A truly magical stay in the stunning dolomites! The facilities and amenities are incredible, our room was a new garden room which was spacious, luxurious and well thought out for a ski holiday. The new luxury spa and gym were great to use after a day on the slopes to unwind and relax. The ski in/out, ski school and ski hire was so easy to sort, this is skiing made easy at the highest level. The food was very good and varied, you had a nice choice of options for dinner along with a good breakfast and lunch. The drinks, in particular the cocktails, were on another level; there are cocktails and there are cocktails! Their signature cocktails are thoughtful and well prepared using their own homemade ingredients, some of which, take 6 months to prepare. What really made this holiday special though was the incredible staff, who were happy, so passionate and so friendly. Literally nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was Simona looking after us in the restaurant or Luka and the bar staff preparing their take on a Mai Tai for us, we were made to feel very special. We have made some very special memories here, some new friends and are now emotionally connected to this wonderful hotel. It is was clear the staff are very happy working here and there were a vast number of repeat guests; some we spoke to, were on their 9th year. The Call family have created a very special place here with a winning formula. Will we be back? We have already reserved our room for next year. The view from the hotel is amazing. You can sit there drinking afternoon tea and have some cakes or join the interesting activities organised by the hotel. You can reach the most famous points all within 1.5 hours. You can also have packed lunch if you cannot come back

We had a memorable stay in this very professional and kid-friendly establishment. We thank the service of Simona and all her colleagues in the restaurant (Myriam and all the others), as well as the reception, the tips and tricks of Mr Call every evening and the kindness of the housekeeping staff. The infrastructure is complete and well maintained, the dishes are delicious and the place is magnificent.

Before Excelsior Life Dolomites, I'd only stayed in really big ski hotels -- either Club Med or large-format resorts like the Fairmont. I was a little worried about a "DIY" type holiday where I had to arrange lessons, rentals, etc. on my own. Excelsior Life has convinced me that boutique is the way to go! Everything was just perfect -- the amazing food, the huge spa(s), ski-in/ski-out, the family-format rooms, the games room for the kids. The staff were so accommodating and truly remembered each guest. I made heavy use of the Whatsapp help line to get information about the village and activities and they always responded so promptly. Some pleasant little surprises: - Wash & fold laundry service for only EUR10 / bag - Ski rental delivery right to/from our lockers - Ski pass and ski school offices steps away from the hotel - Very cool cocktails and live music on many nights - Can walk into the village, which is very charming

The hotel is beautiful, in a spectacular location. Covered parking is great as is the 3/4 food option, you definitely won’t go hungry. As a couple, we were pleased to have an adult pool and spa area. These were very busy at times though so couldn’t actually swim. The food was spectacular at times and at others quite strange, also the same with the staff, some were lovely and smiling, others clearly in the wrong job. We were happy to leave as on the last day there were children running around the dining room everywhere and it was chaotic.

Wow, what a fantastic hotel. The Excelsior has it all, great location, friendly staff, great service, ski-in/out, ski lockers, Spa, infinity pool and fantastic gourmet evening meals. The Call family have created a ski hotel that won’t disappoint. We enjoyed a great week there. The hotel is luxurious and has great attention to detail. Every area is well thought through. The skiing in Kronplatz was great for intermediate level skiers and the snow / pistes are the best we have skied on. The weather for the week was mainly cloudy and often that meant poor visibility, especially at the top of Kronplatz. While the area had little snow, the ability to make snow meant that whilst it concerned us before we arrived it was a complete non issue.

Had the most amazing week at Excelsior with my 2 kids. I think this is probably the best family holiday we've been on thanks to the incredible staff and facilities. - Rooms - we had the new Costello Star Suite and it was a spectacular room with it's own sauna & hottub, an incredible view and very comfortable for family of 4 (we love that there were 2 bathrooms!) - Food - We loved the food. We looked forward to picking the menu for dinner every morning. The ingredients were always fresh, options ample and wine list spectacular. Best Cabonara & tiramisu I've ever had :). - Facilities - The hotel was so so comfortable and convenient. We loved the ski lockers, the spa facilities and kids love the game room. I loved that nothing ever felt crowded. - Service - all the staff were really friendly and responsive. I was shocked when they offered to just unload our luggage from our car and even park the car for us! - Other pros - laundry was only 10 euros a bag! Total lifesaver and it was done within hours! Only small cons I have was that the pillows & towels feel a bit stiff and would love for dinner to start a bit earlier like at 630 or 7pm as our kids were falling asleep at the table every night! Small points though, we would definitely be back! Have already recommended this hotel to 10 friends!

When you start off a review with a heartfelt Thank You then you know you have found something Amazing! To the Call Family and the entire staff at the Excelsior THANK YOU! Thank you for the most fantastic service, unparalleled beauty, superb amenities, and most of all the phenomenal cuisine. The moment you walk into the lobby of the Excelsior you are greeted by warm smiles and a warm welcome (thank you Lucia). The staff at the Excelsior goes to the limit to make certain you are very well taken care of. The attention to detail for each guest is incredible. Yes, there are many unique places in the Dolomites to stay, but Excelsior and the town of San Vigilio, Marebbe embraces your heart when you stay. The beauty of the area is awe-inspiring. Above all with everything the Excelsior has to offer, the most remarkable part of the stay (which we had 5 glorious days) was the fact Mr. Call (proprietor) every morning and every evening came and greeted and chatted with each guest personally. Mr. Call’s geniality was the added touch for our incredible stay. None the less, this review is real, and this review is sincere, and I encourage anyone reading this to give a first and only look at Excelsior. You will not be disappointed.
