Stepping out, you're right by the dunes, perfect for watching the desert sunset in the evening, and at night, the sky is filled with a breathtaking Milky Way – the ambiance is absolutely incredible. The staff were warm and attentive, and any issues were quickly addressed. The camp also offered bonfires and fireworks, making it especially great for families with kids. To have such a fantastic living experience in the desert exceeded all my expectations. Highly recommended if you're visiting Zhongwei!"

"Who understands, my family members! Stayed in a super cool starry sky tent in the Zhongwei Desert in Ningxia! Ride a camel to see the endless sand dunes during the day, and lie on the terrace to count the stars at night! The chef is amazing, every dish is delicious, the sizzling meat skewers grilled by the guy, the crispy butter wrapped with cumin burst on the tip of your tongue! The Border Collie named "Diandian" has been squatting like a stone statue, with the sand swept up by its tail rising and falling with the smell of meat, just waiting for you to feed it! The surfing car during the day and the bonfire party at night are all worth it. Now looking at the group photo on my phone, with its furry head still rubbing against my knees, I really want to pack my luggage right away and rush to Beidou Xingye!"

The sunsets were stunning, and there were so many stars visible at night."

"We stayed here for a one-night stay in the desert with our kids, and it was only a little over 100 yuan – a great deal! The receptionist was very nice; we arrived around 11 pm and they upgraded us since there were rooms available. There are many vendors selling selenium-rich watermelons near the entrance (local drivers said 10 yuan each, 15 yuan for two; I bought mine at the night market for 1.5 yuan per jin). There's a lamb restaurant to the right outside; their hand-pulled lamb is good, but the barbecue is not. A taxi from the train station costs 6 yuan (there will be touts along the way, but it's a local custom; you get used to it). A taxi to Jinshahai costs 50 yuan (the closest and most affordable place to do desert activities in Zhongwei). We'll definitely come back next time!"

The room also had a strong new renovation smell. Furthermore, the bathroom had a very bad sewage smell, and the exhaust fan would automatically turn on and off whenever the bathroom door was opened or when sitting on the toilet, which was a bit noisy."

There were free drinks in the mini-fridge, and in the afternoon, they even delivered half a chilled, super-sweet and delicious watermelon to my room!"

"I have to say, the scenery is absolutely beautiful! Our room was at the very end, so there was no busy corridor outside the door. We stepped right out onto open sand dunes. It was quiet and clean, and the kids could dig in the sand and watch the sunset nearby. We didn't have to fight crowds at popular photo spots, and the pictures turned out stunning. It took about 8-12 minutes to walk to the main building's restaurant, pool, observatory, and stargazing class. Although the hotel golf carts are supposed to be on-call, during peak hours, you often have to wait for one. Relying on the shuttle for meals during the day and activities at night is necessary, as walking is quite tiring, especially with the hot weather and strong sun – that part wasn't great!"

"I checked out yesterday at noon. I booked the hotel after seeing it advertised in a live stream. I was really interested in this new hotel, which just opened in August. Before going, I specifically checked the reviews, and they weren't great; most complaints were about the service. I decided to give it a try anyway and booked for two nights. I understand that building a hotel in the desert is expensive, and the owner is clearly aiming for a long-term business model. However, given all the effort and investment, why is the service so lacking? The hardware facilities are actually quite decent, but the service truly falls short. Firstly, there was no greeting from the bellhop; they just immediately asked about check-in and took my luggage. At the front desk, the staff member processed my check-in without even looking up, no smile, no tea, no candies. After we got to the room, there were flies. I contacted a staff member, and they just brought an electric fly swatter for us to deal with ourselves. My child had nosebleeds on both the first and second day, and when I asked if there was a medical room, they said no, and that I'd have to go to Zhongwei city to buy supplies. There wasn't even the most basic level of concern. On the day of check-in, we received a fruit platter, but we hardly ate it because it was mostly apples, and the pears needed peeling. On the second day, there was no disposable toothbrush for my child, and the single-use toiletries were incredibly small, completely different from what was advertised. Overall, the experience was very poor. If the owner continues to operate like this, fewer and fewer people will visit. The breakfast was also mediocre, and I have pictures to prove it. The only thing I was most satisfied with was the hotel's design style, which is very beautiful and great for photos. It's such a shame that a hotel with such good design is let down by its service."

"The bathroom floor in the room was unclean and there were unknown objects. There was a peculiar smell when entering the room in a newly opened hotel. The hotel management is in disarray and the service staff needs to be trained more. I couldn't see the TV in the room. I called the front desk seven or eight times but no answer. I had to take the elevator downstairs to the front desk. The front desk called a male security guard and checked it in and out three times. It took about an hour to realize that the remote control was missing. one! These should be checked when checking out! The most important thing is for us two girls. It was after 12 o'clock in the evening, which was very inconvenient! I forgot the charger in the room. When I went back to pick it up, the front desk asked me to give a good review based on the conditions. I wonder if it was because we, young students, felt bullied and my friend only gave me the charger after agreeing. This made me very angry. As a consumer, I was so criticized. Merchant threatens with lost items! This is the first time I’ve given a negative review after staying in so many hotels!"
