Staying at this place is by far your best bet for beating the crowds at Zhangjiajie Forest Park and it even alḷows you to have an amazing sunrise and sunset! The host, Alex speaks very good English and helped us greatly with the planning of our circuit within the park. The accommodation itself is rather basic (with the weakest point being the bathroom which can flood and sometimes doesn't have enough water pressure) and you do have to give up some comforts for the benefit of staying within the Forest Park, but the trade-off is more than worth it – especially with this pricing. We didn't try the breakfast but the restaurant was an obvious choice for dinner, with delicious and reasonably priced meals 👌

We had a great experience at the Yunshang tea garden! Alex was super helpful and adviced us on the best routes in the park. Since it is the only hotel in the park, you get the chance to explore Zhangjiajie in opposite directions as the tour groups, making it easy to avoid big crowds.
The room was nice and clean, sometimes the bathroom was a bit smelly though. There is a restaurant where you can get breakfast (only noodle soup) and very nice dinner.
We would definitely recommend!!

Located inside 张家界森林公园, makes it very convenient to see sunrise & sunset. Sunset viewing is free, a short walk from the hostel. small fee chargeable for sunrise because the free bus service only starts at about 7:30am. Whole sky is filled with stars in the night. Can be seen with naked eyes, no need good camera 🤭 all the dishes for dinner were delicious and at affordable prices! Catch chicken & ducks running around if you are lucky.. only issue is the smell from toilet but I believe is because it is in the mountains..

Alex was very helpful and provided detailed instructions on touring the area and transport. We would have been lost without him! The location is convenient for visiting the Zhangjiajie Park itself but not so much if you are intending on visiting the other parks eg the Grand Canyon and Tianmen Mountain as it takes 2 hours by car to get to each place one way and you have to get back by 5pm before the park closes entry. We ended up staying only one night although we'd booked for 2 nights as we wanted to visit the other parks too. Still, due to its location, whilst we were there, we managed to avoid the crowds who were always heading in the opposite direction from us. :-) One thing we were disappointed about was on Trip, we'd booked a mountain view room and our window faced a building block. Apparently, there are no mountain facing rooms at all so this info needs to be amended.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Zhangjiajie national park. Recommended to those who want to fully experience its natural wonders. The staff speaks english and provides useful tips to plan your tour of the park.

Overall such a beautiful peaceful accomodation with easy access to zhanjiajie, definitely recommend! Tucked away, really quiet and peaceful, with access to an amazing sunset spot and unlimited local tea! I could have spent much longer just in this place as it was so peaceful and had access to walks and areas that the zhangjiajie masses wouldn’t know about. Evenings were warm and peaceful, and as long as you’re okay with crickets and grasshoppers it was so nice staying up late outside. The owner was knowledgable and spoke really good English and gave us a great itinerary for our 2 day trip. He seemed to be excellent at recommending quieter walks off the main areas, often requiring a fair hike but well worth it in such a beautiful area. We were lucky as it was beginning of September and overall not too busy, but during peak times I imagine this would be much needed. Food here is good value and pretty tasty, with lots of ingredients being grown on site which was really nice. More healthy veg dishes would be great tho as was in need of healthy dinners after eating crap out in the park all day!
Only things losing points would be the cleanliness of the place. The toilet smelt and the wet room flooded quickly when the shower was on and would stay that way for a long time (b209 if you read this!). Also the tables we ate on were quite dirty and sticky and could have done with a clean. Little things that could be fixed easily and made the place much nicer. Overall tho deffo recommend if you want a quiet retreat in zhangjiajie with easy access to the main park

100% would recommend!!! Most beautiful place to stay within the national park. If you like unique places, you should stay here. From the hotel it’s a 10 min walk to the best view over the mountains. Very nice staff. Food was tasty. Beds were too hard for us but everything else makes up for this. Cute kitten aswell.

Beautiful location in the park. The host is very friendly and helpful and speaks good english. I texted him via WeChat to get the instructions for the location.
As solo traveler, I met some nice people in the accommodation. Strong recommendation for this stay!!
