Great
HHades-SamaIt was a good stay.
The hotel did run out of hand wash and shower gel in the room. Upon asking for a refill I was told they ran out of hand wash but brought in 2 tiny shower gel tubes instead.
The card on the bed was dirty and had blotted stains of what I think was food.
Should have changed it as it was placed on the bed.
The hotel itself is very beautiful though and we didn't have any other issues there.
JJess BrowningFrom the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. The bunker room made for a unique and comfortable stay and loved the little touches like the KitKats in the room on arrival. The only small complaint would be the shower head sprayed out, the whole bathroom floor to become soaked, but nothing major at all. We’ll definitely be back and recommending to to anyone staying in York.
GGuest UserLocated right next to the train station (look for the York Tap and there’s a steps-free entrance right next to it), this historic hotel offered me the best hotel accommodation experience. Lovely breakfast and afternoon and drinks. The room is temperature controlled and you can stay cool in the hot days!
Aangels247Online check in wasn't working new system issues but that was ok. Very friendly staff. 24hr reception, menu etc. breakfast prices need updating as they are £8 not £6. Light help yourself breakfast pastries toast, cereal and coffee. Nice spacious dining hall. Plenty of communal areas to sit and relax and the bar is a great place to meet and chat to people. The stairs were a challenge after a long day for me but rooms comfy. Curtains around beds give you good privacy. Trinity church over the road has lots of history and worth a visit. Regency Chinese is a great place to eat a short walk away. Close to the walls, station, city, bridges etc.. great for sight seeing. In a quiet part of the city. Loved my stay. Would stay here again. Great value.
IIoannis GGood location close to city walls , 15min walking distance from train station.
Good English breakfast included in the room price. Room decent not fancy, perhaps a small renovation could be useful. Our room was at 3rd floor without lift so maybe is difficult for those with lot of baggages. The shower was fine with a lot of pressure despite being on the upper floor. It wasn’t possible to leave luggages after check out due to serious personal problem of the owner but in general he was very friendly willing to assist as was the one of the two ladies (dark hair) responsible for breakfast, always polite.
CCatSJPerfect hotel for a stay in York, fantastic location next to Monk Gate and right next to the Minister. Room was clean, spacious and shower was excellent with great water pressure and lovely toiletries. We didn’t go for the breakfast, which I am sure is delicious (certainly looked very tasty!) but you’re also in the midst of lots of cafes and restaurants if you’d rather get up and out to sample York’s delights.
PPing ShingHotel Reception has very good service. We are arrived at the hotel early but the reception also arranged hotel rooms for us, so felt that the hotel service was very good.
For other thins is the hotel room is a bit older but the room is clean. Overall has good service and hotel. Thank you
AAjLon”I am a chef and I travel a lot, staying at many different properties. This is my third time staying at a Holiday Inn, but I really do not like it. The only Holiday Inn property I enjoyed was in the Maldives; it was very nice. Now, I'm worried that the Maldives property might be similar to the others, so I’m hesitant to stay there again.
Please don’t ask me why I don’t like it, as there are many reasons. I just don’t feel that Holiday Inn meets the standards of a 4-star property. I believe that some non-branded 4-star properties are better than Holiday Inn.”
DDaniel069I had a fantastic stay at the Hull Humber View Hotel! The location is perfect, with stunning views of the Humber Bridge 🌉 and just a quick drive to Hull city center. My standard room was clean and comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. The service was top-notch; the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring I felt welcome throughout my stay. The facilities were decent, with a lovely bar and restaurant offering tasty meals. Overall, a solid 4.5 stars for a great solo getaway! Can't wait to return! 😄
Ddashv1llWe had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.
