The room was very nice, with a high-end feel, and a welcome champagne was provided. The front desk service is enthusiastic, helping to make restaurant reservations and providing various information. It's a little regrettable that there is no big mirror in the room, so I can't take a look at my whole body. I don’t know how celebrities would react if they tried on clothes without a full-length mirror when they came to stay.

**”BAD: Beware of the 'Upgrade'”**
Our priority when booking was the room size and budget, so we reserved a 32m² City View room.
At check-in, the hotel staff offered us an ”upgrade.” He said that for an additional €25 per day, we could ”upgrade,” so we agreed.
However, while the room did have a Sea View, the size was downgraded to just 21m². I told them that paying €25 to have a smaller room was a downgrade, but they insisted that the view had been upgraded.
I asked to be moved back to the room we originally booked, but the staff ignored my request for an entire day.
Let me ask you this: if you went to see a new landscape, and the view changed, how would you describe it? You wouldn’t say the landscape itself was ”upgraded,” would you? You’d say the view was different or better.
The following day, I finally got a response from the staff. They told me I’d need to pay an additional €70 per day if I wanted a 32m² Sea View room.
While the hotel facilities and scenery are excellent, the staff are focused entirely on business and seem to aim to squeeze every extra euro from their guests.
In the end, we ended up paying the €25.

I contacted Luis via his website to let him know we'd be late checking in and right away, he responded. Within minutes, we were messaging each other on WhatsApp.
Luis sent me loads of useful information and helped us get settled.
The Pension Joakina is lovely and the whole place is immaculate. I could hear the staff cleaning every morning.
The location was brilliant and we were able to walk to all of the places we planned to see.
We will definitely go back.

When I arrived, the reception staff greeted me with a smile.
I was more enjoyable for my trip to San Sebastian because I taught me the recommended bars and restaurants.
We had a very comfortable time with clean room and perfect bed making. I want to stay again.

MgglA very new & clean hotel.
Need to take a bus ride to old town via bus or cab.
Journey is abt 15-20mins.
Breakfast at the hotel was decent.
Bed was comfy but not the sofa bed, which can feel the metal frame when my kid sleep on it.
Relatively value for $ if don’t mind the bus journey. No amenities around the hotel.
Good for people who drives as there is free parking available.

lauraaaaaaAppreciated the free parking and beautiful views of the city below. The hotel is also conveniently located near the bus stop. Our hotel room was pretty clean but I would describe the room amenities as basic. The pillows were too soft - presumably due to the lack of pillow filling. The motion sensor lights in the toilet also turned off every 5 mins which was a bit annoying sometimes. For the price paid, I still think our stay was worth it.

This hotel is adults only, which is great! There should be more like it. The location is fine, it’s in a quiet street, which feels far out the city, but it’s actually around the corner from the shops and cathedral and the beach. It’s about 20 mins walk from the old town, though.
The hotel has a trendy feel and is very ************ and inclusive, which is fantastic.
However the rooms are really small and there’s nowhere at all to put one’s toiletries in the bathroom: it could have been designed better. The balcony was huge and great, but without sun umbrella we couldn’t stay outside in the 30C heat. We found some maintenance issues: leaking tap, broken bathroom door, wonky TV set, but the rest was fine. Average, but cheaper than other hotels in the area.

The pension is easy to find, and staff are very helpful. Beds are comfortable; coffee and tea are available; everything is clean.
The only difficulty might be is there is only one bathroom for all the guests. We were here in low season, so didn't have much difficulty, but I can imagine problems in the high season.
The pension is in the old part of San Sebastian, so visiting the most picturesque parts is easy, as is visiting nearby villages.
Local food is excellent.
I highly recommend this pension; excellent value for your money. It's the best base for exploring this part of the Basque Country.

Guest UserThe hotel is located about 15-20 min walk to the center of San Sebastian. Staff are kind and extremely helpful. Cleanliness was good. Restaurant was surprisingly very good in the lobby. stayed there for 5nights and 6 days was well worth it. The price was quite expensive for what i paid but it was during the film festival so was well worth it. would certainly stay here on my way back to San Sebastian
Wonderful knowledgeable staff who are genuinely helpful
