Beautiful hotel with gardens and a fantastic spa. The rooms are spacious and full of character, but unfortunately poorly maintained. The carpets are worn, furniture stained and wallpaper peeling. All to be expected from a hotel as old as this, although it’s wise to curb your expectations as hotel pictures aren’t an accurate reflection. Room 135 was so full of potential and could be absolutely spectacular with some TLC. Staff were wonderful; attentive, warm and helpful.

We had an excellent mini spa break over the past few days, ending with a trip back to Oxford! Spa was lovely and the staff were great.

Nice place. Unfortunate we were there during the heat wave as the sleeping without air conditioning was very difficult.  The spa / pool was not cleaned between our evening swim and the next morning. Bandaids on the pool floor, sanitary bins overflowing.

An amazing find. Lots of nice walks on your door step, including a riverside walk to Stratford on Avon. Staff are very attentive, spa is very nice. Lovely find on our doorstep! Will be back

It’s an impressive building so I was having some expectations. The room it was a bit dated in the newer part. Not many amenities as you can expect from this kind of hotel. The bar area is really nice looking over a fabulous garden and so the restaurant. On that note the food was areal let down. I have ordered a Thai green curry chicken. I was soo looking forward to this but when arrived it was a total disappointment. The chicken was probably a leftover from another meal, very dry. The sauce was nothing like green curry and the rice it was microwaved. The waitresses were very lovely and apologised and the removed it from my bill. They said that they have an agency chef! So it’s a real shame !!
