HOTEL LiVEMAX Tokyo Kanda-Ekimae Reviews

After an exceptional stay at my first hotel in Japan, which was super comfortable and had a lovely, fresh scent, my expectations for this second hotel were quite high. Upon arrival, I had no complaints about the reception staff. They were friendly and fluent in English, which was a definite plus. My first night was also fine. However, I encountered some issues with room cleaning. On my second day, I left my room before 9 am with the "make up my room" sign displayed. When I returned around noon, my room had not yet been cleaned. It seems they may have been short-staffed, perhaps with only one cleaner. On my third day, I again requested room cleaning. While the room was cleaned, my clothes from the previous evening were still there, near the door, even though fresh ones were provided. I believe the staff simply overlooked them. Additionally, the room had a distinct odor that unfortunately clung to my clothes. Over time, this scent became quite irritating to my nose. The smell was so pervasive that even after returning home, my luggage and other belongings retained the odor. I even had to wash unused clothes to remove it. Overall, I can recommend this hotel, but with reservations. If you are particularly picky about cleanliness and have high standards, this might not be the best choice for you.

Tiny cozy and clean room, good location, easy checkin. I can recommend it for a short stay in Tokyo.

Average service and very small room. Location is in walking distance from subway which is appropriate with the hotel price. One major negative side is the facility. The hotel have very limited space for luggage deposit for pre-check in and the DO NOT have luggage deposit service AFTER checkout which is very inconvenient for backpacker. NOT RECOMMEND this hotel because there is much more hotel options in this area with comparable price and better facility.

The single room is more spacious than I expected! Easy to open the luggages and the bed is comfy too!

Staff is very helpful. But this hotel overall is extremely budget hotel and that's it. Some people might find it adequate, I didn't. Mostly because how uncomfortable the mattress was. It was really soft and sagging and yet hard. I couldn't sleep well at all on any of the nights. Location is OK with 4-5 mins walk from kanda station.

The hotel is in a good location, very close to the train station and Akihabara. There are many interesting restaurants nearby as well as convenience stores. The room was a bit stuffy because the windows could not be opened. But the air conditioning system was great. The bed was very comfortable.

This is already my second time to stay at this hotel. The staff are English speakers which is great for foreign travellers. They are very polite and helpful as well. The rooms are fairly large and inexpensive for Tokyo’s standards.

I stayed in about 8 hotels during my trip to Japan and this one was the worst. The room is tiny. Putting your suitcase on the floor - there's nowhere else to put it - either blocks the main door or the bathroom door. The wi-fi was very unreliable. Breakfast was deplorable, just a small bento and a bottle of drink that you collect from reception!!! There is a laundry but it's only 1 washing machine with a dryer, which in my experience was very inefficient. 90 mins later the small pile of clothes was still not dry. I couldn't open the window at all, not an inch. The location, however, is quite good. Kanda in on the Yamanote line, and others, and the area is relatively quiet but there are still lots of eating places around.

There were many aminities and the location is absolutely fabulous. Right in the middle of Tokyo, between Akihabara station and Tokyo station (at Kanda). Awesome!

Clean with large beds. Foreign reception, a bit hard to communicate in English or Japanese. Looks near but rough road for large luggage to the hotel due to construction, uneven roads.
