The community house is very quiet, with complete facilities and powerful air conditioning. It is more comfortable than a hotel. It has a living room and kitchen.

The room is clean and tidy. The boss is warm and considerate.

The room booked by Nanjing for tourism is close to Qixia Mountain and the traffic is very convenient. The front desk lady is very good and check-in is very fast. The room was clean and the sheets and quilts were very new. The cleaning aunt was very timely and had a good attitude. The price is very high and it is recommended.

Comparing the price and environment, you get what you pay for! The whole house is newly renovated, which should be the best in the town. It should be relatively good compared with other places in this town!

GreenTree Inn, Jurong (Jiangsu Province) is an oldie but a goody! I stayed there for 5 nights in late August/early September (2025). At first glance I was a bit dubious, but it turned out to be a really great place to stay. I felt very safe there and in the neighbourhood (day and night) and would stay there again. Excellent customer service ..… the Reception and cleaning staff were all really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The first room I was allocated smelt of cigarette smoke (no thank you!), but I was immediately moved into a nicer smelling room, which was absolutely spotless, quite large, and had a nice new smart tv, air con, an opening window with a flyscreen and security bars (essential for a ground floor room), nice solid furniture, pure white linen (impressively imprinted with “GreenTree Inn”) and a clean, comfy doona and pillows. A standard hard’ish Chinese bed, but I find them quite comfy. The old carpet runner along the length of the long ground floor hallway (where my room was) is a relic from way back when, but it was clean and well maintained, as was the rest of the hotel that I could see. The shower head needed fixing, but that’s an annoyingly common problem in pretty much every budget ＞ mid range hotel I’ve ever stayed in, in China. The hotel is only about 20 metres from Jurong Chongming Subway Station. Local bus stop almost at the front door (& across the road). The entrance to the old cobbled road (no cars allowed) & all its little shops is across the road at the lights, and a large pharmacy at the entrance (near the “archway”). Electric scooters galore to hire (via the AliPay or WeChat apps) outside the subway. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance once you get past the trades shops (plumbing supplies etc). My only gripe about GreenTree Inn Jurong (& this is a gripe I have for many hotels etc throughout China) is that smoking is allowed on the premises. I think it’s the worst it’s been since 2002 when I first started travelling to China. It’s awful walking into foyers and lifts that reek of cigarette smoke, and copping wafts of the smoke along hallways from smokers in their rooms (& ashtrays at lift entrances), and horrible arriving tired after a long flight and long trek from airports etc, only to discover you then have to request a room change to escape the smoke, and start all over again. No matter how accommodating the staff are, I could easily do without that hassle and the horrible smell. In my opinion, hotels etc in China need to up their game where that’s concerned, and follow the lead of the many countries which have banned cigarette smoking in all public buildings (including hotels), all public indoor and outdoor spaces, anywhere near children and shopping centres, on and near public transport etc etc etc.

Gentle Gifts on the corner When the frosted glass door was opened, the wind bells sounded like broken jade. The sun at three o'clock in the afternoon slanted across the bar, cast a wedge-shaped spot on the dark brown wood-grained tabletop, and the air floated the smell of freshly ground coffee and freshly baked butter. The café, hidden around the corner of the old lane, was like a lazy snoring cat, wrapped in just the right temperature for everyone who pushed the door. The menu is made of recycled paper, with natural edges, and the price is like a whispered American coffee 18 yuan, tiramisu 22 yuan, and even a yogurt bowl filled with fresh berries is only 28 yuan. The student party at the next table was sharing a pasta, the girl smiled and handed the bacon roll to her companion, and the silver fork crashed into a crisp sound. The retro clock on the wall ticked, the wooden bookshelf was randomly placed on Camus's ”Outsider” and several yellowed photography sets, the green plants in the corner hung a few green dills, and the leaves were still condensed in the morning. The best thing is the window seat, the vine-woven chair is covered with soft knit cushions, and you can see the old branches outside the window swaying in the wind, and occasionally there are elderly people riding bicycles slowly passing by, and the bells startle a few sparrows parked on the grid. The barista behind the bar, wearing a white apron, was focusing on a cute bear pattern with milk bubbles, and the milk tank was tilted at a gentle angle like a fragile treasure. Here, time seems to be slowed down. The office worker in the gray suit takes off his tie and smiles as he taps on his laptop; The girl with the ponytail spread out the sketchbook, and the pencil rustled on the paper, painting the pomegranate tree that stretched out the courtyard wall outside the window. No one urged, no need to hurry, even the dust in the air was dancing slowly in the column of light. At the checkout, I found free mint on the counter, a few dried flowers in the glass jar, and the proprietress behind the cashier smiled and handed over a paper towel with a cat pattern: ”Come back next time, the Basque cake on Wednesday will be 20% off.” When the door was opened, the wind bell rang again. It’s like saying, “Go slowly, we’ll wait for you to come back with the story.” The original real beauty never required expensive labels, like this cafe, with reasonable prices, comfortable surroundings and just-right tenderness, brewed ordinary days into poems worth reminiscing. It is not a deliberately created net red punch card, but a tree hole that can let people unload tiredness, a corner that can be wasted time with peace of mind, a small luck hidden in the folds of the city.

Facilities: The hotel has all the facilities and the lobby is spacious and bright. Hygienic: clean and tidy, very satisfied. Environment: The surrounding environment is convenient for transportation, not far from the high-speed rail station. Service: The front desk staff is hospitable and the check-in efficiency is high.

The location is excellent, very close to the train station. The room was clean and comfortable, with new sheets and quilt covers. The wifi was also very good, and the movies were not laggy. The air conditioning and heating were also good, not cold at all. The bathroom facilities were also complete, and the shampoo was very fragrant. The front desk staff was also very friendly, greeting us every time we entered the room. There is free parking, and it felt like a star hotel. I will choose this hotel again next time!
