"Great location. Sparkling clean. Staff goes above and beyond to assist with anything. Food at breakfast cooked to order and delicious with an ocean view. Hiking trails a short drive away. Spectacular beach and a short safe walk into the village for dinner. We stayed 2 nights in between Storms River Mouth rest camp and a stay at Jeffrey Bay. Anyone would love to stay here. Jemma the manager is top notch as is the household staff. Secure gated parking onsite. "

The owners are kind and welcoming and made a point to say hi and check in on your stay at breakfast each morning. Oh, and the breakfast was delicious! Beautiful ocean views in the room and a good value! Not walkable to Wilderness was the only downside, but if you want a quiet and private place to stay this is it!!!"

"The Old Trading Post ticked all the boxes and provided us with exactly what we needed for the 4 days we spent in the Wilderness area. Off the beaten track in a private, quiet area, with plenty space for us to relax in the pool, braai or enjoy the scrumptious breakfasts and exceptional pizzas prepared by the hosts. Mike and René catered to all our needs and we thoroughly enjoyed the friendly chatter and personal service. I cant' wait to visit again!"

"This is a beautiful hotel surrounded by the lush beauty of the western cape in close walking distance to a choice of wonderful restaurants cafes and facilities. There is a lovely pool and the entrance hall is spectacularly beautiful. This hotel should score 5 and has the potential to be extraordinary. However, despite a decent sized room with lovely views and a terrace, the air con in our room was inadequate, the safe wasn't working, and the room smelled of damp. There were patches all over the walls where it was obvious maintenance had highlighted areas that need repainting, but nothing had been done about it. We also stopped off at the bar after visiting a local restaurant, and the bartender was nothing but curt and rude to us for no reason. Terrible service. Lots of potential with this place but closer attention to detail required by management to elevated experience."

"Such a wonderful location and superb hosts (Leane and Dion). The views are stunning, especially from the breakfast room, and the location means beach walks and the village are easy to do / reach. Our room was spacious, had its own deck area and loungers. The bathroom is luxurious, massive bath and double shower. Breakfast is cooked to order. This was a repeat visit and we'll definitely be back!"

"Firstly the name of the place we booked was Claiirwood Estate . We could not find as it does not exist. The name had been changed to Metanoia but we were not told. A neighbour near where the Google maps took us said to go there. No bell, no reception just tow big gates. Luckily gardener was in calling distance and let us in. Nobody to greet you and we assumed the one chalet with a key in the door was for us. No instructions in house re wifi, walks etc Everything well maintained and meticulous. lovely unit and big gardens and pool in forest. Great birding etc Just very weird to go somewhere and be the only people there with nobody to ask if we were even in the right place Eventually found a family member on the property who helped Very strange experience. Great board walks long path to rivers a few km away but no indication in chalet re anything at all. "

"This is a terrible hotel. Bad Smells, they fill the hotel with students and they were walking around at all hours of the morning, cockroaches in the bathrooms. I complained to the manager and he said they would give me a refund and when I left and contacted him he said they will not refund as they did not find cockroaches. My husband killed about 10 baby cockroaches in the bathroom and when i read other customer reviews there were MANY complaining about the same thing. So they still owe me the money. This hotel needs serious renovations- its not hotel standards any longer. They do not respond to emails and the manager Johan does not want to give me the owners details"
