Mama Shelter Hotels in Rome

As part of our ongoing Europe trip, I stayed with my aunt and my friend for 4 nights; we booked 2 rooms, our bed looked like a double but was 2 single joined so it was great for me and my aunt as we separated the beds. The hotel had good amenities - private bathroom was huge although for some reason the lights would just turn off randomly? I don't know if it was just our room or everyone else's. The swimming pool is only opened in the summer!! so it was closed for us, which was sad. The staff was really nice and they gave us extra blankets, coffee machine and a kettle when we asked for it! Really appreciated their help and trust me there was so many large groups always arriving at this hotel so they were doing amazing. We paid for dinner once and a breakfast. Dinner was hit or miss - I loved my Chicken salad, but the others weren't impressed with the burgers they had but breakfast was definitely better. I think the star was the beans because wow they were good. The only major cons about the stay was that our room was located right next to the elevator (same as Florence) and it was noisy all morning and late at night, plus some construction at like 8am ish so please if you can, ask for a faraway room! Also the distance from the city centre was quite tiring, yes it is only 23 mins metro from the Torre Angela station but an 11 mins walk from the station to the hotel and with our suitcases and the station exit not having any elevators, it was hard work. To get to the hotel side, you need to first go down the stairs, then up the stairs and go down again so if you are walking from the station to the hotel, be prepared!

This hotel is in an incomparable location for those wishing to travel to or from Termini Station and the Termini metro station. It is in close proximity to many first class sites, including the Baths of Diocletian, Santa Maria Maggiore, and Santa Pressede. The atmosphere within the hotel is modern and restful --worlds away from the gritty hustle and bustle outside its doors. The Superior Double room that we were given was of good size, quiet and was recently decorated with very lovely wood accents. The bathroom looked modern; however, the grout in the shower was already showing signs of age. This might be attributable to the fact that there was no fan in the bathroom. The breakfast was generous and good for the most part. I did, however, find it shocking that , rather than picking the coffee cup up by its saucer, the waiter picked up the cup by its top (yuck) in order to refill it, leaving the saucer on the table. Given the reasonable price point, this hotel provides a good and predictable night's stay.

The hotel room is just like the picture, classic and old-fashioned, especially European style, beautiful. It is an older hotel, so it retains its decoration features. However, the bathroom is also relatively old-fashioned, but it is very spacious and can be used without any problems. Those who like to experience the style of the old era will probably like it. I have to mention the rooftop garden breakfast. The view is too painful. Watching seagulls and pigeons and the church opposite every day is so pleasing to the eye. The Roman style makes people relax. The breakfast is small but good. The croissants are well made, soft and sweet. There is also freshly made coffee. I have a cup of cappuccino every day. I don’t drink much coffee, but it is really the best coffee I have ever had. , even more so in the hotel coffee. It is very close to the attractions of the ancient Roman Coliseum and can be reached on foot.

The hotel is in a nice location with a train entrance just down the street. It was very clean, our room was very nice for the four of us and the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their breakfast every morning- it had a.good selection of breakfast food. Several great restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the wine bar next door - great food and wine. We also had wonderful drinks at Gatsby’s on the other side of the hotel. It was a 15 minute walk from the main train station which was not bad at all. We had a wonderful dinner around the corner at Vecchia Roma- you must make a reservation or get there before they open to get in line. We got there 15 minutes after they opened and waited 35 minutes for a table but it was worth it. We enjoyed our visit and would stay here again.

When the epidemic was the worst, I checked into this hotel. Two cases were found in Rome at that time. We went to breakfast. Some foreigners saw that we all pulled up turtleneck sweaters, but the hotel was very kind. Not only did we not abandon us at all, we also took care of us. Very courteous every time, the room was very comfortable, the mini bar was free, which surprised us a lot. We walked everywhere except the Vatican. I had to take a bus at the door. The breakfast was delicious. We ate for 4 days and highly recommend it. !!

The room is spacious enough for me and my friend to open our luggage at the same time and still lots of room to walk around with the case opened. The bed and linens are comfortable. Desk to long and wide, with two chairs allow us to use and put on daily skin care together. Only if they could setup slippers in room and add in tooth brush and tooth paste in the bathroom then it will be perfect. Location wise there are quite a lot of restaurants around and it is very close to the central terminal, just a 5-10 minutes walk. You can also take bus or train around to travel around attractions in Rome very easily. There are 2-3 receptionists in the check in counter, they are very knowledgeable to Rome and hotel product knowledge, hope they could keep smile on faces and more friendly. Also I request a non need service to our room to the housekeeping attendant on the second day, but we came back to the room and found it was cleaned. Attached the photo is the door stopper which I found good for the attendant they don’t need to bend their back and also to protect the door from getting starches at the same time.

Room was small, very small in fact. Turn to the left is the bathroom and the right is the bed area. However the room is well kept and clean. There are bath amenities available and breakfast was average. Location is very good as it js near to 2 metro - termini and republicca.

We stayed at Hotel ISA for 12 nights, and couldn't have picked a better location. It was in walking distance to many of the sights, and convenient to the Metro. The breakfast on the terrace was wonderful with a great view and variety of food. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was not on yet (which we found out is normal for Europe this time of year), and we requested a fan for our room. Within an hour or 2 they had delivered a floor fan which was a big help sleeping at night. The room was also equipped with soundproof widows. There are also many restaurants and gelato places near by for convenience. I would like to thank the staff for making our stay great, and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
