YYuxiashanqingI was worried about dragging luggage through the snow in Hokkaido during winter, so I tried to book a hotel close to the JR station. Indeed, it was a seamless connection from the platform to the room. Unfortunately, there was no snow in Hakodate this Chinese New Year... I booked a large room, and it was genuinely spacious with three beds that could be pushed together, perfect for families with twins. The hotel is right next to Hakodate Morning Market, making breakfast very convenient. This time, I didn't book breakfast included. I only went once on the last night before leaving; it looked rich, but the ingredients and quality were very, very mediocre. You're better off finding a random seafood rice bowl nearby... My only complaint is with the hotel front desk. They insisted on charging me for three people for breakfast, even though both kids qualified for the hotel's free breakfast policy. Her reason was that the hotel's check-in order showed three adults + one child? So, Ctrip also has an issue here; I clearly selected two adults and two children, but it seems agents always make things vague... So, for families with kids traveling to Japan, it's best to book hotels directly on Japanese official websites, where the information and charges are much clearer and more explicit.

GGuest UserIt was a wonderful experience. I was so excited before arriving and still savoring it after returning. I booked a stay with two meals and enjoyed the hot springs three times a day. The ancient Showa atmosphere, mingled with the sea breeze from the Tsugaru Strait, was a highlight of my trip to Hakodate.

GGuest UserI stayed in a D-Fourth Non smoking room on the 8th floor. The room has a nice view of Mount Hakodate from the balcony and a view of the port from the bedroom window. Room was clean and there is daily cleaning if you ask for it. Cooking utensils are available though no condiments provided. The bath system is electronic and took a while to figure out how to use it. Room was spacious and adequate for 4 of us. What we loved is that while the dryer did not really dry our clothes (separate washer and dryer), the heater in the room was strong enough to dry them and we could borrow a rack from the hotel to hang them out to dry. Only improvement we would like to suggest - we arrived when it was snowing heavily, and as we moved our luggage into the room the floor became wet and dirtied, we had to clean with tissue as there is no floor cleaner available.would be nice to provide self cleaning tools especially since there is a kitchen and things might spill. And also the balcony did not have any ‘balcony’ shoes so it was just too cold to step outside to enjoy the scenary. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Would choose it again if we go Hakodate.

ZZuoyouzuoI've stayed at this hotel twice now. It's quite convenient; you can walk to Mount Hakodate, and the beach is close enough for some great photos. It's also near the station and a supermarket, plus there's a Lawson convenience store right downstairs.

GGuest UserThe hotel's exterior is beautiful and modern, highly recommended! 👍 It's also very close to Hakodate Morning Market. The room itself is quite spacious, and having a microwave and cooking utensils is a huge plus, great for making late-night snacks. What really stood out were the self-service toiletries available for guests, and the fabric freshener provided smelled wonderful and worked great! 😌

It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!

AAilvxingdeabuI absolutely loved this Lavista hotel! The breakfast was fantastic, with a great spread including salmon, sweet shrimp, ice cream, and pudding. There's a direct bus to Hakodate Airport right nearby, costing 700 yen, and it's conveniently located next to Meijikan. There are also plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses are just a 2-minute walk away, which is super handy for buying snacks and souvenirs. The onsen (public bath) was excellent, with good quality body lotion and hair conditioner provided. There were several outdoor baths, which were very relaxing. Plus, after a soak, you get free ice cream! It's about a 15-minute walk to both the Hakodateyama Ropeway and Hakodate JR Station. The views of Mount Hakodate are also beautiful. Highly recommend!

MM3946****The hotel's location is super convenient. After getting off at Hakodate Station, you can take buses 95, 95A, or 96 right outside the station (get off at Yunokawa Onsen Station), and the hotel is directly across the street. Conversely, you can catch a bus from the hotel entrance directly to JR Hakodate Station. This is incredibly handy, especially given how expensive taxis are in Japan.
The hotel rooms are very spacious. While the facilities are a bit dated, the big plus is that the room comes with a private, continuously flowing hot spring bath – it's not one of those you have to turn on and off with a tap. It's semi-open-air, looking out onto the ocean, so there's no need to worry about privacy. Soaking in the onsen while enjoying the sea view, perhaps with an ice cream [chuckle] – it really doesn't get much more relaxing!
Since we booked a Japanese-style room, staff came to make our beds after check-in. The mini-fridge was stocked with complimentary bottled water, bottled tea, and beer. Unfortunately, my family and I don't drink, so we didn't make use of that service [facepalm].
Right next to the hotel is the 'Ichimonji' ramen shop, and the Tropical Botanical Garden, where you can watch monkeys soaking in the hot springs, is just a 300-500 meter walk away. Guests staying at Hanatsuki can also request a window seat at breakfast to enjoy the sea view while they eat.

GGuest UserI highly, highly recommend this hotel! It's located near Goryokaku Park, easily accessible by tram from JR Hakodate Station. This area is quite central, with museums, shopping malls, and plenty of great food options nearby – there's even a super delicious soup curry place! A Lawson and 7-Eleven are less than a minute away, and it's also close to Yunokawa Onsen.
I recommend this hotel for a couple of reasons. First, the room was exceptionally clean and spacious. I stayed in a king-size room by myself, and it felt more than ample; I could easily fit several suitcases without an issue. Second, the staff's service attitude was excellent – very polite and courteous. I had a meeting in the morning and requested that the cleaning staff not disturb me during that time. Throughout my stay, no one ever knocked on my door; they quietly cleaned the adjacent rooms. Later, when I returned from sightseeing in the evening, I found a bag of fresh toiletries hanging on my door!
I was so touched! They were considerate enough not to disturb me by knocking, yet also made sure I had new bathroom supplies.
I was deeply impressed by the hotel's service and thoughtful consideration! This was truly the most satisfying hotel experience of my Hokkaido trip. The price was reasonable, the cleanliness was impeccable, and the staff were warm and polite.
Next time I visit Hakodate, I'm booking this hotel directly.
