Hotel Hostal Cuba

We checked in as termination of a one week sailing trip before flying back home. The place is a bit controversial. On one site a good, boutique style, downtown place with a one million dollar view from the breakfast terrace, on the other side a party place which doesn’t come to rest before 3am during the weekend days. The rooms are in a sandwich between a bar at ground floor and a rooftop bar at top floor. The rooms are a bit small, after a boat trip one wishes a bit more space. It is an elderly building with limited space. Rooms are ok, clean with everything desired, nice wetzone with a tight cabin and rainshower. Good WIFI. We had room 205 which was a bit small with only a tiny window. Major point is the breakfast, first class with local foods and unbeatable view. Very nice and helpful people. However, as mentioned before, don’t go there when you’re after a good sleep..

Room was perfect size for a weekend away, very clean. Staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty and the lady working there was extremely nice. Hotel is situated in a great place, all sites of interest are a short walk with some amazing restaurants nearby. Great romantic getaway

Good location, super helpful young staff, nice but small room (#104), good buffet breakfast and roof top bar. However, like for many others, noise was an issue. I perfectly accept that city centre locations can be noisy but the combination of the busy road, worse for wear patrons leaving the roof top bar via the stairs and especially the adjoining bars on the ground floor (Avinguda de l'Argentina) which were busy until 3am, was disappointing. Would recommend but strongly suggest asking for a quiet room.

Very nice hotel, great amenities and location is perfect! Very comfy rooms - the bed is very comfortable and the pillows as well. Also, the toiletries are great as they are from Rituals. Breakfast is great and is served on the rooftop terrace which make it amazing - however, if it's sunny it can get really hot as the umbrellas are not doing much. If you like partying, then you are in the right spot. The neighborhood is very lively and the hotel itself is famous for the rooftop bar and also the restaurant that turns into a club at nightfall. However, be aware that it's quite loud in the rooms and your sleep might be a bit disrupted - the party is going until 04:00 AM or so. 😅 Overall, we had a nice experience and managed to get a good sleep in spite of the noise.

What a find! The most comfortable room with some thoughtful and appreciated finishing touches. Perfect location for a leisurely stroll into Palma Town, or to the Port. The hotel staff were a delight 😊, and helped make our stay a joy! Thank you! We will be back! Xx

We went to the rooftop restaurant and were terribly disappointed. We had booked a table that wasn't ready when we arrived. The surly waiter begrudgingly cleared most (but not all) of the previous diners plates away and then disappered. No offer of a drink or anything. There were lots of sun umbrellas to protect you from the 34 degree heat. Just a shame none of them were actually positioned over the tables. We soon overheated. We went to see what the buffet breakfast was like. There was hardly any food left, and what was left looked as if it had been there for hours. Very underwhelming. We've been here before a few years ago, normally you would be greeted by a smorgasbord of delights. Today was not that day. It was a struggle to find anything appetizing. When we did find a few morsels to eat, there were no plates. So we went to the bar to ask for some clean ones, the bar was just covered in dirty crockery, the delightful waiter looked at us as if we had asked for his kidney. The place was a mess, the service was terrible, the food pretty much inedible. When asked how it had been by the front of house, as they charged us the full rate, we expressed our disappointment. A casual shrug of the shoulders was about the sum of their customer service. A shame, this used to be a real gem. Now I would avoid.
