Hotel Griffon

My favorite place to stay in San Francisco. Always great.

Original reservation was a Deluxe King size room city view. Upon arrival we got a small room with a king size bed, view was the building across the street. Reception was nice, enough. Parking was not available at hotel, and we had to go across the street, and we had to play $76 for the day. At night while sleeping we were woken up to the noise of mice scratching the basket of hand towels under the sink. It was a mice! We slammed the floor with a shoe to scare it away and we weren’t able to sleep after that. We left first thing in the morning. We were definitely not expecting that experience.

Super nice older hotel but clean and updated. Close to oracle park. Probably walking distance but it was raining so we drove. Staff was super friendly also. Definitely will stay again

The best hotel I have ever stayed at in San Francisco! Safe location, a bit away from tourist areas, but right by the Ferry building. Staff gave me an upgrade to a room with a view due to my ******* VIP status. I didn’t even have to ask! Beautiful sunrise every morning❤️I will be back.

I love the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They do not offer parking but it was easy enough to find a safe garage close by for a reasonable rate. I would stay again!

Quaint Hotel, Great bed, prefect size room for a couple, and love the exposed brick in each room. Wonderful restaurant, reasonably priced and the water pressure in the shower...WOW! Highly Recommend!

We booked the hotel very last min. I called with questions and Regina was very helpful. We arrived in the evening and because of my ******* account we received a free upgrade to a king suite which was such a nice surprise. The hotel was vintage, chic with a modern twist. We loved it. It was quiet, clean, safe area right by the arrow and bay bridge! Easy access to street car and bus if needed about 1.5 miles from fisherman wharf. Only downside which has nothing to do with the hotel is parking! That's a city thing. Be prepared to pay $35-$80 depending on where you stay. I used the spot hero parking and paid $20 for overnight and just one 1/4 block over. Like a 3 min walk. Our suite was huge with a balcony, shower/ tub with amazing hot water pressure. Bed was so comfy we slept like babies. Fridge, tv, and desk if needed. Overall our stay was affordable, perfect and when we visit again we will def stay. Thank you to the staff everyone was very friendly! Ps there is a restaurant on site but we didn't have the chance to eat there. Thank you hotel Griffon for a wonderful stay.

Excellent find in the perfect spot in San Francisco. Excellent views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Lots of dining options around. Highly recommend.

The hotel’s location is great. Walkable to the Embarcadero and Chinatown and close to the BART and other light rail stations. My room was okay. It was by the elevator, so it was noisy. Also, the bed wasn’t great. Noisy and can feel the springs. The sink is in the living area separate from the toilet and shower. However, there wasn’t a hook to hang towels, so the towels are just resting in the limited counter space of the sink.
