Shaoxing Hotels with Rooftop Pools

"What a pleasant surprise! This hotel is a hidden gem. It's tucked away and a bit hard to find, but their service is top-notch. They contacted us the day before, asking about our travel plans and if we were bringing elderly, children, or pets. Since we always travel with our furry friend, their pet-friendly policy was a huge deciding factor. The hotel is nestled within an old residential area, blending in perfectly without any sense of incongruity – it felt like discovering a new world in a bustling district. The surroundings are surprisingly quiet with low foot traffic. Even better, it's incredibly close to all the popular attractions, which meant we didn't have to trek far to enjoy the sights, while still having a peaceful retreat at the hotel. This was definitely the highlight for our family. The courtyard, with its charming bridges and flowing water, had a lovely spring-like vibe, perfect for artsy photos. After a long day of exploring, instead of going straight to our room, we relaxed by the pool, soaking up the sun – so serene and utterly relaxing. The room was spotlessly clean, and I loved the subtle, pleasant fragrance. The color scheme in the room was particularly appealing, both stylish and cozy. With the pool right outside the window and plenty of sunshine streaming in, it was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was quite varied, featuring many local specialties. The 'yinggao' (rice cake) was absolutely delicious; I ate three pieces myself! The handmade 'xiaohuntun' (mini wontons) prepared by the auntie were also incredibly fresh and flavorful – you could tell the ingredients were top-quality. P.S. It was a bit busy during breakfast, and the wontons and pumpkin 'miangeda' (dough drops) were made fresh to order, which was a very thoughtful touch. Although they accidentally gave our bowl of miangeda to another guest, they quickly prepared a new one for us. We totally understand that mistakes happen sometimes, and we still really enjoyed it. We visit Shaoxing frequently and will definitely be back if we get the chance. We highly, highly recommend this hotel!"

"Perfect for a family trip! The guesthouse is spacious, and the common areas are elegant, which my kids loved. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the private hot spring was so relaxing. Breakfast had a great variety and tasted delicious. The location is super convenient, making it easy to explore the ancient town. The service was attentive and thoughtful, making for an overall excellent experience."

"Prime location, a tranquil oasis in a bustling area! The hotel offers a hidden haven; it's right next to my husband's family home, yet you can't hear any of the outside noise from inside the hotel. The room was spacious and bright, exceeding our expectations! Parking was a bit tricky during the holidays as the hotel doesn't have its own lot, so we had to use the scenic area parking. The queue moved quickly, and it was a very short walk to the hotel. It's about a ten-minute walk to Cangqiao Old Street, and there are many popular restaurants nearby worth checking out! All in all, we'll definitely be back!"

"Getting to the hotel from the highway was quite convenient. They kindly upgraded our room when they saw I was traveling with my child and elderly parents. While there were a few minor issues after check-in, the hotel handled them promptly. The private hot spring was available anytime, with a circulation system that kept the water at a constant temperature, which was great – my parents and child really enjoyed it. The hotel was redecorated in '25, so the rooms are quite clean. The package we booked also included a case of 20-year aged yellow wine, which made a nice gift to take home! They even prepared a small gift for us when we left – the service was absolutely top-notch! The hotel is also very close to the Orchid Pavilion scenic area, just a 15-minute drive, so we stopped by there the next day. It was a pleasant trip! We'll definitely come back if we have the chance! 😀"

"The butler contacted me a day in advance to let me know that someone would pick me up from the parking lot, which was very thoughtful. When I arrived in Shaoxing, it was drizzling, and a small sightseeing buggy came to pick me up. Upon seeing the inn's lobby, I immediately felt a sense of comfort; the overall vibe was ancient and grand. The front desk lady informed us that we'd received a complimentary room upgrade, and since we were checking in early, she also mentioned that if we found anything not cleaned to our satisfaction, we could contact them anytime to have it taken care of. Walking down a hallway, I discovered a hidden gem inside, with lots of greenery. The moment I opened the room door, I was amazed – it was incredibly spacious, featuring a large tatami lounge area, and further in, the bed and a big TV. The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning. The bathroom was clean and had a separate wet and dry area. The next day, I found the breakfast selection to be quite diverse, and the noodles were exceptionally delicious! 😌 I had a very comfortable stay this time 😌 and I'll definitely be back."

"The hotel's setting is beautiful, located within Mirror Lake Wetland Park, making it very peaceful. The service was also excellent; they provided shuttle service for even the shortest distances. The front desk staff even upgraded our room type, and the room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast selection was rich and delicious. You can easily spend a whole day here cycling, taking a boat ride, hiking, and trekking within the park. It's not crowded, and the scenery is stunning. Highly recommended!"

"The room was standard, business-style, with a window but no terrace. I added them on WeChat beforehand to inquire about my arrival time and room arrangement, but unfortunately, when I arrived at the hotel at the booked time, I was told I would have to wait another ten minutes or so. By then it was already 3:15 pm, and not wanting to wait, I gave up the free upgrade (I had a company annual meeting that day, and the lobby was too noisy) and was given a room on the 7th floor. The breakfast was a mix of Western and Chinese dishes, but there was no local specialty, braised duck, and the taste was average. It's a 5-6 minute walk to Jinghu Wetland Park, where it's not crowded and you can stroll around freely."

"We chose Shaoxing for our third National Day stop. My dad had been asking for rice wine for two years, and we finally made it. Among the many hotels, we chose the popular Donghu Hotel. So, what was it like? Let me tell you. The garden itself doesn't look like a real garden; they've chosen this particular plot of land to create a hotel that resembles a garden. I think it's pretty average, nothing spectacular. Plus, they're on energy-saving mode, so the lobby and hallways are incredibly hot. The hotel will communicate with you in advance. I booked a duplex suite, but I don't think the layout matches the photos. The view is also average, with visible electricity lines and trees obscuring the view. Luckily, we'd asked in advance and used mosquito spray (we got bitten several times, and we couldn't get rid of them). The room was already open, but the decor was quite smelly. Service: Communication with the front desk and housekeeping was seamless. Any issues were handled. Cleanliness: Dust filled the corners of the room. Opening the curtains would cause a cloud of dust to form on the floor. Flies and insects were everywhere in the living room downstairs, and we didn't open the door. I think the duplex suite was the best place to start with the mosquito problem. The room door should have been filled with mosquito repellent. The carpet still looked a bit dirty, with tiny hairs on it. Breakfast: A complete mess. The larger the number of people, the worse it was. The food wasn't replenished promptly, and I had no idea what they were doing. Luckily, I was leaving. I have a feeling the National Day holiday will be even worse. The food wasn't good either. Restaurant: The Chinese restaurant was fully booked (by time slot). The only food options in the entire hotel are the Chinese restaurant and the buffet. It might be nice for a one-night stay, but staying longer isn't necessary. The food options are limited, and the buffet was average. The Chinese food was okay, though. We ended up eating in our room. Bed: Too soft, not for my taste. The National Day activities are pictured. We made cookies, fed the fish, and watched the fireworks (which only lasted three minutes). They have a mahjong room, suitable for seniors, but it's extra charge and probably outsourced. There's also a children's playground, so we had some fun. Summary: Not as good as I expected. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again in Shaoxing. It doesn't feel particularly mountainous, not very natural. The view from the room was just average. I think some apps over-embellish the view."

"The hostess at the guesthouse provided incredibly attentive service, and the pick-up/drop-off arrangements were very thoughtful. Its location within the scenic area is superb, making it ideal for families with children exploring the attractions. They even asked in advance if we were traveling with kids and prepared children's slippers and toiletries accordingly. Located right within the Keyan Scenic Area, a shuttle from the guesthouse promptly picked us up after we parked our car. After settling in and resting, they drove us to Luzhen for dinner. We then enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the quiet Luzhen at night before walking back to the guesthouse. The next morning, after breakfast, we were at the entrance of the Keyan Scenic Area in just 3 minutes by shuttle. We were among the first to enter, spent two hours exploring, and then took a boat to the pier. We simply contacted the guesthouse for another shuttle pick-up back to our room to relax further. This convenience was an absolute lifesaver, especially traveling in summer with a child. Highly recommended!"

"It's really a good deal to stay in this hotel during the off-season! My kids came from Shanghai after school on Friday, and we saw the most beautiful sunset in Nayuan. When you open the window in the room, you can see the super healing mountain view, which is very comfortable to look at with green all over. The room is very clean, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and there is nothing wrong with the details. The bathtub is by the window, and it's super comfortable to take a bath and look at the mountain view! There are also a lot of things to do in the hotel, such as the infinity pool and the indoor constant temperature pool, and the children have a lot of fun. There is also a bamboo bonfire in the evening, and it's very atmospheric to sit around and chat, and sing karaoke to your heart's content. The hotel also has many activities arranged, so you won't feel bored even if you don't go hiking. There are also some animal friends, which the two kids like very much. I had six meals in the Nayuan restaurant, and every dish was delicious. The meals are all self-produced fresh ingredients. I thought this configuration would be very expensive, but it turned out to be very cost-effective! This off-peak travel experience is great, there are few people and it's quiet, and I had a lot of fun. It's definitely worth coming again!"
