Guest UserThe moment I opened the room door, I was immediately impressed! The bed was clean, thick, and came with soft, plush pillows – it felt amazing to just collapse onto it after a long journey. The large window, with its pristine white curtains and sheers, framed a charming armchair and coffee table set in the corner of the room. I left the curtains open all night, allowing for a clear city view. The service was incredibly prompt, and the staff were very responsive and efficient. My request for an extra pillow, due to my back pain, was immediately fulfilled. What I had anticipated from an Aston group hotel, and indeed, what I found at Harper Hotel Wahid Hasyim by Aston, was a diverse and delicious breakfast spread. While perhaps not as extensive as some larger Aston hotels, for a hotel of its class, HARPER HOTEL BY ASTON IS THE BEST!! The hospitality of every hotel employee was also incredibly satisfying! Friendly, full of smiles, and helpful! It's absolutely great! As a tour operator, I highly recommend this hotel.

Guest UserExcellent! It truly lives up to its reputation as the best in the area. The breakfast is plentiful, and it's undoubtedly the cleanest hotel in Medan. It was fantastic; the bed was made exceptionally well, and the water provided was good. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Had a great stay at Grand Central Premier Hotel!
The room was very big, spacious, clean, and well maintained, which made the stay really comfortable. The facilities and amenities are also great. I especially appreciated the welcome drinks during check-in, a nice touch that made the experience feel more premium. The hotel also has a swimming pool, which is perfect for relaxing after a long day.
Location-wise, it’s very strategic. It’s within walking distance to the train station, making it super convenient for getting around. Plus, it’s close to Deli Park Mall, one of the nicest shopping malls in the city, so food and shopping options are easily accessible.

AriffAlia$Don’t judge the hotel based on how it looks from outside as it might look like a run down building! The room is good, you get what you pay. Breakfast is good, local indonesian breakfast.
The best part about this hotel is the staff. They might not be a 5 star hotel (I think) but the hospitality is 5 star! (From the staffs in the entrance area, to the reception counter, restaurants to the cleaning staff!) Kudos to the whole team!
The location outside the hotel might be a bit creepy after 10pm to walk around because it’s dark. But don’t worry there’s always at least 2 staffs at the door and if you’re taking e-hailing service you’ll be fine, just don’t walk outside alone.

Guest UserEverything was good, except for one thing: I booked two nights in a smoking room, but on the first night, I was given a non-smoking room. I only got a smoking room on the second night. Also, on the second night, my family and I wanted to use the pool at 7 PM, but we weren't allowed because it was being used for a wedding dinner. Even though the pool is supposed to be an amenity for guests.

西蒙子No hot water in the shower, a little bit seems dirty/ broken in the bathroom and it doesn’t give the feeling of real luxury, but for this price I think it’s very good still. You have a restaurant which is open 24/7 with friendly servers.
The pool is shared by hotel guests with people who pay for usage of the pool, looks clean enough.
Staff helped to bring luggage to the room.
The location of the hotel is good, it feels a little bit less developed around the hotel tho, but there is a nice mall nearby, maybe 5 minutes with the car.

JustJGrand Sakura Hotel is an acceptable budget-friendly option in Medan, especially considering the price point, but the property is showing its age and could benefit greatly from renovations.
The room was functional but extremely dated. Furnishings and fixtures feel old, and the overall atmosphere lacks the freshness that many travellers would expect today. The television is very basic, and several channels are blurry, making the in-room entertainment experience quite limited.
One positive aspect is the lobby, which is well presented and has a pleasant scent, creating a good first impression upon arrival. Unfortunately, the experience doesn’t quite continue into other areas of the hotel.
Breakfast was one of the weaker points of the stay. The selection was minimal, and there wasn’t anything particularly memorable or standout among the offerings. It gets the job done, but don’t expect much variety or quality compared to other hotels in the same category.
The gym was also disappointing. It is essentially a very small room with around five pieces of equipment, several of which appeared to be broken or poorly maintained. Calling it a full fitness centre would be an overstatement.
Overall, Grand Sakura Hotel offers reasonable value for money if you’re simply looking for an affordable place to stay in Medan. However, with some refurbishment and better maintenance of its facilities, the hotel could significantly improve the guest experience and better justify its position in the market.

Affordable basic room but clean enough ( some ants though). Location is central within 20min walking radius of major malls ( Plaza Medan Fair/Sun/Cambridge), Damri airport bus ( in front of Plaza Medan Fair), family massage/reflexology outlets (Jl.Orion), and the popular medan cakes outlets eg ”bika ambon” (Zulaikha)/”bolu” (Meranti).
Car park is available with security.
However, the complimentary breakfast is only set without selection option.
