Whales Way Ocean Retreat
"We had a beautiful room with a fantastic sea view. Very friendly service and great breakfast. We would gladly come again."
Views Boutique Hotel & Spa
"This stay exceeded expectations from start to finish. The reception and overall service were genuinely world-class — warm, attentive, and effortless without feeling overly formal. What stood out immediately was the balance this property achieves between sophistication and comfort. The restaurant menu is refined enough for travelers who appreciate quality food and thoughtful presentation, yet still approachable for a relaxed and enjoyable dinner experience. The panoramic views from the restaurant are simply breathtaking and elevate the entire dining atmosphere. As travelers who value art, design, comfort, and authentic local character over generic luxury, we were pleasantly surprised by the curated art displays throughout the property and especially enjoyed learning about their connection with the Wilderness Art Association. The rooms are beautifully designed with a layout that feels both stylish and practical, complemented by high-end appliances and thoughtful finishing touches that make the stay feel effortless. The spa was an unexpected added bonus and completed the experience perfectly. Highly recommended for travelers who appreciate understated luxury, good food, art, scenic beauty, and a calm, polished atmosphere rather than overcrowded commercial resorts."
Hildesheim Guest Lodge
"This place was breathtaking. Steve and Charmaine were amazing hosts and made us feel welcome immediately. My husband and I enjoyed the lovely spa bath in our room and we could take a few step and we were in that amazing pool. Every morning the breakfast were devine, so we could start the day. I will definitely recommend this to family and friends. We are planning our next visit soon!"
Serenity Ocean Lodge
"A very nice stay, easy parking, and all around good location."
Beach Villa Wilderness
"The place, location, and cleanliness were absolutely wonderful, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, we stayed in Suite No. 4 and noticed that the sea-view balcony lacks privacy, which may not be suitable for Muslim families or those seeking a private space. Additionally, the kitchenette area does not have a sink for washing dishes, which was quite inconvenient. Overall a good stay, but these points need to be considered"
The Tops
"Beautiful little establishment in a very central location. Sam, Lorraine & Tom are the best, most gracious hosts. Wonderful views, due to it's being high up on the hill yet still walking distance to the village, restaurants, etc. Also because it's high up, there are many, many stairs (like three to four long flights) so do be mindful of this. I highly recommend TheTops."
Cloverleigh Guest House
"Super comfy bed and cozy with the electric blanket. Highly recommend"
Inn2Wilderness Guesthouse
Dune Villa Wilderness
"Wonderful place to recharge. Stunning views of the beach and spacious accomodation. Breakfast was a treat. The host James, and staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recomended."

Treedom Villas and Vardos
"We had the most amazing and warm experience on our Trip to the Garden Route! The owners compliment the outstanding farm and design. We stayed in a movie style Gypsy Caravan, had a braai (wood was on the owners!) and received a warm welcome and good bye. What else can you ask for when staying away on a secluded farm, far away from all the modern stress - simply unwind 🥰"
Dolphin Dunes Guesthouse
"It is a guest house - nice, well taken care of and recommendable but not a luxurious 4* place. Its great plus is the direct location at the sea overlooking Wilderness Beach which can be reached in a few minutes via a descending wooden boardwalk. Our room (no. 3) was a double with ocean view, two decks, a high ceiling with a chandelier, a wardrobe, a TV, a small sitting area and a bathroom. Regrettably the latter only had a somewhat wobbly bathtub and no separate shower. Breakfast came as a mini buffet with extras à la carte, beautifully arranged by lovely staff. As Room 3 was adjacent to the breakfast room our feeling of privacy suffered a bit. My advice: Rather go for the Honeymoon Suite and you may have a perfect vacation..."
The Ocean View Guest House
"We loved our stay at this guest house - we had the penthouse apartment, which has panoramic views of the sea, along with its own pool. Unfortunately the weather was a little overcast, but it was amazing to be right on the beach and to wake up to the sounds of the sea in the morning."
Wilderness Beach Hotel
"This is a terrible hotel. Bad Smells, they fill the hotel with students and they were walking around at all hours of the morning, cockroaches in the bathrooms. I complained to the manager and he said they would give me a refund and when I left and contacted him he said they will not refund as they did not find cockroaches. My husband killed about 10 baby cockroaches in the bathroom and when i read other customer reviews there were MANY complaining about the same thing. So they still owe me the money. This hotel needs serious renovations- its not hotel standards any longer. They do not respond to emails and the manager Johan does not want to give me the owners details"
The Old Trading Post
"Staying locally and went for the much recommended pizza, we can say with confidence the pizza was fantastic. The hosts made us feel so welcome. The highlight was the desert which was a cheesecake on that particular evening, it was absolutely superb. Highly, highly recommended."
Shangri-La Manor
"The rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and very clean, offering a beautiful view from the balcony. We were warmly welcomed by our host, Juhan, and treated to a thoughtful snack platter in our room. We will definitely visit Eden View again."
Anew Resort Wilderness Garden Route
"Excellent hotel and Very helpful and Friendly Staff. I can highly reommend Wilderness Hotel. It is beautifully situated in Wilderness. The Staff are alway very friendly and helpful and one is treated like family. "
Serendipity Country House & Restaurant
"Serendipity is perfectly located, if your goal is to be in the heart of the Wilderness. the property is on the edge of the lagoon and provides incredible views of the Lagoon and the Wilderness. It is a quiet secluded spot just towards the end of Waterside Road on the way to Fairy Knowe Hotel. Our hosts, Rudolf and Lizelle, were absolutely wonderful. they welcomed us like we were old friends, and after showing us around the property, made every effort to make our stay special and very comfortable. We were fortunate enough to secure a booking at their top rated exclusive restaurant and that experience, was a gastronomic delight! To obtain a table for their dinner is difficult due to the quality of the food and the experience, however, if food is your thing, you have to try and secure a booking. Dinner at the restaurant is truly a magical experience, not to mention the incredible wine list which provides wines not only for every taste, but for every course that you will be lucky to be served. We count ourselves so fortunate to be able to have eaten there. On any given day, Breakfast is superb! you are greeted by a sumptuous yoghurt, fruit and granola starter with fresh fruit juice. Full continental breakfast available, and in addition, a hot breakfast made to order can also be had. Once again, all to the highest standard. The rooms are marvelous, so well equipped and designed, they lack for nothing and every detail has been thought of, in order to provide guests with a truly marvelous stay. For those who are a little more adventurous, canoes are available on the premises in case a row on the lagoon is your thing. Beach towels are provided for those who wish to explore the magnificent beaches that are in the area. We had an amazing time and will return. Exceptional accommodation and in our minds, real value for money. Rudolf and Lizelle, thank you for sharing Serendipity with us, we hope to be able to return really soon."
