"When you first drive up to this hotel it doesn't look the greatest however, we were given a fabulous room with stunning Seaviews. The cleanliness of the room was the best I've seen in a long time, the shower was superb, and level of service was excellent. I couldn't give it a 5 simply because it lacked something in atmosphere/vibe that was missing. All the staff we interacted with were really warm and friendly - well done!"

"Wilderness is a beach paradise, and Dune Villa is one of the best bed and breakfast hotels we have stayed in on our visits there. James made a special point of welcoming us in a down to earth and practical way. Our room overlooked the beach, and was very well equipped with lots of wardrobe space. A bit of a descent ( 102 steps) to the sand but an easy gradient so no problem. Staff all very attentive and friendly. Pool could be a bit bigger, but there's always the sea to swim in! Excellent breakfast, can't think of anything to complain about. James does a great job."

"We loved our stay at this guest house - we had the penthouse apartment, which has panoramic views of the sea, along with its own pool. Unfortunately the weather was a little overcast, but it was amazing to be right on the beach and to wake up to the sounds of the sea in the morning."

"This is a terrible hotel. Bad Smells, they fill the hotel with students and they were walking around at all hours of the morning, cockroaches in the bathrooms. I complained to the manager and he said they would give me a refund and when I left and contacted him he said they will not refund as they did not find cockroaches. My husband killed about 10 baby cockroaches in the bathroom and when i read other customer reviews there were MANY complaining about the same thing. So they still owe me the money. This hotel needs serious renovations- its not hotel standards any longer. They do not respond to emails and the manager Johan does not want to give me the owners details"

Off the beaten track in a private, quiet area, with plenty space for us to relax in the pool, braai or enjoy the scrumptious breakfasts and exceptional pizzas prepared by the hosts. Mike and René catered to all our needs and we thoroughly enjoyed the friendly chatter and personal service. I cant' wait to visit again!"

"Both me and my husband was on our honeymoon and we pick shangri-la manor for 3 night when we pass through gatden route, we loved our stay there! The property is so beautiful inside and out. Gives you a feeling of nobleness, classic and old charm style deco. When you step outside, the whole dynamic changed. Just wild and lush. The room super spacious and comfortable, the view from the room’s balcony was so stunning and breakfast was delicious. The host was doing everything to make us feel comfortable and at the end of our check out, we received a lovely surprise gift for our honeymoon. Overall, we are very much enjoy staying there and we strongly recommended this place. "

"It is a guest house - nice, well taken care of and recommendable but not a luxurious 4* place. Its great plus is the direct location at the sea overlooking Wilderness Beach which can be reached in a few minutes via a descending wooden boardwalk. Our room (no. 3) was a double with ocean view, two decks, a high ceiling with a chandelier, a wardrobe, a TV, a small sitting area and a bathroom. Regrettably the latter only had a somewhat wobbly bathtub and no separate shower. Breakfast came as a mini buffet with extras à la carte, beautifully arranged by lovely staff. As Room 3 was adjacent to the breakfast room our feeling of privacy suffered a bit. My advice: Rather go for the Honeymoon Suite and you may have a perfect vacation..."
