The Sanya EDITION

Service: First, I have to rave about The Edition's service! Every staff member at The Edition must genuinely love their job, they're so enthusiastic. The day before my arrival, I received a call from customer service, and then connected with Kitty from the concierge team via WeChat. She provided incredibly attentive care, arranged my room in advance, booked a Sunday morning yoga class for me, and reminded me to attend the Friday evening 'Nightfall Ritual' (which turned out to be a 'muscle-bound fire-breather' show – very impactful!). All my last-minute requests were promptly met, and she even followed up to ensure I made it home safely. The human touch was truly excellent, far surpassing staff at other hotels; she was efficient and outstanding – a definite thumbs-up for her! Although I didn't meet Kitty in person, she's certainly one of the reasons I'd want to stay at The Edition again. Environment: The hotel is genuinely beautiful. Both the starry pool and the beach club pool are incredibly picturesque, perfect for those Instagram-worthy shots. Although the hotel isn't massive, the greenery is lush, and shuttle drivers always politely ask if you need a ride. The beach is right behind the hotel, so it's very convenient if you fancy a stroll along the shore. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great; at night, the outdoor music feels quite loud, and on windy days, you can hear the wind. Restaurants: The hotel has two breakfast restaurants, Market Jin and Egret Tianlu. Both offer breakfast, and you can choose either one (apparently, many people don't know this). Market Jin is larger, so it's a bit of a walk to get food. They have delicious Hou'an noodles and sour and spicy seafood wontons, as well as a fresh juice bar where you can get freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices. Tianlu is more compact and refined; the staff aren't as busy, so the service tends to be more attentive. This restaurant also offers tasty sea urchin porridge, steak, pork trotters, and whole young coconuts. The dining atmosphere is more 'chill,' making it ideal for couples. Facilities: The artificial lake activities are great fun. Water bikes, paddleboards, and kayaks are all available. No advance booking needed; you can just go and play immediately if no one else is using them, and there's no time limit – plus, it's free. Gym: The equipment is comprehensive, and the space is large. There's an open-air outdoor section (reportedly, rainy day yoga classes are held here, while sunny day classes are by the seaside coconut grove). The indoor area has excellent natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, and there's even a ping-pong table. Location: It's really close to the duty-free shop; a taxi from the hotel entrance is just the starting fare. Kitty also told me that the hotel provides a shuttle bus to the duty-free shop at 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm daily from the lobby, making it fantastic for shopping.

Thanks to Trip.com's 'free stay in one city, one hotel' offer for Black Diamond members, I had my first visit to the Sanya EDITION Hotel. Since one of the seniors traveling with me was celebrating a birthday, I added Butler Ashley on WeChat two days before check-in. She specially arranged birthday decorations in the room for the senior, provided a complimentary birthday cake, and the room's location was excellent. The check-in process was handled with the combined assistance of front desk staff Alice and Butler Ashley. I must say, the Sanya EDITION truly lives up to its online reputation for excellent service. The entire check-in process was very thoughtful, with great care taken for the seniors, and they promptly arranged for a complimentary beach bag for us. The Russian handsome guy's performance at the night ceremony was truly impressive! We booked dinner at the hotel's Xian Hai restaurant and made a reservation to arrive by boat. The boat ride was short, mainly for the novel experience. The restaurant's dishes were relatively light, ingredients were very fresh, and they had prepared birthday decorations for the senior in advance, along with complimentary longevity noodles. The seniors were very satisfied with the meal. Coincidentally, there was a wedding at the beach club that evening, and we enjoyed a drone show from our room's balcony at night. The next day's breakfast buffet was just as described online, with a very rich selection of dishes. The highly-rated Zhaopocu Wontons and Almond Croissants certainly lived up to their reputation. Upon check-out, Butler Ashley learned that I liked the in-room toiletries and specially asked a colleague to retrieve small travel-sized packages from storage for me to take home and continue using. Overall, this experience was absolutely perfect, and I will definitely consider choosing The EDITION again on my next visit to Sanya.

The Edition Hotel truly lives up to its designer reputation. From the moment you enter, it feels like a hidden forest sanctuary, and the entire hotel has a wonderfully airy and spacious feel. Cozy nooks are tucked away in every corner of the hotel, and discovering each one is like finding a hidden gem (and the views are stunning!). The overall stay was excellent, especially the 1:1 butler service – they truly anticipated our every need. This stay was a bit unique; our butler, Cooper, had to coordinate with housekeeping multiple times a day to deliver items to our room. We also had a super early check-out, and Cooper, worried we'd be hungry, went out of his way to arrange for us to take some breakfast with us. Oh, and he even gave us a little farewell gift – all these thoughtful touches really enhanced our experience. The only slight inconvenience might be the parking. The parking lot is a bit of a walk from the main building, and guests have to park their own cars. We only found out when leaving that we could have requested a shuttle to the parking lot. Also, there are only a few fast-charging stations, so getting to use one requires some luck.

The environment is excellent, and I really loved the gym. The equipment is not only high-end but also comprehensive, and it's quiet with few people, making workouts very peaceful. Breakfast offers a wide variety and is delicious. The Western restaurant is also very good. Our butler, Allan, provided exceptional service. He decorated our room in advance for my birthday celebration and even sent a small cake. He responded to messages instantly and was always quick to help with any needs. Thanks to Allan, our trip was incredibly enjoyable.

Cooper was really great, always happy to help with anything, haha. The hotel hygiene was also good. There were plenty of recommended activities for kids, and the service was excellent. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience!

My first time at The Sanya EDITION was an amazing experience! The staff were all so warm and patient, and the ladies spoke so gently. All the facilities were excellent, and it was a really comfortable place to vacation solo. I'll definitely be back to The EDITION next time I'm in Sanya!
