The Chatsworth Hotel

Service was good with friendly staff. Room was very old, floor was unevenness, although was clean with nice seaview. Seagulls doesn't allow to sleep if you stay on the top floor room

there are 2 very good points and quite a few bad points Location is excellent almost in front of the sea, in a very nice area with restaurants and a long promenade on the sea. The guy at the desk was absolutely kind helpful and friendly. Structure is old fashioned, nice from outside but once you go to the rooms they are old, the heavy curtains smell dust as the carpet, bed was absolutely unconfortable as the mattress was too soft when I sat I thought I would be sitting on the floor. The worse part of it all are the wardrobe ( old, smelling closed ) and the bathroom which was very small with a tiny shower and a very tiny washbasin. It was very difficult to turn the shower off and I had to ask the kind guy at the desk to help me to turn it off . The room did not make me feel at ease at all.

Good Hotel.. It will be very helpful if cash is accepted instead of card only. Furthermore, the laundry service should be brought back and availability of microwave.

This lovely traditional hotel sits on the sea front located near to the beach restaurants and town. There can be some noise from the road and the floors and bathroom extractor fans are quite noisy. Staff were very polite and helpful. We were able to take our dog into our room and breakfast once ordered taken to our room to eat.

incredibly poor hotel for the price i had to pay, broken light fitting next to the bed, rotten mouldy bath shower screen, broken light fitting in the bathroom, mouldy shower pipe, musty smell in the wardrobes, uncomfortable bed, dirty windows, tiny television, paint coming off the door frames, complained to staff was not able to move as fully booked apparently! no offer of a complimentary breakfast or partial refund, was told if i can find somewhere else they would refund my stay! the price was far too much for what i actually got very poor hotel

Never again. Now to explain...I spent almost 26 years in Worthing and the Chatsworth was always one of the most luxurious of hotels. So when I spent the weekend in Worthing while my daughter and granddaughter stayed in the Premier Inn I opted for the Chatsworth. How I wish I hadnt. It took shabby to a new level. I was greeted by surly girl on reception and handed a key, advised my room 429 was on 3rd floor and up a "couple of steps" on the right after leaving the lift. The "staircase" was not only narrow, it was steep and leaning. My room was very cold. It was a large room with ane double and one singjd bed. The beds had spring mattresses which kind of "sprang" everytime I moved. The bathroom was in desperate need of updating and was narrow. This meant almost reversing in to sit on the loo. Again it was very cold, and the extractor fan was so loud I was worried to put the light on so as not to wake other guests. As an old building the floor sloped in various directions. The TV was the smallest I have ever seen in any hotel, and there was no air conditioning control had I needed it. There was a small kettle and tea and coffee but not neat and nicely presented just chucked on the shelf. Even the lampshades were stained. There were no sockets fir chargers near the bed. If I wanted any information about the hotel I needed to have a smart phone to access the QR code. Totally inappropriate for a hotel to make the assumption that every guest will have one! When I left in the morning I was going to say something, but on handing in the room key was not even asked if i'd had a nice stay just a grunt I cannot express enough how sad I felt. This had once been a lovely venue. Having paid double the cost of the premier inn to have had such an uncomfortable night I can honestly not recommend it to anyone.
