GGuest UserA guesthouse is not just a simple space; it's more about embodying a lifestyle, cultural creativity, and the aesthetics of life… At Auntie's house, I experienced the simple and honest culture of the local people and the long history of tea cultivation. It was a truly memorable trip. On our first day, it was drizzling. Auntie explained that winter in the tea mountains is the dry season, and it hadn't rained for a month. This was the first spring rain, and we witnessed a sea of clouds slowly rising from the mountains. That evening, we drank Pu'er tea made by Auntie and received a souvenir containing ancient tree Pu'er tea she had made. The tea trees here are very old, mostly over a hundred years old, covered in moss and parasitic plants. Tea pickers have to climb these ancient, tall trees to harvest the fresh buds and leaves. I'm very grateful to Auntie for such a precious gift. After having a local breakfast of rice noodles, we spent the morning in the ancient tea garden. At an altitude of 1800 meters, the mornings were cool and the sun was pleasant. The animals here are very free; chickens, pigs, cows, and dogs roamed the tea plantations with us, creating a harmonious atmosphere. I strolled around the village; it was very primitive and rustic. In the afternoon, I saw an incredibly healing sunset. The experience here was completely different from the guesthouses in the city. I was hosted by the auntie herself, and her family was very kind and warm. There were no waiters, and even the animals were free and content. It felt like being isolated from the world, perfect for city dwellers like us to relax. It was truly a very relaxing experience and trip.

JJasmineSFIt was truly an outstanding experience. Mr. Xu ended up driving us around for our entire stay - from tea stores to local Dai village, till sending us to the train station. We tasted amazing teas, tried local foods, made tea cakes, went to see ancient tea tree with him; he even invited us to dinner with his friends. Breakfast is amazing with view of clouds; the restaurant in the hotel has really good food. Fruit plate every afternoon; tea tasting with Jiangjiang, a Laobanzhang tea expert. We leaned so much about puer tea and tasted some of the best puer teas in the region. One of the most unforgettable stay ever for us and we are so grateful!

GGuest UserFacilities: A living room, two bedrooms, a balcony, a hot spring pool, one bedroom is connected to the hot spring pool, the hot spring is not just hot water, it has a strong sulfur smell, both bedrooms are equipped with projectors, and movies It's completely free (you don't have to be disturbed by mythical beasts when you soak in the hot springs). The area has its own attractions, where you can play four-wheel off-road motorcycles, tent barbecues, etc. It's the first choice for those who like peace and quiet.
Health: The facilities are new and clean.
Environment: The environment is quiet and not noisy.
Service: The original room type was extended, and the boss directly upgraded the room type. He also thoughtfully provided a property card for free tickets to attractions in the area.

NNihaoxiaoshangFacilities: It is a newly opened hotel, which gave me a great surprise. The room is much larger than the photo. It is very convenient to wash and dry clothes, especially since we just came back from the rainforest. We are very happy to be able to wash even wet clothes. The TV is super big. ! ! !
Hygiene: clean, tidy, bright, and free disposable toilet covers. This is what touched me very much! ! !
Environment: Along the Liusha River, there is a small garden downstairs, and there is a corridor outside the room. It is relatively out of place. The Starlight Night Market outside is a bit superfluous, but it is still relatively quiet. There is basically no noise when the balcony door is closed.
Menghai is a good place. The hotel is very conveniently located away from the main urban area of Menghai County. It is very convenient to eat!

Our stay at this homestay was nothing short of magical. We traveled as a group of eight, including two young children, three grandparents, and three adults, and every single one of us had an incredible time. Nestled amidst lush tea plantations, the setting is absolutely stunning. Each morning, we woke up to breathtaking sunrises and a serene mist that blanketed the landscape. The house itself is a work of art—crafted entirely of wood and with impeccable aesthetic taste that reflects a deep respect for nature.
But as beautiful as the surroundings and accommodations are, the true highlight of our stay was the hospitality of the host. In our three years in China, we have never experienced anything like it. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we were visiting a dear friend rather than staying in a hotel. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine care made us feel completely at home.
The food was exceptional, and we were treated to fresh fruits and tea throughout the day. She showed special care for our children, teaching them (and us!) how to make tea, and even accompanied us on a walk to share her knowledge of the local flora. One day, she surprised us with her hidden talent as a musician, singing traditional Chinese songs while playing the guitar and drums. Her smile and positive energy were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all of us.
This homestay was more than just a place to stay—it was an unforgettable experience filled with beauty, warmth, and cultural connection. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories, knowing this was the best place we've ever stayed in China. If you're looking for a place that offers not just comfort but also an extraordinary sense of belonging, this is it. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserWhere do I start? What an incredible hotel and great hospitality especially from 小姚 in the bar. We wanted espresso martinis, which were off menu, and he learnt very quickly how to make a tasty espresso martini. The hotel provides lovely amenities and daily activities. The swimming pool is a real photo opportunity as it’s an infinity pool and you are surrounded by beautiful scenery. The bar has the best views and very chilled. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable and free dessert was offered on the first night.

The hotel has an elegant environment, the public areas are clean and tidy, and the atmosphere is very sufficient. The room facilities are complete, the quality of toiletries is very high, the staff is friendly, the service is also very good, any needs can be responded in time, and also take the initiative to help upgrade the room type. GGuest UserIt is still quite a long way from Menghai to Zhanglang Ancient Village. The proprietress specially drove to pick us up and also saw us off when leaving, which was very considerate.
After checking in, we received one-stop service for food, drink, and entertainment, which felt very good.
Eat: Breakfast is wood-fired hanging pot bean porridge, which is very delicious. I drank three large bowls around the stove and was satisfied. Lunch is mushrooms picked in the mountains. The bright red mushrooms are like elves in the mountains, so beautiful and spiritual. Simple mountain spring water stews into a mushroom soup with a strong aroma of fungus. Dinner is wild vegetables and pumpkin sprouts picked randomly by the roadside, which are also very delicious when stir-fried. By pounding bitter eggplant, pounding river bamboo shoots, and pounding tomatoes, you can taste the unique flavor of the mountains. I also ate their own wild honey, which was sweet to my heart.
Drink: The landlady brought out various kinds of ancient tree tea and Pu'er tea for us to taste. With the sound of rain outside the tearoom and the faint fragrance of tea in the tearoom, we chatted about home affairs in an understated way. I felt that although the landlady is young, she has a sense of self-reliance. The sense of self-reliance and strength brings respect.
Wan: Even though the lady boss is young, she got on her motorcycle and took the two of us on the muddy road in the mountains. She was very cool and comfortable. We were taken up the mountain to pick mushrooms, tea in the ecological tea garden, and ancient tea trees in the primeval forest. We also encountered wild Ganoderma lucidum on the way.
Le: The Baixiang Temple in Zhanglang Ancient Village is particularly beautiful, and the thousand-year-old trees are particularly divine. I like the air, spring water, wild vegetables, ancient temples, sacred trees, and the simple and enthusiastic landlady here.
Accommodation: A quaint wooden house. When you open the window, you can see the unique scenery in the mountains in different weather conditions. The mountains shrouded in clouds and mist after the rain, the sunset glow over the mountains and plains after the sky clears, the lush forests, and the clear air.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in Shitoulaozhai, Gelanghe Township, Menghai County, near the Nannuo Mountain Bama Village Office. Situated on a mountain, the environment is indeed beautiful; you can see the clouds and mist in the morning and the sunset in the evening. There aren't many guests at the moment, and the hotel is managed by a young, attractive woman. The hotel is quite clean; there's no air conditioning, but there are electric blankets and electric heaters, which are sufficient for heating needs. The temperature is low on the mountain, and it can get quite cold sitting for a long time, but you'll still sweat when you walk around.

JJoyINgdalianmaoThis most expensive room is the one with the worst lighting in the hotel facilities. Daguida has nothing to do with it. The bathtub is easy to wet outside. The tile floor is matched with yellow-painted walls and the wood looks very cheap. The narrow wall kitchen cannot be used at all. It is really not as good as the inn before. There is no partition wall between rain and toilet. The glass door does not have frosted stickers.
The door is facing the aisle, next to the bed, and I feel that all kinds of people can see the room uncomfortable when they walk by. In such a large space, would it be better to put a sofa in front of the bed, otherwise it would be so big to lay a picnic mat for me?
We looked at other rooms in the morning, they were better than this room, this room was not transparent and had no lighting, it was really depressed.
Can it be improved, and the recommended price is lower than other rooms.
Service and attitude are very good, but there are too many injuries
