The hotel’s location is excellent—just a short walk from the subway. However, neither the hotel’s website nor Trip.com clearly states which station is closest. For first-time visitors, take the subway to Wuding Road Station and use Exit 1, which is the nearest exit to the hotel.
There’s a FamilyMart across the street, but it doesn't stock many decent food or snack options. Instead, if you turn left after exiting the hotel and walk about 150 meters, you’ll find a local fruit and vegetable shop, along with a great noodle shop—perfect for a casual meal.
The hotel lobby gives off a relaxed café/bar vibe, serving drinks and snacks throughout the day.
The room design is modern and cozy. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. I also liked that the bathroom and toilet are separate, which adds convenience.
Minibar & Amenities
The minibar includes a well-functioning refrigerator, complimentary snacks and soft drinks, and even a Nespresso coffee machine, which was a nice touch.
There’s a self-service laundry room, which guests can use free of charge. Detergent is also provided. However, there are only three washing machines and three dryers, which is not sufficient for the number of guests. After a long travel day, many people head to the laundry room, so there’s often a queue. The dryers aren’t very hot, so drying takes longer—around 1 hour and 20 minutes per load—which creates further delays for others waiting.
Fitness Center
The fitness center includes two treadmills, one elliptical machine, a Smith machine, and a full rack of dumbbells. I can’t recall the brand, but the equipment was of good quality and well-maintained.
Breakfast
Given the Hyatt branding, I expected a better breakfast selection. Variety? It depends what you’re comparing it to. Compared to other Hyatt hotels in Thailand or other 4-star properties, this breakfast was underwhelming. In Thailand, I’ve experienced full breakfast lines with scrambled eggs, omelets, various egg styles, American breakfast items, Chinese and Japanese options, and high-quality bakery items. This hotel’s offering felt limited in comparison.
Staff
The housekeeping team was the highlight of my stay. In particular, the two ladies on the 5th and 6th floors provided excellent service. They kept the room spotless, were always smiling, and made me feel genuinely welcome.

Excellent hotel near the professional district of Jingan. The room is filled with nice touches, big comfortable bed, one of the biggest TVs I have ever seen, and the shower and toilet are completely separate. Very modern feeling, with a spacious lobby and some of the friendliest employees I have ever encountered in China. There are rentable bicycles just on the street.
This place has some with the loudest slamming doors I have ever heard. In the middle of night and early in the morning there are small explosions jolting you awake. The boss seriously needs to install some silencers or gel padding to fix this issue

The room was clean and there was no smell of cigarette smoke inside, although there was a noticeable smell of smoke in the hallway. I booked two rooms, but on the first night, we were given rooms on different floors. However, we were able to change and stay on the same floor for the second night.
The front desk staff did not speak English very well, so it was sometimes hard to communicate. On the positive side, the location is great—very close to Metro Line 1 and the Shanghai Railway Station. The breakfast menu was almost the same every day.

Pros: great location, very stylish designer rooms with beautiful reclaimed red wood furnishing. Friendly staff.
Cons: there was a loud sound of water running in the ceiling, we guessed it was water running in pipes, it was loud enough that we wanted ear plugs. We called reception at 5:30am to ask for plugs but nobody answered our call. When we politely complained in the morning we were told it was the air-con system. We found it hard to believe that anyone would rent a room with such a noisy air con system, let alone without ear plugs. Also, the water from the taps and shower never got hot, only warm.
The hotel is well-located, with many restaurants nearby and convenient access to the subway. It’s easy to go shopping or take a pleasant walk in the surrounding area. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the housekeeping staff were friendly and attentive.
What stood out the most, however, was the exceptional service provided by the breakfast team — especially Fred and Sita. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail truly made a lasting impression. It was, without a doubt, excellent service in every sense.

stayed in the hot tub suite and was not disappointed!! room was very large and the hot tub was a good size for two or maybe even three people, I had dinner at the restaurant and was expecting the food to be expensive but was surprised with how cheap and tasty it was!! breakfast was included with my stay and was a buffet, not the best I've ever had but definitely not much to complain about - for travellers on a subject this hotel will definitely surpass all your expectations!!

Amazing location. Absolutely perfect for a busy schedule in Shanghai. It’s literally across the street from the subway station with the subway that connects both airports and many other places in the city.
The surroundings are superb! Apple Store across the street, beautiful thai restaurant by the lake and el Bodegon (best Argentinean restaurant in town) 5 minutes walk!
The staff at the hotel can’t be nicer!! They are so helpful and attentive. If I didn’t get his name wrong; it was Mr. Marlon at reception that made a huge difference together with every single person who works at the hotel.
The view and light from the room were great! A bit old school and some stains on the carpet, but overall super nice stay
Perfect for touring Shanghai or commuting back and forth

I love their services. Staff are friendly (both front desk and housekeeping). The hotel is clean and nearby to eatery (Chinese noodle stall/McDonald's/Western restaurant etc), convenient store (24hrs Lawson) and Luckin Coffee. Even if we reach the hotel super late like midnight we can still get food either via Lawson or takeaway (not available to deliver to the room but there is a placement counter outside the hotel which I sometimes ordered via alipay app when on the road back to the hotel so I can collect when I reach the hotel). Very easily get Didi from the hotel as the hotel is near to Shanghai railway station (Didi driver told me this area has a lot of Didi available due to the railway station).
Superb hotel at a quiet yet accessible location. Staff were really friendly, room was very comfortable, usage of space was well thought out of and no smell of smoke at all. Breakfast spread was scrumptious, and they even had free yummy porridge with side dishes for all hotel guests in the evening, which was a very thoughtful gesture! We also really loved the free laundry service which was so convenient and easy to use. Hotel was smart throughout - TV had info about whether the laundry and dryer machines were occupied, and we could order delivery and the robot helper delivered it to our room. Shoutout to Changpu 菖蒲 aunty who packed breakfast for us 💕 I’ll definitely book my stay with this hotel again when I’m back in Shanghai! Only gripe was that during the weekend, the porridge dishes were very quickly finished by other guests and not promptly refilled, but since it’s free it wasn’t that big of a deal, just left us a tiny bit disappointed since it was so yummy! 🥹

GGuest UserThe hotel is newly opened, but the room doesn't have any renovated smell. The hotel staff are very enthusiastic and will greet you when they meet. The breakfast is also very rich. I originally booked for one day and needed to extend my stay. A staff member named Suizhou was very responsible in helping me place the order and allowed me to extend my stay in the original room. The cleaning lady was also very enthusiastic. It was a very good experience. Next time I come to Shanghai, this hotel will be my first choice.
AAllbuttMerry Hotel is a Shanghai icon. Pre-covid had the best spa floor in Shanghai. The staff are very helpful, albeit only a few speak english, nothing was a problem. VERY convenient next to Temple, China mobile to get local sim, walking distance Wukang Lu and down town for famous Jing an temple & trains. I LOVE this hotel!
JJExcellent hotel where I spent my night in Shanghai before taking the train to another city. The hotel is 5 minutes walking from Shanghai railway station and metro. The staff at the reception speech good English. And the breakfast was good and delicious. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I really recommend it, mostly if you need something calm and near to Shanghai railway station.

SShuishuiUA very perfect stay experience. The location is in the prime area of Jing'an Temple, with convenient transportation and quiet in the bustling city. The front desk reception is warm and thoughtful. The hotel decoration is stylish and elegant. The facilities in the room are particularly complete. It is clean and tidy. It is very suitable for long-term stays. When I checked out, I was given a souvenir from Jing'an Bakery. I will continue to choose Haige Apartment when I go to Shanghai again
MMark FlurryThis was a last minute switch and, WOW, what a great surprise. The room was large and very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large with a deep tub and separate shower. All the staff, from the front desk to the cleaning ladies, we very warm and helpful. The hotel is in a historic building just said from line 2 metro, the Nanjing Riad West station. Within a 600 meter walk is the Starbucks Roastary which is worth the visit. The Cheesecake Factory is on 3F of a mall next to Starbucks. Within a short walk are more restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops than you can count. (Including a DQ, a Chili's, and a Five Guys Burger.) The location of the hotel is superb! And for the location and size of the room the price is a good value.

GGuest User1. Fantastic Location - The hotel’s location is perfect for both convenience and exploration. The metro station is just across the street, making it super easy to get around the city. Plus, if you're taking a cab, you’re only a few minutes away from all the popular landmarks and attractions in Shanghai. It's an ideal spot for both sightseeing and business trips.
2. Friendly and Super Helpful Staff - The staff here truly made my stay memorable. From the moment I arrived, they were all wearing smiles and greeting me like a friend. Every time I returned to the hotel, they were there to make me feel welcome. Whether I needed directions, restaurant recommendations, or help with anything else, they were always ready to assist with warmth and efficiency.
3. Nearby Amenities - There’s a lovely river just behind the hotel, perfect for a relaxing walk or jog. It’s a great place to unwind, especially in the evenings. Additionally, there’s a kids’ playground nearby, which is perfect for families traveling with young ones. It’s a nice spot to let the kids run around before heading back to the hotel.
4. Spacious Rooms - I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the hotel room. It was huge, providing plenty of space to move around and relax after a day of exploring. The room was also well-equipped, comfortable, and clean, which made for a very enjoyable stay.
Overall:
This hotel was a fantastic choice for my stay in Shanghai. The location is super convenient, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the nearby amenities make it even better. The large rooms are definitely a big bonus too. I’ll absolutely be coming back the next time I’m in Shanghai! Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and easy access to the city’s attractions.
DDallasYeoVery pleased with our stay. A room with two twin beds and another bedroom double bed huge space for family of 4 to move around. The pricing is very good. Short walk from MRT station. Friendly and helpful staff. Initially skeptical about booking coz it is a very old hotel but they have refurbished. From beddings to towels n tv n amenities, all very good. No regrets !
