2-Star Hotels in Daocheng County

This was the most affordable option in Yading Village yet we were very impressed with our room. We had an amazing view of the mountains. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The host is very hard working and accomodating. For 50 yuan you can have dinner and breakfast. The dinner is amazing with a variety of tasty dishes, worth 50 yuan alone. The breakfast is very basic but seems like that is standard for this area. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Yading.

For the price, the hotel is really value for money. The service is excellent and the hotel staff will promptly attend to your request. The lady boss even took the trouble to notify us when she noticed that our car lights were left on when parked. The bath is also good with rain shower and strong water pressure. There is also free laundry service and the staff provided extra hangers for drying the washed clothes. The bed heater is warm enough for a good night's sleep in cold weather. Breakfast provided is decent and hot. You can also buy oxygen at a super cheap price from the front desk. Besides the room decor being a bit dated and some maintenance are needed, this hotel provides everything you need at a really affordable price.

The location of the HomeStay is excellent. It is located at the end of the street of a quieter corner away from the busy street. Just a short walk you will have access to many eateries and shops. The interior decoration is uniquely furnished with ******* style design transporting us into a real local ******* family home without the need to be physically in Tibet. The Owner of the HomeStay is very friendly and helpful. He introduced us to ******* culture and explained the significance of Animals painting on the wall and how it translates into daily life. Animals consisted of Elephant, Monkey, Rabbit and Bird. He also made us their fragrance 酥油茶 suyou cha which is good to counter Altitude sickness 高反。 Cat is also a sacred animal in ******* culture. The price of the HomeStay is very reasonable with the excellent location and service. It has free laundry service, however you need to hang them dry in an outdoor clothes line. It will dry quickly as the weather is very dry/sunny. I would highly recommend this HomeStay to everyone who likes to go to Daocheng Yading. The environment is okay, you can see Xiannairi across the window, but the water was cut off that night, and the hot water was not very hot. There is an electric heater, but the price is a bit expensive.

This is an exceptionally good hotel! So good that even a lazy person like me who rarely writes reviews has to give it a thumbs up. I've stayed in countless hotels all over the country, and this is truly the most comfortable and cost-effective one I've ever stayed in. The location isn't particularly hard to find, and the decor is excellent—very new and clean. The rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable, and the blankets are soft. It's quiet in a residential area, with minimal noise at night. If the entire building were converted into a hotel, it wouldn't be inferior to many five-star hotels. There's a convenience store downstairs, making shopping very convenient. The hotel owner's service attitude is also excellent (part of this review is because of his good attitude; otherwise, I'm too lazy to bother with follow-up reviews). Finally, here are a few photos taken in Yading. In short, it's an exceptionally good hotel, and a very enjoyable trip.

When visiting Daocheng Yading, this place is conveniently located near Yading Square. They offer ******* traditional clothing photography. There are also many pets in the hotel; the cats and dogs on the first floor are adorable. The beds and rooms are clean and tidy, and even foreigners stay here, which is really nice. It's also super quick to get to the long hiking trails in Yading from here. The proprietress is very welcoming.

The sign board is in Chinese only. So, it is quite difficult for foreigner like me to get to the right building. Even my local taxi driver can not. Fortunately, the owner lady and friends are sittings at the roadside waiting for customers or passerby who looks for an accommodation. The owner lady is very generous and servicible. She helps me carrying my big luggage from street to the homestay. She also show me how to use facilities in the room. She speaks only chinese but I can not. So, she suggest me to contact her via Wechat which I can use translation feature. In the morning before I am going to visit Yading Scenic Spot, she offers me an treking pole too. Nevertheless, Due to the early departure time of bus to Xianggelila, I figure out whether I move to stay in town for another day after finishing 3-day booking here. She asks me if I have nothing to do in town and decide to continue staying. She can provide a free pick-up to the bus station by her family car at 5.30 a.m. That is great. The room is small and simple but tidy. Bed is firm and comfortable. It comes with electronic blanket which helps alot because it is freezing at night. Bathroom and toilet are clean. Hot water is provided all day in night. Shower pressure is strong and easy to adjust the temperature. However, bathroom and toilet are humid and difficult to dry because of the cold weather. Wifi is strong.

I love the location and cleaning of the place. This is my 1st time in Shangrila town. The Owner is very friendly and helpful. He guided me and walk with me to buy a bus ticket even he is cannot speak English but Google translate and wechat can help us a lot. So I ended up book 1 more night in Riwa Location : Great, 5 mins walk from Riwa Bus station (hotel is next to the bus station but it’s in the backside) Room : Big and Clean Water pressure : High but slightly take time to hot (it’s so cold in April) Hotel has Elevator ! You can find a taxi around a town Plenty of food and supermarket near by I recommend this hotel

I was there twice, before and after visiting yading reserve. The first time was nice, the room and shower weren't the best but ok, and the lady at the reception was super helpful with all my questions. On the second time, there was a problem with the water which I only found out after I entered the shower. A small sign could have helped. Eventually I got the water for the shower but later I wanted to go for the toilet and couldn't flush since there were no water, and there was nobody at the reception to ask for help. They changed my bed and the wall near the new bed was filty, and somewhen after midnight they entered the room while I was asleep, turned the light on and started changing the covers for a new girl in the room. I'm sorry but that should have happened during daylight, not at this time, or they should have just given her one of the other vacant beds in the room.

Who knows! Choosing the right hotel in Daocheng Yading can truly save your entire trip! I highly recommend this hotel. It's right next to the visitor center at the entrance of the scenic area, just a few minutes' walk away, so you don't have to worry about transportation or parking at all. Those driving can park with peace of mind – it's so tourist-friendly! The most touching thing is the thoughtful oxygen supply service. The room is equipped with an oxygen concentrator, which you can turn on anytime at night. Those prone to altitude sickness no longer have to struggle to breathe in the middle of the night. They also provide free trekking poles, which saves a lot of energy when hiking in the scenic area. The attention to detail is truly impressive. The room is clean, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the 24-hour hot water is readily available. The toiletries and facilities are also very reassuring. The decor is simple yet sophisticated, with bright and airy lighting, making for a very comfortable stay. The service is impeccable. The receptionist is incredibly welcoming and explains the travel routes and altitude sickness precautions in detail upon check-in, and even recommends lesser-known spots for photos. Our travel companion experienced mild altitude sickness, and the owner proactively provided a nasal cannula and thoughtfully brewed ginger tea. Their attentive care throughout was truly like that of family. Breakfast was simple yet plentiful, featuring local specialties like porridge, butter tea, barley cakes, and side dishes. A full stomach is essential for exploring the scenic area. Overall, the value for money was amazing. The location, facilities, and service were all excellent. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yading! I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone visiting Daocheng—you can't go wrong!
