Located on Elephant Island, it's very inconvenient to get to; you have to pay extra each time you go to the island, though not much. The owner and staff are very polite, and the facilities are very new—arguably the best I've encountered in Egypt. However, the location is absolutely terrible. If you prioritize facilities and cleanliness, this is an option, but I wouldn't recommend it if you want to avoid hassle.

The view from the room overlooking the Nile is phenomenal and it's absolutely worth staying in Nubian Village instead of Aswan. We were warmly welcomed by the owner's mother. The room was clean and nice, only the bathroom was very small with the shower head almost directly over the toilet, otherwise everything was great. Breakfast was good and the staff were always helpful. We can highly recommend the free tour from Nubian Village, it was very interesting. WhatsApp replies could be a bit quicker, otherwise a great place to stay and fantastic hosts.

Aswan said that this place is worn, except for the old waterfall, no one can live in a hotel. Instead of spending more than a thousand unpleasant, it is better to come to this homestay. If it is not for the local driver, it is difficult to find. The location is relatively biased. Although Egyptian security is OK, women are not recommended to go alone at night.

I heard that the more prosperous part of Aswan is the east bank of the Nile, but this is a small hotel in a Nubian village on the west bank of the Nile. If you have a chartered car, you can stay in the village to experience the Nubian culture (there is a section of road under construction into the village, it is not easy to walk and it is very dark at night). You can see the sunrise over the Nile when you go out in the morning. It is very quiet and the small village is also very beautiful. The service is particularly good. The breakfast (some bread, yogurt and boxed juice) will be packed for the morning meeting. There is an independent bathroom, but the light is dim, so I lowered my expectations. It is normal and good conditions in Egypt. At least it is clean, the bath water is hot, and it is not a problem to sleep in clothes for a night.

This small hotel is located in a small village. We went there in February. It was dry and cold. The air conditioner can only cool. The wind from the door is very strong. The panoramic room has a balcony on one side, which is even colder. Sara at the front desk is more professional. You can ask her if you need anything, but she starts work at 10 am. The one in charge of the bar is very unreliable. The kettle for hot water we were served was not washed. The kettle that had milk in it made the water all mushy. The food hygiene is completely unreliable. He also forced us to sell two bottles of water. We didn't order them, but he gave them to us directly, so we thought they were for breakfast. Finally, he showed us the price list and asked us for money. I said you didn't tell us, and he said you didn't ask. The first stop in Aswan has a very bad impression!

The facilities are old, but I decided to stay there because I had to get up at 4am to take part in the Abu Simbel Temple tour. The doorman called a taxi for me to get to the airport for a surprisingly cheap price, so that was a relief.
