Venus Hotel
"Convenient and clean hotel with no frills."
Cassia Hill Resort
"Amazing location and room, but couldn’t really get service from the person at the front desk nor the one security guy on site who also functioned as the repair guy. We didn’t have lights to our shower area, side table, or front porch, and it was pitch black, but lighting couldn’t be remedied. It’s too bad we didn’t have more time to enjoy the location in the daylight."
Pine Ridge Lodge
"This ecolodge is beautifully maintained, with gardens, walkways, plantings large and small, and patrolled by a flock of guinia fowl. The cottages are cute, they look like they came out of a fairy tale book. My cottage was half a cottage, since I was alone. I loved it, but it had only one electrical outlet, which made charging devices tricky. the owner went out of his way to make me feel welcome. He also cooks many of the meals, which are exquisite and personally brought to you. Yorkshire pudding was part of one meal. Although I was birding and did record a couple dozen species from this property, my guide and I travel each day. The road goes directly to Caracol, although the last half of the trip is rough, with road construction actively underway. There is also a butterfly farm nearby that is worth a few hours, because it has more than butterflies! I highly recommend Pine Ridge Ecolodge!"
Arnold's Guest House
The West House Boutique Hotel
Maya Bella Downtown Hotel
"A pleasant hotel located in the center of San Ignacio, close to the bus stop and several restaurants. The balcony with the pool is a lovely place to spend the late afternoon. Although breakfast isn't included, they offer black coffee with bananas, which is a nice touch for those leaving very early for excursions."
The Log Cab-Inn
"I can speak English. It was very comfortable with a beautiful camping image."
Crystal Paradise Resort
"Crystal Paradise is a heavenly place that lives up to its name. I went with my Birding group last week and I was thrilled by the space beautiful rooms ,the delicious food, the wonderful kitchen staff who prepared me vegetarian and fish meals. Special shout out Carolita for your fabulous home cooking. Eric was our birding guide he was second to none, son of Victoria the owner. Alba his wife is also charming and on staff. Delicious picnic meals were prepared for us with proper napkins and a tablecloth! You can see spectacular birds on the beautiful grounds and feeding trays and enjoy watching them from a comfy rocky chair. I really love my experience. I can’t wait to go back."

Ka'Ana Resort & Spa
"The room was very clean and spacious. All the waiters are warm and attentive. We were leaving for a tour group early in the morning, so we asked the front desk to arrange a packed breakfast in advance."
Cahal Pech Village Resort
"Beautiful resort at the top of the hill close to the ruins. Beautiful pool and cabanas. Food is great especially the cheesecake!"
Las Haciendas
"We spent 6 nights at Las Haciendas and highly recommend it as a place to base yourself in San Ignacio. The room (1 bedroom Villa) was spacious and clean. The kitchen nook perect for our cooking needs. The bathroom extremely spacious with a huge walki-in shower. And the plunge pool made for relaxing afternoons/evenings after hot tours in the area. The location is on the outskirts of San Ignacio but within walking distance of a couple supermarkets and restaurants, as well as, the Mayan archeological site Cahal Pech. We also walked into town for dinner a couple times (30 minutes). Leda, the manager, was absolutely fantastic with prior communications and organizing our tours. Literally the best we’ve ever dealt with. Abi, the on-site maintenance manager was also great responding to a couple small issues we had - gecko in the outside air con unit made contact on the control board and shorted outh the system but he rectified that immediately. One hint regarding the AC…the indoor unit blows toward the bed which we didn’t like so we hung a blanket over the bed canopy structure bars to block the AC from hitting us directly. Also, if you set it on DRY mode at night, the fan speed slows down and we slept great. Highly highly recommend staying at Las Haciendas. Quality-price ratio versus many of the resorts we checked online was why we chose to stay here and it really paid off. Thanks to all the staff!"
Kane Villas - Mountain Pine Ridge
"Another great stay at Kane Villas. This trip is our 3rd time staying here and everything has always been well taken care of. We rented out all 3 Villas and as always, they are stocked with the necessary things for a great stay. The Pool and grill area was a highlight for family night, grilling and enjoying the pool. Thank to Nello for keeping the grounds and pool impeccable. Catherine, thank you for always getting us booked and in us having a place to stay in the MPR. Overall Kane Villas is a true Gem in this area full of serenity. Highly recommend!!! Thank you!"
Blancaneaux Lodge by Francis Ford Coppola
"Blancaneaux was absolutely amazing! We loved every second of our stay. From the moment Fransisco met us at BZE we knew we had found the perfect family get away. Fantastic food. Genuine people. Beautiful property. Nestled in nature. Seamless transitions. Top notch tour guides. Blancaneaux has it ALL!"
San Ignacio Resort Hotel
Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge
"We are not usually resort people, but Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge completely won us over. The property spans 7,200 acres with over 100 miles of well-maintained but adventurous hiking trails. Everywhere you go, there is peaceful solitude, and the spectacular waterfalls and streams along the clearly marked trails often feel like they are all yours. With only about 20 guests at a time, it truly feels like your own private wilderness. We were there for four nights but could have easily spent much more time exploring the property itself. Beyond the lodge, the Mountain Pine Ridge area offers many incredible sights worth exploring. The lodge perfectly balances wilderness with five-star luxury. The massive trail network is clearly signed, and the provided walkie-talkies make exploring safe and easy, with drop-off and pick-up options allowing you to go farther without feeling managed or crowded. The birding is exceptional, with some rare species including orange-breasted falcons and king vultures. The property boasts some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, and you will more than likely have them all to yourself. The staff, including Kenny, Johan, Catherine, Roger, Marvin, Kevin, and many others working behind the scenes, are extraordinary. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care reflect pure Belizean hospitality. They guided us on a property and trail tour to help us get familiar with the grounds, assisted with logistics, made spectacular food and cocktails, including picnic lunches for our hikes, and always made us feel completely at home while also being fun and welcoming. Our room was breathtaking, beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean. Thoughtful touches like an indoor and outdoor shower, a massive screened-in porch with chairs and a hammock, natural bug repellent, and a little bedtime story with homemade sweets at turndown made our villa a private, five-star sanctuary. Our screened-in porch was undoubtedly one of our favorite places to be. Sitting there with coffee or a cocktail, enjoying the completely peaceful Mountain Pine Ridge landscape with no other buildings or people in sight, and listening to the birds felt deeply restorative and luxurious. The views made it easy to feel fully immersed in nature. The hikes left us energized (and with a healthy appetite!), and the food and cocktails were quite simply phenomenal, the best food we have ever had, paired with creative, expertly made cocktails. Every meal was remarkable and beautifully crafted, with extraordinary care and attention to detail. The prices were also surprisingly reasonable, which was an unexpected and very welcome plus given the exceptional quality and creativity of every dish. Hidden Valley is one of those rare places where you can completely unplug, immerse yourself in nature, and feel like you have a vast, serene world all to yourself. By the end of our stay, we felt restored, inspired, and deeply grateful for the beauty around us and the incredible"
