Caybeach Sun

My young daughter and I have been coming to Caybeach Sun the last few years. We absolutely love coming here. There is an onsite shop that has all the essentials and more, staff in the shop are lovely. There’s 2 big swimming pools, a kids pool and water slides. There’s a pool bar where you can order food and drinks through out the day, staff at the pool bar work very hard getting everyone’s order to them, they are nice and helpful. The apartments are nice, spacious and comfortable. Reception and night staff are absolutely lovely, nothing is ever too much hassle. Especially Andreas who’s always cheerful and nice. One person who really stood out to me this year is Pika the entertainer, my god he is a ball of energy. He is great with the kids. Pika does activities during the day around the pool area and gets families involved adults and children. It’s great fun. Evening entertainment the kids love tattoos and mini disco, there does be bingo, karaoke, just dance and all sorts of evening entertainment for everyone to enjoy. Pika will talk to all the families and get everyone involved. He makes a big effort to speak in English for people like me who aren’t great with the Spanish language just yet . Hats off to pika he is very good at his job. The beach and town are only about 10-15 minute walk or 2-5 mins in a taxi. Great holiday this year.
Labranda Alyssa Suite Hotel

Labranda suite hotel alyssa- After a disappointing and disgusting holiday last year in a different hotel (rubicon palace) We did not know what to expect once booking this hotel. This has been one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in after travelling many places around the world. Staff was always greeting with smiles and they went above and beyond to meet our expectations to ensure we had a brilliant family holiday. This is the first time on all holidays we have not had to worry about getting a sun bed what a breathe of fresh air to go to breakfast at 8:30/9:00 and not 1 single towel was reserving a sun bed! Food had a lot less options than previous hotels but the standard of food and the temperature (hot) was amazing. Fresh pizzas and fresh pasta station for our daughter was top class. Our room was 411 we loved it, spacious and enjoyed how close we were to everything always cleaned daily to a high standard. We throughly enjoyed our holiday and the people we met whilst we were there, we were absolutely gutted when our holiday was over but already looking at returning! Thank you!!!
Elba Lanzarote Royal Village Resort

I am writing this with the earnest aim of helping others make an informed choice before you decide to stay here. I was taken on holiday as a kind gift- for which I am grateful- however, had this been under different circumstances, I would have felt very differently- and the following is facts- 1) All inclusive - the silver wristband has more restrictions than the pandemic - get a gold wristband- you can't get served at certain bars with the silver, go to certain areas, go to the adults only pool etc. - it's ridiculous. (And I was told by the people with the gold bands that theirs was not much better but definitely less restrictions) 2) This is rather serious - over the course of the 7 days, out of the 9 or 10 people I loosely befriended and got talking to, 4 of those people got food poisoning, including myself. That cannot be a coincidence. We all got it on different days, (mine, going by what I was bringing back up, seemed to be a delightful mixture of peppers, mushrooms and mediteranean vegetables) - others said they got it off the salad, others said it was from other foods- so there is clearly a problem here with hygiene or the food - 1 of these people lived with other serious health conditions and because of the food poisoning had to have over 600 euros worth of injections from the Doctor. It's all inclusive- imagine if you didn't have 600 euros spending money in your bank account? The food poisoning passed after 24 hours starvation- but it was very painful and extremely unpleasant during that time - stay close to a toilet! 3) If you want an adults only holiday, this is NOT the resort for you. Mainly families and kids. 4) If you are SINGLE and would be open to a holiday romance, this is NOT the resort for you. Guests are not allowed on the resort for any reason or any length of time day OR night. Rather discriminative towards single people really. 5) The service staff and bar staff are generally lovely- and you can tell they are worked to the bone. It is clearly the management that is the problem. 6) On day 2 of my 7 day holiday, I put a serious complaint in to a manager- she said she or someone would get back to me. Nobody ever did. 7) The air conditioning units in the apartments/rooms are TERRIBLE. It was sometimes cooler outside than with the air con on, on full power (and it only stays on full power for 10-15 minutes, you have to keep pushing the button) - our room often felt like an oven/furnace with no air - uncomfortable 8) Don't bother trying to book in at the steakhouse restaurant. It is (inexplicably?) hardly ever open and always fully booked - even before you arrive - when it is. 9) The Italian restaurant has NO AIR and is swelteringly hot. Also, don't order the spaghetti bolognese - my Mum is NOT a good cook, and her spaghetti bolognese is better than what was offered here. Maybe I just picked the wrong dish? But nothing special. 10) How this hotel has 4 stars is literally beyond me. It should be investigated. Would yo
Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort

This was our 13th visit to the Princesa Yaiza and it never fails to deliver. We had a superb suite with a view of the lower pool in block C (236) which is our preferred location, the room was spotless on arrival and the maid service all through our 13 night stay was excellent. Buffet breakfasts were fantastic, however for once we did not visit the A La Carte restaurant for breakfast due to the increase of the supplement from 5 euros to 15 which we decided was not acceptable. All staff at the hotel as usual were brilliant without exception. There was a corporate function during the middle weekend of of stay where the conduct of those guests detracted from the usual ambience of the hotel (the hotel however cannot be blamed for this) We are already planning our visit for 2025 as we have found the hotel, it's location and the service given to be everything we want from our holiday in Playa Blanca.
SBH Hotel Royal Mónica

We have just returned from a 10 day stay here. This is a very good 3 star hotel. To summarise: Yes.. it is at the far end of Playa Blanca. If that doesn't suit you there are many other hotels which are more centrally located so don't book it. It is 3 stars. If you want a 5 star experience book a 5 star hotel and pay the going rate. Rooms.. very large. Plenty of wardrobe/storage space. Large bathroom. Cleaned 5 days per week (exc Weds and Sunday). Staff. All the staff here, no matter what their role, are friendly and very helpful. They all work long hours and how they keep smiling is beyond me! Bar.. drinks are fine (with some self service ..hot beverages, soft drinks) and included in your package until 11.00 p.m when you have to pay. This is common in many all inclusive resorts. The bar staff are great and put up with a lot at times (mainly from fellow Brits I have to say!) Food/restaurant. Staff are great. Very attentive. We loved the food! There is plenty of choice catering for all nationalities. If you want a ”proper full English” and fish and chips maybe try a resort elsewhere which caters for mainly Brits or go self catering and eat out. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the food in this hotel. It's excellent and we saw no evidence of the dining area being plagued by flies as outlined on a previous review. If you need something just ask! I got a sink plug by asking Housekeeping . Nobody can read your mind so if something isn't right it will be fixed if you make the hotel staff aware. We didn't partake of much of the entertainment as it's not our thing. There are things going on during the day (by a very enthusiastic group of youngsters) and evening but looked like it might not be enough for some clients if you wanted a full night of entertainment such as you might get in 5star. It is what it is! In summary: clean hotel, staff great, food great, drinks good, needs a bit of updating (plenty of maintenance crew working on it), gardens well kept, far end of the resort so maybe not for everyone, entertainment might not be enough for some but was fine for us.
Hotel LIVVO Volcán Lanzarote

We had a great stay, some downsides of cockroaches in the room (something which is ”normal” in Lanzarote according to the locals), so we changed rooms (with a little grimacing), this being the case we found some others in our new room with two single beds instead of a double bed which was our request on booking. Another downside in the room where we were we heard a lot of the pulling of chairs or other things like a move every evening and in the morning the waking up of the cleaning ladies (whom I respect for the thankless work they do) who pull their cleaning trolleys from 7:00 a.m. and which will inevitably wake you up. The good points, the excellent breakfast which is of great variety, we cannot judge the restaurant as we have not tried it. The swimming pool and the setting are really very beautiful. Small mention to Sabine, with whom we spoke at length, who gave us a lot of advice and was extremely kind.
