Salana is a really beautiful French style hotel in a good area to stay in Vientiane. The cocktail bar is very elegant and civilised and the staff are a delight. I’ve never seen a bed so huge as our bed and we had a jacuzzi bath too. The room was really big, spotlessly clean and super comfortable. Airport transfer was very reasonable and well organised too. I can’t fault the place - it was a delight. We had plenty of massages down the street and we went to a really interesting visitor centre called COPE about how the landlines have affected the people of Loas and what we can do to help, it was really human, soul searching and gut wrenching. The tuk tuk can take you there from the street.

The room is very clean and felt relaxed. The location of the hotel is excellent and close to night market, Mekong reiver side and lots of restaurants nearby. We enjoyed the breakfast very much as there are varieties of food with Lao and western choices. It would be a perfect stay to match our first booking in the app for one king size bed instead of two double beds for actual stay. Overall we were very much satisfied with our stay in the hotel.

Wonderful relatively new hotel and great value for the money. Service especially for breakfast is exceptional. Great rooftop bar/restaurant! Very clean, well maintained and great location near night market, outdoor food markets and central old town Vientiane. My only negative would be the thickness of the pillows (to thick for my sore neck) but a thinner pillow is just my preference.

Having recently spent five delightful days and four nights in Vientiane for a business trip with a touch of leisure, I found myself charmed by the Riverside Hotel. Its strategic location in the heart of the city made it the perfect base for exploring Vientiane's vibrant energy. A mere two-minute walk from the famous Vientiane night market, the hotel offered easy access to the city's bustling core. For those seeking iconic landmarks, the Hard Rock Cafe Vientiane was just a five-minute stroll away. This convenient location proved invaluable throughout my stay. The staff at the Riverside Hotel truly deserve a special mention. Their genuine friendliness and helpfulness were a constant source of warmth during my visit. The family-run atmosphere added a personal touch, making me feel welcome and cared for. I was particularly impressed when they accommodated my early check-in at 8.30am (arriving from Bangkok) without hesitation – a huge relief after a long travel day. Thank you again, Riverside Hotel! My room on the 6th floor offered a delightful surprise – a balcony with a view of the city. The room itself was clean, neat, and thoughtfully simple, perfectly suited to my needs. A personal highlight was the separate shower area in the bathroom – a detail that promotes hygiene and creates a more comfortable experience. While the breakfast selection wasn't vast, it was well-maintained and offered a decent variety. The fresh fruits were a particular delight, and I would love to see more vegetarian options added in the future – a minor suggestion for improvement. Housekeeping did a fantastic job, changing towels daily and keeping the room clean and tidy throughout my stay.

It can be said to be very good, very close to Vientiane Night Market, the breakfast is very good, the food is good, warm and romantic

The location is excellent close to many eating places and the night market and riverfront. It’s on a fairly quiet street and the hotel is very peaceful and quiet. The rooms are large at 45sqm and the staff are very accommodating with timely house keeping services. While the breakfast selection is not large there is a mix of western and Asian selections and sufficient for all palates. The hotel feels like someone’s French villa as it has a very cosy atmosphere which gives it its charm and makes it distinctive from all the modern day hotels. While the fixtures may seem a bit dated it is very clean and it provides all the amenities you need and I love the fact that it has a balcony attached to each room so you can sit outside and relax.

The hotel was convenient and easy to find from the airport. The breakfast hours were awesome and the food was tasty! The view from the pool and my balcony were enticing and relaxing. The front desk staff helped to call me taxis to get around the city. The room was spacious and clean. The tv even had English movie channels and a station dedicated to football! I would certainly stay if I came back to Vientiane.

It’s my second time to book this hotel. Will definitely come again. The room is clean and cozy, the location is great!! It’s right next to the night market, plenty of cafes,bars,convenience stores. Excellent experience!!

Love that this hotel is affordable but also quite near to other places like cafes, eateries & night market. Place is clean, comfortable to stay probably the air cond can be improve a little bit a sit takes a while to get cold. Also please not that there are no lift in this hotel, as it is an old layout building? But you can ask for the staff for help for luggage and stuff. Overall it is a good stay. Staff also very friendly. Basic breakfast but doable.

Basic simple hotel with modern bathroom. Great, but noisy location opposite the night Market. Great price-value option, keeping your expectation realistic. The only negative we have is that the room was waaaay too hot and the air-conditioning was not very strong, so it couldn't cool it down quickly, making it bit uncomfortable to sleep.
