The staff are very friendly. The sunset at Tachen Cliff is also spectacular. It's full of flowers and is always well-maintained. There are also pools for adults and children. However, there are no toothbrushes provided. But if you ask, they will give it to you.

I am staying here at the moment. My expectations had been lowered by some of the reviews, but for me this is a five star place. I don’t go for the corporate swish everything refurbished vibe. So I feel relaxed here, the food is amazing, the staff are excellent and we are loving our stay.

We chose this hotel as a quiet and restful place to stay while on Gozo. It was rated as a five star hotel. Trust me, it isn't. The rooms are spacious, the grounds are lovely and the staff very attentive; however, the beds are absolutely awful. Every time you move, the entire bed moves and jiggles around. The pillows are mush and feel like they are full of little chunks of foam. And they have a funny smell. The chairs are threadbare. The remote control was held together with duct tape. The air conditioning was not available. The bathroom had broken tiles and the bathtub was very small and slippery - quite dangerous actually. And the bathroom had a leak somewhere that made the tile floors very, very slippery. I did go to the spa as well. Very rudimentary and the technicians doing my mani and pedi did not do a good job. It is in a very peaceful location and had nice pools, but this is not a five star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. After having stayed at many five star hotels this place would rank as a three at the very best. If you are looking for comfort and a bit of luxury, look somewhere else.

Returned to this gem of a hotel - you feel yourself relaxing as soon as you walk into Reception. Amazing views from the Restaurant terrace overlooking the stretch of water over to Malta . Wonderful friendly staff & excellent food . One of my ‘ Happy Places ‘ Will definitely return once again ……..

Worst hotel and service ever. Old, not clean, not functional, not helpful. This hotel should be rated 3 star. The mattress was uncomfortable due to its age, the bathroom was with mold, walls and light shades unclean, fridge not working and it ruined my birthday cake because it melted, the receptionist not helpful but very rude for not helping, the breakfast did not even have real orange juice, it had fake flavour, from the room we hear the people using the pool speaking aa well. Never again. Not recommended.

Firstly, this is not a five-star hotel. If you come expecting that then you will be disappointed. It is of generally three-star quality with four-star facilities. Not being critical, just managing expectations. Some of the (many) positives: 1. The hotel has a great range of facilities and many of the rooms open out directly onto one of the pool areas. 2. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. They obviously work hard and standards of cleanliness, maintenance & service are excellent. 3. The bedroom is air conditioned and also has a ceiling fan. There is a small but pleasant outside seating area. The bed is comfortable and king-sized. 4. The wifi is excellent. We were probably lucky being close to the spa but we had around 150-200mb/s bandwidth so streaming on laptops, phones and iPads was smooth. 5. The set menu dinner is generally very good. There is always a choice of four starters and mains plus an amuse bouche and desserts. They follow the same pattern every day but do change in detail. The actual quality varied but overall was really good making dinner a highlight of the day. Maybe not really worth €38 but there is not much choice locally for eating out. Water at €4.30 a bottle is a bit steep and the price is not mentioned anywhere. The wine list is pretty good though and the local wines good value. 6. Breakfast is excellent. Good selection of decent hot & cold food presented in a buffet style. We didn’t eat at the hotel during the day but the bar menu looked good. 7. The pool areas are lovely. There are two outdoor pools with plenty of seating around and the spa pool is very picturesque. 8. Transport is easy with a good, reliable bus service (nearest stop just outside the hotel) and Bolt & Uber taxis available and good value. At peak times we found it could be difficult to get a taxi at the hotel but we asked at reception and they got a local guy out at short notice. Tatty car and quite expensive but if you have a ferry to catch, a life-saver. 9. Cats. If you like cats (we do) then this is great. There are maybe 12-15 about the place. They are very well behaved, stay outdoors and do not jump up onto the tables if you are eating outside. Now the moans: 1. The room was a bit dated and in need of some refurbishment. The TV is ancient & has a very limited choice of channels with no smart features. We couldn’t even use our amazon fire stick. 2. The service is mixed. The room safe and coffee machine in the bedroom didn’t work. I reported them on the first day and here I am on day six and they still don’t work! One day our room was not serviced even though we were out in Valetta until three pm and had a ‘Please clean our room’ sign on the door. 3. The restaurant service is again mixed. They clearly have several teams and the quality of food & service varies significantly depending upon who is on that day. 4. Don’t come if you dislike or have a phobia of cats. Period. 5. Gozo doesn’t really have too much to draw you a

The hotel holds a 5 star rating and to be fair it is very good in general but as other reviews have stated, the bathrooms are a little tired. The food is decent but overpriced in my opinion, breakfast is good, no complaints there. If you don’t like cats don’t go, there are more than a dozen cats milling about at all times, very petted but very hungry. We had a great room very close to the pool, housekeeping is very good too. Pools and all areas are lovely and clean and the spa pool is heated, bar is nice but drink is expensive. No snack menu though which is a shame because there is nowhere cheap nearby to get anything to eat, the closest shop is a 20 minute walk away. If you’re seeking a relaxing do nothing holiday then this fits the bill, there’s nothing to do there, it’s very quiet. Staff are very nice and helpful. The bus service on Gozo is fantastic however and you can catch the 305 into Victoria every hour, it’s very prompt. I’d suggest buying the pass which can be purchased at the station for €25 each, it gives unlimited travel for 7 days. The hotels “private beach” isn’t a beach, it’s a Rocky outcrop with lots of steps down to a rock shelf with a step ladder into the sea. We went there one day in our hire car but there was no one there, AT ALL! I did go in for a swim but the water was rough and about 15m deep, given that there was no one around to offer assistance IF anything were to happen I made my swim very short. To sum up the hotel, it is very nice and very clean, great staff and very relaxing. Would I go back? No, even at 57 years old I look for a bit more excitement than this place can offer. Gozo as a whole is lovely to see and easy to navigate but been there got the t-shirt but wouldn’t rush back, Malta looked too busy for me but Gozo was too quiet, something in the middle I prefer. Each to their own though, it just wasn’t for me. If you want to just chill, this is ideal.

My partner and I visited for a friends wedding. First thing I’ll say is that the hotel and Pilazza wedding venue are STUNNING and very unique. We truly had a wonderful time celebrating our friends wedding. The hotel is a quaint family run style hotel with a lovely quiet adults only pool. Pros: BEAUTIFUL Nice rooms, almost like you have your own lodge. All on one level - perfect for wheelchair users. Communal areas very clean and I loved that they had a adults only pool. Lovely breakfast. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Amazing wedding venue at the Pilazza which is opposite the main hotel. Had a truly relaxing stay, wish we could have had an extra day to get a spa treatment. Picturesk views of the Ta Cenc cliffs which are a 10 minute walk. Cons: The service lets this place down, waited almost and our for a cocktail by the pool. When attending for lunch, we were waiting 45 minutes to be served, then another long wait for food and the bill. Lunch was very average. They do have a lot of stray cats, not that this was a problem for me as I’m a cat lover. But they provided no information if they cared for them. Usually if there are a lot of strays, a hotel provides a communal dry feeding station. Overall very deserving of a 4 star, to get the extra star I’d say the service needs to be improved in regards to the restaurants and more checks on people around the pool. Better Standard of food and an update of the rooms.

We had a wonderful holiday at Ta Cenc. The whole experience left us feeling so chilled and relaxed. Ta Cenc is unique in that all rooms are on one level and spread throughout the beautiful grounds. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Our room was very good but disappointed that there was only a hand held shower attachment over the bath. If you are looking for a holiday with a lot of nightlife this is not the holiday for you but if you are looking for peace, quiet and tranquility then this is definitely the place to book. Although there is an hourly bus service it is advisable to have a car. We are looking to book again.

Really doubtful if this deserves a 5 *, more of a 4 * resort. Room was clean & spacious, tv was small for a 5*. Mattresses on the beds tended to tilt to one side. Breakfast buffet was good though again had better buffets in 4* hotels. Pools were clean and not noisy. There is nothing much to do except laze around the pool all day. Pitiful games room. Lots of hungry cats and seemingly abandoned areas. Cleaners take ages to do the rooms people were waiting ages at around 1pm to get back into their rooms working in a numbered basis not first doing guests rooms, then departures considering check in is at 3pm. For the price there are other better 5 * hotels in Malta & Gozo.

The Ta Cenc hotel is set in 400 acres of rugged nature reserve and cliffs with truly spectacular views. The facilities are excellent as is the food. Any requests or problems are dealt with swiftly. Would highly recommend.
