Just spent 10 nights all inclusive, I stayed in room 104 over looking the pool and with sea views and incredible sunrises 🌞 The food was fantastic, something for every one. And such friendly helpful staff. I’m astounded about the bad reviews for a budget hotel you really can’t go wrong with this place❤️

Now I'll start off by saying we are not afraid of booking 2* hotels, as we have done this a few times in the past and been pleasantly surprised - this was definitely no exception. We visited for 1 week from 29th Oct with 2 adults and 2 young children (5,8). We stayed in room 1303 I think it was - yes it was on the 13th floor and even though there were 3 lifts, it did take a while to wait for one - but that's our choice to be lazy, we could've taken the stairs. We had a 2 bedroom apartment - Yes it was a little dated but it was clean and very spacious. To be honest when I booked I'm sure it said no balcony and only a window, so we were very happy when we arrived with a large balcony and quite frankly the best view we'd had from a hotel so far. The shower worked fine, only think i will say is that over night there was always a strong sewage smell that came from the drains... but we just put the taps on for 5 mins and it would disappear. Ideal base for exploring the island. We had a hire car and we never struggled with finding space to park. Walking distance to shops and restaurants nearby - further to walk to Maspalomas but it was a nice walk on the front with the cats, which the kids loved. The supermarket shop next to the hotel is actually really cheap, even for the sun cream so go there first. Short walk to the beach - again you can stop nearby or walk along to the dunes, really nice walk. The pool wasn't heated and I only dabbled in it - I will compare to hose pipe temperature. The kids had no issues with it, although a little chilly once they were out! Food was the only downside I think really. We stayed all inclusive and yes there was always something to eat but it literally was a choice of meat or fish, with a type of potato. Churros for breakfast though with chocolate spread to dip in - happy days. We had steak on the first day lunch, but I think we peaked then - it was really nice though. But again it's a 2* hotel - no one became ill and we always found something and the kids didn't starve.. so win. All in all would we return? yes we would, probably the same time again. No fighting for a sunbed, all really relaxed. One thing i will say is there is no indoor pool like some of the sites advertise... it seems they have opened that out into the dining area now and boarded over it. Really not sure why they don't put kids entertainment on.. they have a projector for music videos... why not do a 30 - 60 min section of party songs for the kids... easy. Happy travels!

I'm genuinely at a loss to comprehend the negativity on these reviews. I don't recognise any of the complaints. Firstly, this IS a 2 star hotel. So this really does have to be taken into consideration when reading (and writing) reviews. I stayed here with my extended family, age range from 7 years yo 86 years old). All 11 of of us thoroughly enjoyed our 1st holiday to Gran Canaria at this hotel. We had 4 rooms between us (813, 911, 1204 and 1309) all were clean and 3 of them spacious. 911 and 1309 had new bathrooms with walk in showers). The staff were all very friendly, and a special mention to Angelo who epitomises this warm friendly, caring atmosphere. He's a real credit to the hotel. Mentions also for Naela, Carlos and Roberto who were all so friendly and accomodating. We were happy with the food at all meal times. Perfectly fine for a 2 star hotel. The pool is a bit cold, but it didnt stop us all from enjoying it. We would be very happy to stay here again if we visit Gran Canaria again. It's in a good location with the beach just 100 metres away and bars/restaurants within 5 minutes walk.

Never again. Room been upgraded for our 1 wedding anniversary, don't want to know what was the basic. JCB outside our door every day, bathroom with hole in it so every morning you can hear loud talking and pots and pans banging ( there was a kitchen on other side) Ask for 1 fresh pillowcase and have to answer 20 questions before I got one. End up with food poising.Fridge door wasn't shut properly. Beds are very uncomfortable. Cant rent a iron( have to minium for 7 days and its 4 euro a day) so have to buy an iron as I was only for 6 days so wanst allowed one. First time I wanted fo come back home early. So our 1st wedding anniversary ruined. Photos here doesn't match apart the one of swimming pool and some of the tables in dinning room. All them photos looks lovely here , some flowers etc our was very uninviting. Very disappointed. One plus of that hotel is the bar/restaurant staff very lovely.

Stayed here in mid February with my husband and 2 kids aged 6 and 13. We actually mixed thus hotel up with corona blanca which is more centrally located however we are frequent visitors to this area of gran canaria as we have friends who stay there so we were familiar with the area. It's about a 30min walk into central maspalomas and we walked along the beach most days. Check in was quick and reception staff were lovely. Make sure you print your confirmation as they don't accept just on your phone. I had to try and connect my phone to their printer to allow them to check us in. It wasn't a big issue tbh and check in was quick after this. We were in room 813 which has amazing views and we were just off of the lifts so convenient. I'm sure these rooms on each floor are the biggest as most of these were bought. Our room was a massive 2 bed with 2 balconies. 1 very very breezy though - omg!! Shower good. No smells, furniture abut dated however done the job for a week! Lifts take bloody ages tho and are very small so we always used the method walk down stairs and up in lift! All inclusive breakfast no complaints. On until 10am then nothing until 11am - when you can get your all inc drinks. Plenty to choose from at breakfast. Kids can get Ice cream from 10.30am. Lunch is 1 til 2.230pm - plenty to choose from for kids especially- pasta pizza, hot dogs, burgers, salads, soups and cakes. If they could have continued this into your dinner meal this would have been good for my kids. There was no separate kids buffet at dinner (served from 6pm) kids ate what adults had and to be honest my 6yr old turned his nose up at several evening dishes which wasn't good as he wasn't getting a proper meal. One evening I remember him having only mashed potatoes or chips as a choice as he didn't like the strange looking fish, strange looking pork and friend veggies (which was mainly peppers and courgettes). So we ended up having to eat out sometimes. This was our first time all inc in Gran Canaria as every other time we choose a more central apartment and go self catering. If you have children I'd recommend this - this isn't very good hotel for kids! Pool good size but bloody FREEZING!! and you don't get used to it. In past we've had apartment with heated pool and I'm sticking to this for next visit to CG! not very many kids around thus hotel and kids that were there (very few) spoke German. This is more of a German hotel I'd say than British. Most staff were very pleasant apart from one guy who worked in restuarant (bald older man) he was quite rude and didn't seem to engage with us at all unless we very buying something. If you asked for an all inc drink he was very dismissive. The wine was very good on all inclusive but that was it. After a few days I got fed up of all inclusive so I definately wouldn't do it again. Rooms cleaned 5 out of 7 days and maid were friendly. It was an OKAY stay but I wouldn't book here again unfortunately- sorry!

We are here right now! Honestly could not fault anything about our stay.. really unsure about the negative reviews Arrived at the hotel and check-in was prompt and reception staff were very polite.. We stayed on the 4th floor and benefited from a refurbished room which was spacious and spotless clean, room was cleaned every day we have been here The staff are fantastic and have been nothing short of helpful.. special mention to Angel who walks around with a smile on his face and is always on hand to answer questions or have a chat! 👍 Great location.. spacious hotel with great pool and plenty of sunbeds! We have never struggled for choice with the food.. it's your typical all inclusive.. we have enjoyed every meal and have been able to mix it up every day.. what do people want? 😂 Would definitely return! Thank you Corona Roja for an amazing break 😎 we will DEFINITELY be back!

We’re surprised how nice, cozy , clean the room we’ve had in this hotel. We stay in 1312 room and it has 2 balcony with chairs and tables with ocean view which we liked it very much and the staff were so kind also. Location is good. Would recommend it to anyone. Food is good not a lot of choices but you will never be hungry, breakfast have bacon egg and 2 kinds of sausages, and some fruits, croissants, fruits. Its a good value for money 👍 Would probably come back

All staff very rude bar one English woman Dawn. Food is very limited. BRUSSELL SPROUTS WAS A MAIN DISH ONE NIGHT!! Local beer Is OK, rest of options very poor. If u like to get up at 6am and go to bed at 8.30pm this is the place for you as the hotel expect quietness at 8.30/9 although all inclusive is on to 11pm. Absolute nothing to do for kids bar air hockey and dated pool table. No entertainment atall or a heated pool. Playing cards to try and get through the boredom is forbidden after 9pm also. If your staying at room 100 which is actually a half decent room be prepared to pay extra for the veranda lock that keeps bending and been straightened out and used again. Also if too loud 200 euro charge is applied and threatened with eviction if loss of money if doesn't improve. ( try telling a 4 and 6 year old that who are excited they are on holiday) utter shambles of a place. Kitchen where food is looks manky aswell !

We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel, as I was very sceptical after reading many comments here. Apartments are quite nice, renovated, spacious and with 2 balconies. Breakfast was Ok, staff was very nice and helpful. Amazing considering the price!

If you fly into las palmas airport you can get the number 66 bus to these apartments - corona roja apartments are on the gc500 carriageway at junction 43 - it's an imposing big building reminiscent of a prison - upon arrival I was allocated room number 205 on the second floor - this is one of the supposedly updated apartments and yes it was functional and quite modern with a decent kitchen and bathroom with shower - everything in room 205 works - entry to the apartment is by old fashioned key for which you pay a refundable deposit of 20 euros - the twin beds are of memory foam and are very comfortable - maids clean the room every day however don't change the sheets whatsoever - there is no air conditioning nor is there a fan in the room - I personally purchased a fan from the Carrefour store in Vicendario - this accommodation offers little for children and is mainly occupied by adults - disabled people will struggle in this complex - the pool area is fairly large with adequate sun beds - WiFi is free only in the reception area however you can pay for WiFi access in your room from the reception - television in the apartments is a payable option by a coin box - one euro per hour - one of the channels on offer is of an adult theme - I chose all inclusive however breakfast only is available - with regards to all inclusive the local beer and spirits were acceptable - the food was mediocre verging on the inedible - breakfast was fairly decent however lunch and evening meal was abysmal - I chose to eat out on many an occasion - by the way the elevators are not that bad contrary to others opinions - to conclude you get what you pay for at Corona Roja apartments - don't expect four star standards when you pay for hostal prices - would I return - unfortunately not

We travelled to this hotel on an all inclusive break just to get away and see the sun. So we knew it would be basic and budget. There’s basic and there’s basic, We stayed on the 3rd floor. The shower didn’t work, asked multiple times for it to be fixed but was told it was adequate in the end. See photos, Room was so outdated, cracks in the walls, paint peeling evwrywhere, not maintained at all. We also found cockroaches in the bathroom. Beds were made 2 times the 7 days we stayed Pool was fine. Shady in the afternoon. Drinks are available 11am-11pm. So between the hour after breakfast finishes at 10 and bar opening at 11am you can’t get a drink, asked for a water and still wasn’t allowed to go to the machine! Laughable, this is essential and should be available at anytime. Also cocktails there 5 to choose from, and when I say cocktails o use this loosely, it’s basically a spirit mixed with juice, not made up properly. It comes from a machine. Food basic, breakfast fine, meals all the same, again, budget, don’t take a biscuit or fruit with you to the pool, you're not allowed This is against “the rules” 3 lifts, nightmare for people on the highest floors, Wi-Fi only works in reception, even though it says free Wi-Fi on the booking Iv been to all in on budget 2* before, and had cocktails that were made properly, allowed to take food away as this is what you’ve paid for, had the bed made everyday Wi-Fi anywhere in the hotel. and a variety of meals, so when people are writing this is a budget 2* yes that’s what it says, but there are much better places that can be called 2* offering more. This is more like a hostel, or digs, bed and breakfast, not a hotel or anywhere near one.

Location is great .Short walk to beach ,bars , restaurants etc Rooms ..ours was fine clean ,spacious, comfortable. Cleaners came every 2nd day with towels etc Pool area spacious, nice pool ,kids pool needs cleaning however .Plenty of deck chairs ,parasols in need of repair or replacement. Smell from bins was vile however . Food is what let this place down and the lack of entertainment ( none ) We went all inclusive and it was a waste of money ..Breakfast was ok ,lunch was the same thing everyday ...so boring Dinner... not good at all ,poor choice . snacks. .... so pathetic ..Sandwiches made from left overs ..tasted fine if you were on time to grab one . Staff ..most of them were nice and friendly . Some visitors liked to have very loud ADULT conversations around the pool and lets just say it was very detailed and not for children's ears ...Wasn't ease dropping as it was hard not to hear !! very inappropriate. ( not hotels fault) won't stay again. Saying that everyone is different and I spoke to numerous people who go here every year .

I always believe in an honest review so here goes. We are a family of 8 over 3 rooms for a week all inclusive. Our initial start was good with an easy check in and polite receptionist. Although arriving late we still managed to use the bar till 11pm when the all inclusive drinks finished. One room was very dated and the shower didn’t work very well. The other 2 rooms were very modern. Complained about the shower but still wasn’t fixed, luckily we could use one of our modern rooms. The pillows are terrible so be warned. Although you don’t really need a tv while on holiday but didn’t use it as it was coin operated. (How very 1970’s). You have to pay for the safe also. The deposit of €20 per room was fine so make sure you have the cash when checking in. We did encounter cockroaches in the bathroom! The pool had plenty of sunbeds, although by 3pm 50% of them were in the shade, didn’t really clean around the pool daily and many many many cardboard cups blowing around. There was work going on so some drilling throughout the day. There is no daytime entertainment, so definitely not for kids. The umbrellas were mainly broken and very sparse. The all inclusive drinks were fine but getting a large drink to save time going back was a no no. The cocktails are very weak and tasteless, the difference in the drinks at other bars, was massive. The food was very repetitive for the week and some of us couldn’t eat much. Fish, veal and a bland bolognaise to say a few meals. Lunch was fine with pizza, hot dogs and burgers but even after a few days this was annoying. It was like a canteen most days. Make sure you eat all your dinner though so you’re not told off for wastage. There was no entertainment at all and limited music on the speakers so lacked atmosphere in the day and evening. I would not recommend the all inclusive option as we went out every night and spent more. Many of the staff here were brilliant, polite and even had a laugh with us, but be aware of one who thinks she owns the place, Exceptionally self centred and believes she is the dictator of the hotel. You are not changing the world with your attitude luv!! You are not allowed to take food away from the canteen, even if someone is a little tired and in the room! WiFi is not available throughout the hotel and is limited to the reception area only. You can pay for the local hotspot if you don’t have uk data. The location is very good, close to beach and easy access to the main resort. I would highly recommend visiting the Tipsy Hammock. What a great vibe with amazing food and drinks. On the final day the all inclusive finishes at midday and even though we weren’t flying till 8.30pm had to pay for the opportunity to eat the canteen food. We chose a different option of a nice restaurant at the beach. There is a supermarket and pharmacy on site and some shops nearby. Overall it is not worth the money you pay, they are updating the hotel but not sure how much of a difference this
