Quirkily decorated hostel, just tucked away the main street. Friendly service, nice cafe/social area, and convenient location. Breakfast is cook yourself, with eggs, bread provided etc. However it's a free for all, so be there early. The bed is reasonably comfortable, large locker provided (no key) and 1 small pillow. Shower is ok. Towel needs to be rented. The bathroom absolutely stinks of sewage. It's vile. And you won't sleep much here, people kept coming and going at all hours, turning on lights, banging doors. I wouldn't stay here again, that's because of sleep quality not service.

Cute place, the decor is amazing. There’s a coffee shop at the lobby and they have literally everything you need for your daily breakfast in the shared kitchen. It’s just nearby the night market, you may just walk around the area to explore more. The staffs really go beyond and above for their guests. Even though few of them aren’t that fluent in English, they still tried their best to help me out when I had a communication issue with driver. Would definitely recommend it!

I arrived at Barn1920's this afternoon, and the staff told me that they had a bed for me in a mixed dorm and NOT in the 4-bed female room as I had booked, claiming that other people had already checked in before me (? !??!), to which I replied no - my reservation was for another room and it is their responsibility to manage reservations properly. After some reluctance, they said that after all I did have a bed in a women's room, but it had to be the top bed - which is irrelevant to me, there was no specificity in the bed when I chose it. There they checked me in - a little reluctantly - even suggesting that I not check in and go to another hostel instead as "there are many in the city". I thought it was strange, and it sounds like a scam to me. When they took me to the room, it only had one bed occupied and three free, so I asked why they didn't let me check in initially?! The guy (who, when I asked him his name, just said he was "Bie") got very upset, and threatened me with calling management, for which I thanked him. He called management but wouldn't let me speak to her, said she was very busy and couldn't speak to me. I insisted again, and at one point, in a threatening tone, he said that he was afraid of me. I ended up speaking to the management, WHO ASKED ME TO CANCEL THE RESERVATION (!!!) and they would give me a refund, but I think this situation should be reported to the platform where I made the reservation and stay here as a warning sign to future travelers to this accommodation because something is not right with them!
