We took our parents and children to Tengchong during the rainy season, and after careful consideration, we chose Yueyu Inn. We stayed for three days and were reluctant to leave; it's truly a hidden gem of an inn. My grandmother, a bit of a clean freak, raved about Yueyu's cleanliness. The courtyard, hallways, rooms, and kitchen were all spotless, a truly comforting sight. The bedding was Atour, very comfortable. Heshun Ancient Town is quite large, and the inn's location is perfectly in the center, convenient for both the east and west sides. In the afternoon, Li Ji's rice noodle stall opened, so we ate there and headed back! Next door is my fourth uncle's courtyard, practically the inn's backyard, filled with his decades-old volcanic plant treasures—a real eye-opener! The beautiful and charming landlady personally handled everything, helping us solve every problem. The auntie made breakfast for us every day, making us feel like family. She even saved the best food for us to try… So many wonderful things made us want to come back!

Staying at the Eddie's Homestay in Heshun Ancient Town was absolutely amazing! The small courtyard is elegant and fresh, with gravel paving, scattered stone tables and benches, and dotted with bougainvillea and greenery, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The decor is stylish, with Chinese-style antique shelves and carved wooden doors. The rooms are clean and hygienic, and the smart door locks are a thoughtful touch. The owner is warm and attentive, making us feel very at home. Here, you can enjoy a comfortable stay while experiencing the slow pace of life in the ancient town. The flowers and plants in the courtyard and the furnishings are all very detailed, making the stay extremely comfortable. This homestay is a surefire choice for those visiting Heshun Ancient Town and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the charm of the ancient town and appreciate quality accommodations!

Nuangui Homestay I sent emails to Nuangui via trip.com on 24 Nov and 30 Nov to arrange for complimentary pick up. I got no reply to my 2 emails. I telephoned Nuangui via trip.com on 1 Dec before flying out to TengChong, a lady answered the phone, she insisted she didn't receive my 2 emails, but promised to arrange pick up. When we arrived in TengChong we were picked up and dropped off at the entrance of HeShun and given a gps map sharing location and told to find our own way to the minsu after eating because their staff/boss refused to meet and greet us at the HeShun entrance. At the time it was around 9.30pm. Despite the gps map sharing, we spent a long time walking around dark, narrow, quiet streets of HeShun looking for something to eat and then later the minsu location. In the end we couldn't find the minsu. There was no one around to ask for durections and it was quite dark and very cold. By around 11.15pm we finally gave up looking and called the minsu to come and find us and take us to the minsu. They only answered after a few minutes of calling. It was lucky we insisted on calling, we would never have found the minsu by ourselves. The minsu itself was great, comfortable and clean. The location is convenient (when u know where it is and how to get there). The minsu staff took our luggage all the way, from the airport to the minsu, which was very helpful, I wouldn't have made it to the minsu if I had to carry my own luggage because a lot of the HsShun streets are uneven, uphill and many steps. The only hic up was the bath, originally we thought it wasn't working because there was no hot water coming out from the hot water tap. After 3 nights of stay, we later found out that the taps were installed incorrectly, C water tap meant hot water and the other way round. Also, even though staying in minsu in HeShun, you still have to pay entrance tickets, that wasn't pointed out on the minsu details.

At first, I only booked a family room for one night. I wanted to stay for one night to experience it. If it was not good, I would change the hotel. But then I read some reviews and guides, saying that the ancient town road is not very easy to walk, and you need to climb up and down frequently. , changing hotels is quite troublesome, so before leaving, I called the innkeeper to inquire about the pick-up station. The boss said that pick-up and drop-off are only available after staying for three nights. I also read the reviews of some guests of the inn and found that it was okay. So we booked an additional standard room for two nights, but the boss didn't let us change rooms for the next two nights. He upgraded us. After all, there was a price difference between the two room types, but there was a little incident when we checked out. , which added a bit of unhappiness to this trip to the ancient town. When I informed the boss about the time of departure, the boss said that it was not convenient to receive other guests at that time, so he asked us to take a taxi and leave. After all, we were given a free upgrade for two nights. I didn’t say anything about the room. I just said that the boss said it would be delivered to the station on the phone. At this time, the boss and the wife changed their words and said that it would only be delivered after five days of stay. In fact, I did not ask for the room to be delivered to the station during the whole process. I mentioned the verbal agreement, but the landlady looked unhappy as if I had made an unreasonable request. Since the road was not easy to walk, it was difficult to lift the luggage, so I asked the boss to help take the luggage to the taxi point of Anning Kindergarten, but the boss took it away. The luggage was put in another place right next to here and I was told to pick it up. Since I was not familiar with the route and was afraid of delaying the time to catch the bus, I asked the hotel to help guide me to pick it up. Once again, the landlady became impatient and said how about the upgraded room. , the upgrade is not what I asked for, okay? Let me talk about the room again. The bed is more comfortable to sleep on, but the next day I found small ants on the bed. I asked the boss to spray some medicine. Stayed in the ancient town for four nights. The location of the homestay is very convenient next to the large parking lot in the ancient town. The bathroom has a drying hot air and floor heating. It is comfortable to use a dyson hair dryer, with a large bathtub, and dry and wet separation. The overall service of the homestay is particularly good. There is also a housekeeper to pick up the parking lot in the middle of the night. In the morning, there is an aunt who prepares to pack corn sweet potatoes and egg snacks for us in advance. The aunts are very friendly and dry our clothes and put them back in the room. The boss brother and Miss Sister are also very intimate to recommend a variety of food and hot springs (Lotus Hot Spring). The overall stay is very worry-free, five points praise 💗

The room was quite spacious, but the bathroom facilities were a bit outdated. It's located on the edge of the ancient town, a bit far from the main area, so it's not recommended for elderly people with mobility issues. It's fine for young people, and you can even take a walk around Wild Duck Lake. The hot springs were okay, but perhaps because we went during the off-season, there were only two pools available, so the experience wasn't great when it was crowded. I highly recommend the nearby ”Mama's Taste” restaurant – it's incredibly delicious!
