Stayed here after a bad experience at a hotel down the street. Luckily found a good rate and was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in upon our arrival around 10am. Super helpful front of house staff. The room was huge for a standard room and the bathroom had great facilities. Bed was large and very comfortable, and really appreciated the walk in closet as well as fridge in the room. Location wise you are super central, with a lot of amenities like Starbucks and Walgreens just across the street. Maybe more of a SF issue than the hotel, but did feel a little uncomfortable being out in the area in the evening due to the large numbers of homeless on the streets - we saw on a few occasions people harassing guests coming in and out of the hotel, but was handled well by the reception staff. Main reasons for one star being knocked off was firstly the AC in the room. While the window was openable, it was quite unnerving to have it open on the 10th floor. We hoped the AC would compensate for this, however it would not go below a pre-set temperature level when we could’ve appreciated some cold air coming in. We did ask the front desk twice about this and they said they’d send up maintenance to manually change the limiter but unfortunately this never happened. The reception area also can become incredibly loud in the evenings with the bar having live music - there were times I could not hear the staff talking to me due to the volume. It also took a considerable amount of time to check in, at least a 10+ minutes process which began to be irritating if we had something to ask but had to wait behind large groups to check in. We also did not get bathroom amenities restocked on three occasions. These may seem like trivial issues, but for the price point of the hotel these should not be issues in the first place. Otherwise however we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend.

The staff are friendly and mostly can speak cantonese. The location was alright, difficult to find on the first day. Parking in SF is generally expensive. Room was dusty and the sofa give me rashes. However, the walk from Powell Station has a street of homeless people which I feel unsafe for ladies and young kids.

I want to share my recent experience at this hotel, which I regretfully cannot recommend. The hotel has an attractive location but is marred by a lack of basic amenities and poor customer service. During our six-night stay, we discovered on the second morning that there was no hot water. We informed the receptionist, Andy, but were met with a dismissive and rude attitude. We were informed that there would be no hot water for the rest of the day, and this lack of basic amenities was for a total of three days of the six days of our stay. Please note that according to California Civil Code §1940.2, it is the responsibility of the hotel to provide and maintain hot and cold running water for guests. To make matters worse, when we requested to check out early due to this issue, we were offered no refunds as our stay was prepaid on expedia. Expedia told us that the property was to decide while the property said it was expedia.. As I am a hotelier myself, I know it is the hotel’s call in the end. We were offered a shower facility in a separate building which was very inconvenient as we had to walk out of our building and take elevators to get there.. This was not a suitable alternative to the basic amenity that we had paid for. To add insult to injury, at time of check out, Andy offered us only $80 as a refund on a reservation worth over $1500, what a humiliating act, we could not believe it! Better not to offer anything, because really it is a shame to offer this to people.. We were one of the many customers to complain, and we saw that the receptionists had no sympathy towards anyone.. Yes, all businesses are there to make money, but not like this. What they did is close to stealing from someone! I cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers, and I will continue to write on other platforms to warn people..

The hotel is located on the street behind Union Square, which is very convenient to reach in 5 minutes. The starting point of the tram is also there. The room is not big but very clean. If you need anything, just tell the front desk and they will basically solve it. I would like to remind you that there will be many homeless people on the street next to the hotel in the evening. Walk around it, and don't look at them even if you see them. It's still safe. Overall it's OK.

It's a hotel with some proud history. They've arranged a corridor to introduce their past and the hotel is elegantly decorated. There's some sort of package that I've paid for at trip.com. that I didn't really know about and they've given me 20 dollar allowance to use for the hotel food because of this. The room is clean, and basically you could use the lift by yourself because it requires you to enter your floor number before you get in the specific lift. The hotel is right in front of the union square so you're accesible to many stuff. I've talked to some guests at the breakfast place and some of them have come here many times. I think I would come again some time, if SF city has less homeless and become cleaner, like it used to be.

Lovely hotel, in a great location, good access for the city, comfortable with great communal spaces. The staff are all really friendly and helpful, 2 people of note to mention The guy behind the bar is brilliant, knowledgable, friendly and funny, a real pleasure. There is a (really) young lady on reception/check-in, she is lovely and I don't want to knock her, but she needs more training, her default is to say no to everything, not because she is being difficult, I just don't think she has the knowledge or authority to find solutions. It makes it frustrating for me as the customer and I'm sure, for her, trying to deal with people and not resolving issues. It makes you avoid her and wait for someone else to deal with. The Concierge and Valet Parking staff were brilliant, took away all the thinking on parking and restaurants etc. We would definitely stay here again if in San Fransisco

average visit, maybe I expected more given their reputation. I visited SF for a two-day concert so I expected not to stay too much in my room anyways. Picked the Ritz primarily for the location. Also this was my first time staying under my own name so always wanted to get the welcome envelope with my name on it. (They misspelled it 😔) Booked via Amex’s FHR primarily for the early check-in at around noon and late checkout. I received an upgrade to a City View room but I must’ve arrived too early because my room was not really prepared. It had a few missing amenities like slippers, dental kits, combs etc. No welcome gifts other than chocolate. Only ate breakfast there but food is okay. Great portions though! Most of the time, I left the hotel at 10/11am and came back after midnight. One time no valet was there to pick up my car so had to call and request someone to pickup my car. Otherwise, all other services and staff were pleasant. The bedding and Frette linens were fantastic and it helped me sleep well. You also get a bottle of water EVERYTIME you pick up your car from the valet! I actually really like this since the only thing I could bring to the venue were sealed water bottles! Wifi was good, great for work and meetings. For a 5-star hotel, it wasn’t amazing compared to what I had heard. Might pass next time I’m in SF.

The location is great, near Union Square, and all the staff are nice and friendly.
The room is clean and reasonably spacious.
I don't speak English, but there was no major problem with language communication.
I gave a tip of $10 each to the person who moved my luggage and the cleaning teacher.
By the way, the person who moved my luggage willingly took a picture of me, who was alone, so I liked it even more!
The streets outside here aren't bad, but villains roam around often, so be careful.
For reference, since San Francisco 9.4 was an American holiday, there were not many people and it was very dangerous for an Asian woman to walk alone, especially at night!

Was here for holiday, chose this location as heard it is one of the safer areas. It was too bad, just that opposite the park there are quite of bit of homeless people sleeping.
Location was alright, was accessible to Fisherman wharf, Golden Gate (took Lyft all the way). Around $10 to $25 per trip.
Service was quite good, the staff was friendly and helpful. Even the cleaning staff was cheerful and greeted everyone.
However for the room, it was not the best, not what i would expect of Hilton having frequent the brand in other countries. Unlucky as got one of the un-renovated rooms. Room was outdated. The shower is a one way, so you can't control the flow of the water. There isn't even a sink stopper to fill the tub. Overall because of the room, wasn't the best for me.

GGuest UserThe staff were very friendly and the facility was clean.
I enjoyed my stay with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening.
Because it was near the station, sightseeing was easy.
I still want to use it.
GGuest UserGreat stay with a great in-house Indian chef at their restaurant. Food was excellent. Not a grandiose property but was excellent for a base for day trip around San Francisco and walking out in the city. Staff was excellent. Only minor quip would be that I supposedly got a 2 level upgrade on my room. However, the view of the room was horrible and on a relatively low floor. I guess you need a ”20 level” upgrade to get a nice room. That said, having booking through Amex FHR and having those benefits, it made the stay nice.
WWendyQZBThe room is clean and of moderate size. The hotel provides reusable silicone travel cups and drinking water, which can be used at any time, which is environmentally friendly and convenient. The food in the restaurant is not expensive, the sundaes are delicious, and the coffee is good. The best thing is the location of the hotel. Fisherman's Wharf is right outside, in n out is a five-minute walk, and Dangdang Bus Terminal is a five-minute walk away. It's great.
GGuest UserThe property seems completely new.. everything is fresh, beautifuly designed and clean. Staff is great, helpful and happy to help. Slight glitch - often the front desk is very busy ( it's a big hotel) and only on charming staff member.. ? Pool (not heated) is cool, as they write on the wall... with many pool ”inflatables” for the guests. Room is big, spacious, comfortable and of course, as clean as they come. Play room next to the lobby is a gem for a family after a long day. Huge bonus: free (neatly designed) bikes to hotel guests! ( first in first served). A fantastic experience in san francisco, caza hotel had a big part in it.
GGuest UserThis is a special place, no doubt. Every room is individually decorated and provides some retro Mafia/ Italian style interior. Even the group bathrooms are really with such level of detail, especially with it‘s historic armatures. Extroadinary and droll antiques are displayed on all floor levels which makes this place very cosy with a shabby attitude. So what‘s the „cons“? I am generally a friend of shabby, but if shabby becomes tacky than this could become problematic. Some examples. Dust was spread all over the room including lamps, wardrobe, etc. Which led to the impression that my room has not seen professional cleaning for a while. The room was fitted with a carpet which best days were over since a couple of decades. The carpet in my room showed a number of stains, which were ideally referring to some good red wine, but I felt uncomfortable walking in the room without shoes on. Finally the bed linen also showed some stains and I detected black hair on the pillow. So the overall summary is that the stay could have been much cosier and comfortable due to the unique in- and exterior of charming San Remo, but tidiness is key! Another positive aspect to mention is the fantastic location as Fishermans Wharf, Lombard Street and Golden Gate Park can all be reached easily in a couple of minutes by foot. So I really don't know if I liked this place or not, also given the fact that San Remo is not a bargain... Make your own views...
GGuest UserLOVED this hotel on my recent stay in San Francisco. It was quiet, clean, and in a GREAT location! It is walking distance to many shops, restaurants, the subway, and union square. I enjoyed the coffee, water, and tea bar in the lobby, although there were a couple times the coffee was not available. I felt safe with them locking the front door in the evenings. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to San Francisco!
GGuest UserI used to be a frequent guest at the W SF back when it was Starwood but had not visited since Marriott took over the W Brand. I did try and stay last year but before arriving I read that the restaurant was closed and I asked the hotel what they were doing as an alternative, but they had absolutely nothing for Platinum Breakfast (other than 1k points per stay which is a HUGE downgrade), so I opted for another hotel. I had high expectations for this stay as I had previously loved this hotel, but as a frequent traveler in Marriott brands and having one of their Highest Elite traveler statuses (and staying at W Brands lately), I knew service levels were still suffering post pandemic. Unfortunately, it started low right from the beginning. I had confirmed a Studio Suite in advance. When I arrived, I was given a corner room that almost seemed smaller than standard rooms (Room 2109). I inquired about upgrades to larger rooms, and I was told no, because it was a busy weekend, and nothing would be available. I checked on the app and saw that every room type was available for the length of my stay and beyond. I was basically DOWNGRADED. Once settling into the room, then I realized the major issues. Smaller rooms should be easier to clean, right? Well, this one not only had carpet stains, but I quickly found out that the ”Marriott Commitment to Clean” was actually a Commitment to Ignore. Not only were their stains on the carpet and dust and dirt in the windowsills, I found a previous guest's room keys sitting on the counter. Obviously, the room was just ”re-set” and not inspected or cleaned at all. I guess the promised sanitizing was out of the question. We then went to get some ice and noticed that the ice bucket was half filled with standing water. It was disgusting! Thats not the worst part, I then found a pair of women's ”play-style” lingerie slightly soiled sitting on the floor by the sofa. I mentioned the cleanliness issues to the Front Desk, but the representative simply stared at me and then asked if there was anything else I needed? I should have been a bit more insistent that they take it down, but I was so shocked I did not. The room setup, although smaller than what I wanted and pre-confirmed, was also not great. There is no storage at all other than the closet. There are no drawers at all or other places to keep clothes or anything else. If you have two suitcases, you are going to have to keep them out as there is no place to put them in the closet. Other than the Front Desk and Room Condition, we had a nice stay, although the Room is really what we paid for. The rest of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff were great, and the food was amazing! Kudos for them for sure! Actually, the only place I was every recognized or thanked for being a Marriott Elite was from the hostess at Breakfast. The bellhop was also quite nice and helpful when we checked-out and needed to store lugga
GGuest UserMy wife and I enjoyed an amazing few days at the Hotel Triton. We were greeted by a helpful and friendly staff. As an added bonus, we arrived during Happy Hours so started our Staycation with complimentary beer and wine! Great location near Dragon’s Gate to China Town and a short walk to Union Square. Our room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. If planning a stay in San Francisco Hotel Triton is hard to beat! While it was our first stay here, it definitely won’t be our last.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a fantastic spot for tourists looking to stay on a convenient spot but who don’t need or want to pay for luxury. When staying at a more affordable hotel, cleanliness is by far my number one concern and, although the property is clearly on the older side, it was clean. Other reviews note the situation with their towels. I’ll admit, reading them I was thinking that people were probably being a bit precious and expecting too much. However, this is literally the thing stopping me from giving 5/5. The towels were TINY. As in the biggest towel would normally qualify as a hand towel. I am 6ft and struggled to dry myself after using the two that were provided. It would be better if the hotel noted that it is advisable for guests to bring their own towel because the provided ones are pretty inadequate. Seriously, how much is a new set of towels!? Change that and you’re 5/5 for sure.
BBryan GThe staff was very informative, polite, and kind. The front desk manager walked me from the office and down the sidewalk to show me the entrance to where I could find my room. He even helped me solve a kind of tricky situation with competence and ease allowing for compromise and a win-win situation. Honest folks here and a nice stay over.
