Hygiene is at a very low level. All the plates in the buffet were greasy, you waited for utensils, and they were dirty. The tables are never arranged. The rooms are also not cleaned well, the floor is dirty, the bathroom smells of sewage, the ventilation does not work, and the toilets are in the room . they don't have the most common travel cosmetics that even 3 star hotels have There is no hot water for bathing. the deckchairs are old, broken and quite worn out. there is no clean table on the beach or by the pool where you can leave your drink. All the tables are glued. the theater has very bad sound, three tenors were invited but it was awful to listen to it because of the sound. I can't accept that this is a 5 star hotel. The beach is beautiful and cocktails are very good. Good espresso. friendly staff, but not trained at all. there are guards everywhere and you feel good. the animators are also good. Lots of activities for children.

Frex at the clubhouse bar is FANTASTIC!!!! THANK YOU FREX!!🍷 AMAZING service, so friendly, enhanced our vacation! thank you FREX definitely recommend, had a fabulous time and will come back again.. absolutely!! Don't come here it is not adult only. Well the rooms are. The beach is PUBLIC so you can't go anywhere on the beach without screaming crying kids. I paid extra for adult only and that should mean the beach as well. I don't spend my time in my room but on the beach. Ridiculous.

This was an amazing trip. The hotel is awesome. We had a great time. The beach and grounds were immaculate. The entire staff was friendly and nice. I want to say special thank you to the management of the hotel. They try to make every guest as special and satisfied them of this nice resort. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and will be coming back!

We enjoyed our week stay in a premium room at Barcelo Bavaro Palace. The resort is gorgeous and situated on a prime section of Bavaro Beach. The great thing about this resort is most rooms are very close to the beach and we don’t have to walk far to find your spot in the sand. No matter which building you’re in, unless it’s the family/golf units. Beach chairs are never crowded but prime pool chairs must be ‘reserved’ early. For the price we paid, the food was great. Now we’re not comparing this to Michelin restaurants but we’re not paying anywhere near those prices. Premium level gets a restaurant every night so that was the best part. We spent time at the spa daily and have lunch at the buffet upstairs instead of downstairs with everyone else, although food is similar. Overall it was very enjoyable although I agree with some reviewers that the service and attitude of many employees can be improved and food quality has gone down through the years. For the price paid this is a great value.

It is worth it for those who go as a couple to stay at the Adults Only hotel. Much quieter and everything is designed for the adult public, meals, recreation, everything. The Buffett CARIBE restaurant is EXCELLENT...AND I MUST THANK especially the attention of María Salas from said buffet who always served us with a smile and made us feel welcome. Thank you.
