Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Fort Worth, TX

Fort Worth|2.3km from Fort Worth Herd
September 2022, I checked into the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson in Fort Worth, Texas along with my daughter and 10-year-old granddaughter. On the second night while at the pool there was some activity on the second floor in the window directly above us. A middle aged man approached the window, turned around dropped his shorts and bared himself to us all. The pool is very close to the hotel. My ten-year-old granddaughter saw all of him. ALL of him. To say the least we were all upset. We immediately left the pool, and I went to the front desk to report the incident. Much to my surprise there was not a manager available and would not be available until the next morning. It was not option to even call management, I asked. An employee did have me go outside with him to point out the window. The people in the room heard us at the pool level and quickly closed the drapes. The window was still open. The employees told me the only thing they could do was tell me to call the police. I don’t understand why they could not and would not at the very least inform the people in this room there was a child in the pool. To make things worse that room was on the same hall as ours. Maybe 4 to 6 doors down. The next morning when I went down to speak to the manager, I was informed that there was no manager on the weekends. I was again told my only option was to call the police. When I asked if they could tell me if that room had checked out, they were not allowed to tell me that either. So based on that information we did not use any of the public areas of the hotel the rest of our stay, including the pool or have breakfasts. The hotel no longer felt safe not knowing if we would see this man in the halls, lobby, pool or breakfast areas. On our third and final night of our stay the fire alarms went off in the middle of the evening. When I went down to the front desk to see what was going on, I was informed along with another customer, that an EX-employee set off the fire alarm just to cause trouble. How was an ex-employee able to set off a fire alarm? What else does this ex-employee has access too? What else would he do the cause problems? Between the pervert and disgruntled ex-employee, I did not sleep very well. This location has several major safety concerns. I felt far from safe on so many levels. Not one time was I asked if there was anything I needed. I was told the manager would be informed of my concerns, but I was not asked what my name was or what room I was in. No one really cared. I booked this hotel based on the Raddison name, but we could not get out of this hotel fast enough. So disappointed.

The employees were very courteous and friendly. I was dismayed when I had to valet my car at a rate of $30/night, which I was not informed of prior to arrival. I felt I should mention so that others will know what to expect. The location is right at the convention center, which is approximately 3 miles via car ride from the Stockyards. The room was clean, as was the hotel. I felt completely safe staying there and was satisfied with my stay overall.

Fabulous stay! Friendly staff, would definitely stay here again. Me and my family enjoyed our one night stay. Great location. The check in and out was quick and helpful. Great value for the price. We discovered early on in our stay, that the location of this hotel, was conveniently located to the freeway and only 15 minutes away from where our relatives reside. It was also only about 30 minutes from the airport; making it a straight shot to return our rental car before leaving the area.

This trip was such a bummer. We tried to laugh thru it all so we could still have a good time. I began taking photos as a joke, but now I’m glad I did to share them here. I gave the hotel 3 chances to correct my bill but I have not had any calls back from the manager (as promised by front desk) for the overcharge on my account. I have been checked out now for 8 days. The hotel was quite dirty. Every glass door and elevator doors had finger prints all over them. The floors in the lobby and elevator were filthy and sticky. Our room windows were absolutely gross inside and out. The hostess was extremely rude and unhelpful during our initial phone call to the restaurant( pre visit) and during our visit. We decided things were not going well and we should dine somewhere else. The bartender was pretty great though! We arrived to find a dead pigeon by the door lasting two days and dirty dishes in the wall sink in the hallway to our room. Not to mention dying plants in the planters outside, while the rest of the town was immaculate and beautiful. Arriving to our room late the next night, we found our room had never been serviced. We had told housekeeping we were leaving soon after we had been woken by them the first morning. At that point in the evening we just wanted to go to bed and not bother with calling down for towels or coffee. Dissecting each issue as a singular event it doesn’t seem like a big deal. Add it all up and I found the hotel absolutely gross. I stoped at the front desk twice but was told the manager would call me. I still need resolution to my bill but today I was sent a survey to see how my stay was! My boyfriend owns a restaurant and this was his first real vacation in at least 8 years. I was the one who wanted to stay there. I have always loved the Marriott and this location had a rooftop bar for the fireworks. All in all it’s possible it’s a staffing issue and I completely understand. However with this COVID climate and the manager never responding, I would guess it’s a bigger problem.
