Bed was very old and small and incredibly uncomfortable room 2007
Air conditioning (which didn’t appear to be air conditioning) was very loud and useless, room was so hot and stuffy- as was the hotel, especially this side of the building. Table fan provided which helped cool the room slightly.
TV kept turning its self on throughout the night.
Only English tea- no earl grey.
Shower was a dribble of water.
No room service after 9:30 which was very disappointing and no suggestions of where we could order food from elsewhere. Bar shut and no drinks for guests.
The room was a long way from reception and lift.
Good points- public areas are lovely, garden really pretty and plenty of space.
Room sizes are very big, shame about tiny TV and bed

Gorgeous hotel in a great location. The rooms are spacious and full of the expected Indigo special touches. The addition of the garden courtyard really sets this one ahead of some of the other IHG hotels we’ve stayed in.

This hotel basically meets Hilton standards in all aspects. Here are some special features: First, the location is convenient. It is very close to the train station and within walking distance. It is also within walking distance to the street where Shakespeare was born. There is a Morrison supermarket very close. There are small doors for pedestrians to enter and exit in all four directions of the hotel. Google map may not be very accurate. Second, the Junior Suite is actually a large room. The sofa can be converted into a sofa bed. It doesn't feel like a suite, but the sofa bed is quite large. The cushions of the sofa were laid on the ground when the staff made it into a sofa bed. If you want to sit on the sofa after entering the door, you should pat it first. It doesn't feel very clean. This hotel does not provide toothbrushes or the like. You can't get them even if you ask for them at the front desk. You need to prepare them yourself. Third, the front desk staff was a waitress on the day of check-in. The service was poor. She didn't take the initiative to tell me the location and time of breakfast. She also delayed arranging an extra bed. I called from the room for a long time but no one answered. I hurriedly answered the phone with my mobile phone from an outside line. I told her that I thought the room phone was broken. The male waiter who served us later was very enthusiastic. He told us how to use the train ticket and the convenient small door to the train station. Another male waiter saw that we had children with us and gave us a few more bottles of water and cookies. So I still trust Hilton's service. I just hope that they can strengthen the training of all employees.

We love Stratford upon Avon as a venue especially when there is something on at the RST and there was! Love's Labour's Lost! Brilliant and so funny, and we'll acted. Two evening we went to a wonderful Thai restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. William Shakespeare 's church was a great visit. The walls by the river and the backstreets were full of interest

The setting is super for visiting the sights and the hotel is a beautiful historic building. The modern spa was nice to use but we found the room quite basic and could do with a freshen up and very disappointed that there where no hot drink making facilities in the room.
We had the breakfast included in our room cost and we were very disappointed in that - everything was swimming in grease and the black pudding and potato rosti were very over cooked so we could not finish our meal.
The car park is £7 per nights stay but were were not made aware of this beforehand.
We would probably stay again but would upgrade to a room in the old part of the building and won't have the cooked breakfast.

GGuest User2022.07.26
The hotel is generally good and the staff are attentive, but we would suggest avoiding the restaurant.
The hotel doesn't warrant a 4* with areas showing wear and tear such as water-damaged wood, mouldy seal in the bathroom, broken window locks, etc.
Our room was not ready when we arrived, so we were given a drinks voucher. After being advised our room was ready, we arrived at the room to find the maid still cleaning the room. The room included basic tea and coffee facilities and toiletries.
The pool/spa is limited and has a cold pool, a steam room, a sauna, and a gym.
We had booked into the restaurant for an evening meal, but when we arrived there was a table complaining about the food. They had sent their food back to the kitchen twice, and the staff were suggesting they send it back again. They walked out of the restaurant. Based on this, we thought we would order something that was pretty safe, so we ordered a burger and a chicken. However, the meat tasted cheap and of poor quality. The restaurant is charging gastro prices, but the quality is nothing better than Wetherspoons or worse. Again, the puddings were basic, with a vegan coconut ice cream that had an odd texture to it and a sticky toffee pudding that was no better than a cheap microwave pud. In our opinion, the staff were inappropriately dressed, with one waitress having such a short skirt that every time she moved you got to see more than you wanted. The bar staff were assisting in the restaurant, and one barman was dressed in hip-style jeans, which kept falling down. Although all very attentive and polite, it seemed that the hotel as a whole had very limited staff, with everyone just mucking in.
The breakfast was not much better than our evening meal. We arrived at 9.30am to find the milk, pastries, hot water, etc. had run dry. There was a selection of hot food, but once again the meat tasted cheap. The main waitress was incredibly young and either didn't communicate or spoke so incredibly quietly that you could not hear what she said.
At check out, we were not asked how our stay had been, and we felt that everything was done to avoid such communication.
With vast landscaped grounds, sweeping staircases and open log fires, The Welcombe Hotel, BW Premier Collection really does have the wow factor.
Weve plenty of quirky charm too, as this Grade II-listed neo-Jacobean building was designed as a calendar house with seven entrances, 12 fireplaces, 52 chimneys and 365 windows!

The service was great! There was an error with room allocation and as the booked room was not available, we got upgraded to a suite which was wonderful as we were celebrating a special milestone birthday. The dinner at the Trevellyn Restaurant was beyond expectation as we were vegetarian and the vegetarian meal prepared by the chef was awesome. The hotel decor itself looked a little tired although it added to the authentic look of the listed building. It was a hot weekend during our stay and although there was no air conditioning, a small fan was provided which made a little difference when sleeping at night. The gardens needed some upkeep and it would have been lovely if the fountains had been working. Overall we did enjoy our stay and look forward to coming back again after it has gone through some upgrading and refurbishing.

This hotel is surprisingly good, opposite the Shakespeare Theatre, out of the Swan Lake on the River Avon, very beautiful, the hotel has free parking, breakfast is order but very delicious, the hotel room is very winding, each room is There is a specific name. The aisle is like a maze. It is very complicated. There is no elevator. I really don't understand. In addition, check in the front desk is in the back door, through a door, walk through the restaurant to get to the front door, in addition to the design is a bit strange, the other is very good, the location is very good.

In the countryside in Stratford in a beautiful timber beamed building. The room was dark but spacious. We had the family room with a double and two single. Breakfast was included. No menus but the waiter said any English breakfast combination which was great. I had two poached eggs. The only problem was a lack of communication regarding the usual route to find the hotel being closed due to road works. Navigating a one way system in an unfamiliar town with no email or call to let us know how we were to get to the hotel was extremely stressful and put us 1.5 hours behind the schedule to arrive. This could have been sorted if the hotel had contacted trip.com with the landline provided at booking and explained about road works so I could have been forwarned.

GGuest UserWhat a lovely 1 night stay I had. Bill is a great host providing spotlessly clean rooms, great hospitality, perfect in room facilities, great choice of locally sourced breakfast, good location 15 mins stroll from the town and an all round very good value for money B&B.
I will definitely be back.
Sshin_eThe room was very clean and the bathroom didn't have a taste. The couple are very enthusiastic and can communicate in Chinese. Breakfast is made now and delicious. The size and facilities of the room fully meet the needs of the accommodation. Parking is available in the yard in front of the door, with about 5 parking spaces. Next to the gas station. When it arrived, it was the first house next to the gas station, so don't walk. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the town center. Parking the car can be strolled around the town. The stairs are a bit steep, but the boss is very enthusiastic to help carry the box, and it doesn't feel inconvenient at all.
GGuest UserThe hotel was perfectly situated for the town and the theatre. Room was lovely & the bed & pillows dreamy! Staff were super friendly & helpful.
Unfortunately we didn’t have breakfast as we had arranged to meet friends - but I’m sure it would have been wonderful!
DDONGThis hotel is the most cost-effective hotel in my trip to England, very value! The room is large, the bed and pillows are very comfortable, the facilities are complete, the parking is free, and the breakfast is superb! In fact, it should be an old manor transformation, the garden is super large, reminding me of Downton Manor. The little brother at the front desk is super humorous and has a rich expression.
TTobiasIs very old hotel, like 500 years ago with quirky historical rooms and a very good restaurant and bar at the ground level. The service personal is nice and very helpful. If you like to live in a true historic place and eat well it’s a good choice for you.
GGuest UserCouple with dog.
For two nights we didn't have hot water. We rang reception an spoke to the duty manager - the second time...He told us it was because there was a coach load of people staying who had all taken a shower/bath at the same time on their return, and we would have to wait until it heated up again. That didn't allow for the lack of pressure - a trickle! In the end we gave up - no shower/bath. However, the duty manager assured us that the manager would find us the next morning.... this never happened, On the Saturday night the same thing happened. The excuse given by the receptionist for the manager not having found us that morning was there was a wedding and all managers were needed - they didn't start their shift until 11am. The duty manager couldn't speak to us as he was working at the wedding - Saturday night - but Leanne assured us that she had noted our complaint and that she had written up notes, and our inconvenience (now not having hot water for two nights of a three night stay) would be reflected in our invoice on checking out. This wasn't the point. The stay was supposed to be a relaxing, super special treat, not able to have a shower or a bath at night was NOT okay! She assured us that on the third night the 'tour' party and 'wedding party' would have left. So we would have hot water. Which we did.
On checking out the receptionist had no idea about our complaint, and therefore couldn't help us.
We are in the process of writing a compliant, and a review. The staff and hotel did not let you down - the management did!
I have a video of the water pressure.
On another point, the hotel is described as dog friendly. This might be the case. You can bring your dog for a fee of £25 a night, however, on check in we were told we had to eat in the bar area or outside. Luckily the weather was okay. However, we felt like second class citizens! Not only that but the bar area has no tables at which anyone could eat a meal - the tables are all low and only fit for snacks!
GGuest User16th Century building (road side inn).. Re-modernized, with rooms to let..
Very atmospheric pub and restaurant, esp for Christmas time.
Nice touches that bring out the features of the building, esp the the indoor water well.
Room are good, may need some further modernization but very functional.
Incredibly narrow corridors and stairwell. (can see traffic jams happening)
GGuest UserEverything fine except for the check in.
Hotel insisted that the rooms had not been paid for in advance and that to gain access i would have to pay at the desk
I have therefore paid twice for the same booking
I have tried Premier Inns complaints line but end up in an endless wild goose chase and no help
GGuest UserThe location was great - right in the middle of Stratford and ideal for a theatre visit. The room was small and pretty basic, but it was clean with comfy beds so fine for overnight. The communication from staff was great - no onsite parking but a clear explanation of where the nearest car park was (very close) and how to get the best price. Very helpful staff. Didn't use the bar area so can't comment on food or drink, but it was welcoming and there was a pleasant outside area. Tea / coffee and kettle provided. Clean if small shower room. Overall really good value for the price and would definitely stay there again.
