Otaru Hotels with Bars

Although it is a old hotel, you can tell by the age of the building and facilities. My husband and I feel really comfortable during our stay. The staff was nice and helpful  The room is very clean, old but very clean, which need a lot of effort put in. (unlike some other hotel looks new cause they renovated but they don’t clean and you can see dust everywhere and you know they haven’t change the item if they are not used.)

Very nice hotel, the lobby is big and nice, allow us to check in at 2 pm. There are some reception staff that can speak mandarin as well. We booked a room for 3 people with 3 single beds. The room is bigger than expected and the washroom is more spacious as compared to others I have stayed in before. Pros is near the Otaru Canal, from the hotel just walk straight all the way will reach Otaru canal. Opposite the hotel there is a Lawson, convenient to buy stuff. Cons is slightly far away from JR station and you will need to walk about 10 mins.

We absolutely loved this ryokan experience! Stayed for 2d1n as a couple and absolutely loved the place! We booked the room with the private onsen and it was a lovely small space on the 2nd floor we could enjoy privately. The onsen is not too big, maybe 1.5 x 1.5 meters, but it was spacious for the two of us. We also found out that you can book a 45 minute slot for a separate private onsen for about ¥2200, which we may have done instead, had we known about it before booking. The japanese-style room was comfortable and had the usual amenities provided, alongside other nice additions like lotions and creams. The staff helped us to set up our futon (japanese-style bed) after dinner, and it was overall a very comfortable experience. The staff are super friendly and service was incredible. We got the dinner and breakfast package and the food was excellent. We had to choose both the dinner slot in advance, and it is first-come-first-serve. Dinner was served to us in the room over 1.5h and was a really amazing 12-course meal with instructions on the eating order. Breakfast was more standard, but still nice, we took it in the dining hall. The lounge is open till 10pm and we could take drinks and refreshment freely, including some small snacks and soft drinks. But they stop serving beer at 9pm. The onsens also have mini-fridges with free popsicles. There is also an outside area you can access from 3pm - 9pm that serves hot coffee and wine, with free marshmallows you can roast on the outside firepit. It was really nice. The garden is by far the nicest part of the hotel, it is really big and well decorated, with many nice places for photos and to enjoy a hot drink from the lounge. The space is quite large and might take about 20 minutes to fully explore. The only downside I can think of is that the location is quite hard to access. We chose to get to and from the ryokan by taxi, but there is also a shuttle bus service, from what I understand. When we arrived, the reception told us that there would be a shuttle bus leaving at 10:45 to Otaruchikko station. We still ended up requesting a taxi from the front desk though, which they were happy to help us book (I couldn't get any taxis by cab in the location). Overall a really amazing stay that we would absolutely recommend. The price tag might seem high for a ”3 star” hotel, but the ranking is deceptive, we absolutely had a 5 star experience. The view is unbeatable. The location is not in the Otaru city area, about 500 meters above the aquarium, which requires uphill walking. There are buses and shuttle buses that need to be reserved in front of Otaru JR Station (3:05 pm). Dinner is French fusion, breakfast is a semi-buffet set, and there is a private hot spring with sea view in the room. It is cost-effective.

Hotel is near the all touristy places like the canal. So most things were within walking distance. We completed most things in like 2-3 hours, so in fact there wasn't a real need to stay over a night in Otaru. By evening there wasn't anything much to do so we just stayed in the room as it was raining as well. After checking out, we drove to the next destination. Hotel staffs were incredibly helpful and courteous.

A second night in a lovely hotel, this time in a king size premier room with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen! Comfortable layout and great views from the front and side windows. Comfortable and well set up. Will definitely stay here again if revisiting Otaru.

Kuramure was a cozy, exclusive and magnificent retreat. Location was tranquil but still relatively convenient. Service was very good. Food was quite good. Overall, a remarkable experience.

The hotel is 1 km from Otaru Station. Although it is newly opened, the business is very poor and the service is average. After checking in, there were hair on the bathroom floor and the garbage used by the previous guests was still there. It was disgusting. The hotel facilities are not detailed. The windows are too small and too low, and I hit my head several times.

The breakfast is very nice, and the price is reasonable. The staff is helpful and sincere as well. The room space is good, with the toilet and bathroom separate. I love the lounge with traditional decoration and music boxes.

It is recommended to set the lower bunk. There is no partition on the upper bunk. The wall is on the front desk. There is a little brother who is very handsome. I am a fan. The bed is very good. The room is a bit cold because there is only one warm air outlet. The air conditioner seems to be not running. There is almost no signal on wifi. . The first floor is a bar. You can order wine for free, but I haven’t tried it. The first floor can see the outside scenery. This street is beautiful. I am lucky to come here. Although it is far from Nanxiao, I have to drag the suitcase for nearly one kilometer or go uphill, but the price is very good. I love Xiaoyu.
