The hotel is just on the outskirts of Ipswich. The staff are very welcoming, and extremely helpful.
The rooms are of a good size and very clean. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room every morning after we had gone out, which was excellent.
The restaurant food is of a very high standard and there is a good choice including vegetarian options.
In the bar area where it is of a relaxed nature, you can order food from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Either way, nothing is ever too much trouble.
The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a must. My husband used the gym which was of an average size and then would come down to the pool area for a jacuzzi.
Although they have the spa treatment available, I can't really comment as I didn't use the facility.
If you want a relaxing time or want to visit the seaside, Felixstowe is only a 30minute drive away. There are also many National Trust houses to visit.
This the second time we have been to the Belstead Hotel and I can honestly say we will be visiting it again.

In the middle of a heatwave we had an extremely cool room which needed no fans.
We are more than happy to have another break there

AAndrewEasy and quick check in, even though I arrived at midnight. Clean room with comfortable bed. Very quiet. Tea and coffee making facilities were good. Great location for the railway station, Portman Road stadium, the town centre. Sainsbury’s within walking distance is also helpful. Didn’t have time to use the bar but it looked lively and popular.

Ssingle travel girlThe single room was average, window single glazed and massive, no view apart from metal pipes whic
h were noisy at times, I have a disability and get cold easily but I was so cold I asked reception to put the heating on to the max but this was unsuccessful, they gave me a second quilt but I was freezing cold all night.
TV initially didn't work but was resolved after asking at reception who were very nice.
If you like privacy for toilets/ showers this is not for you as there was just all clear glass doors.
The shower didn't work.

GGuest UserThe room is generally like a domestic express hotel, the interior is still clean, but the breakfast is too bad, there is nothing delicious, opposite the pier, no people, here is a country, empty.
