Best Viewing Period

The best viewing period for magnolias is from March to April each year. In the early stage, the buds are just beginning to bloom, and the white petals dot the branches. In the middle stage, the magnolias are in full bloom, forming a spectacular sea of flowers. In the late stage, the petals begin to fall, creating a dreamy white rain curtain.

Western Sichuan - A land untouched by civilization!

Western Sichuan - A land untouched by civilization!

Western Sichuan is really too beautiful!!!! There's no need to leave Sichuan to enjoy a feast of snowy mountains. Compared to Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan, it's all very close. Sharing some lesser-known spots to view snowy mountains I hope you can also see such beautiful snowy mountains Se'erkaka Village This is a village under the snowy mountains. When I went there, the snow had almost melted. If you go in autumn or winter, it will definitely be more shocking! Navigate to Se'erkaka Village from Xinduqiao. When you're almost there, you'll pass through a village. It's about a 30-minute drive. Jiagenba The Oser Flower Sea, a fairy-tale paradise. Kangding Airport Road Both Highway 434 and 318 can get you there. It's recommended to park your car on the open plateau in front. This road is super beautiful, and you can see Mount Gongga all the way. The best photography spot is at the low position on Rainbow Road. Siding Lake At an altitude of 4200, it's recommended to take National Highway 434. You can drive directly to the foot of the snowy mountain. The photography spot is at the low position opposite the lake. It feels like you're standing right under Mount Gongga. There's a 10 yuan cleaning fee. Gunong Village Also a snowy mountain stream that can be reached by car🚗. You can see the full view of Yala Snow Mountain, with cattle and sheep all around, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. This is a stunning spot to view Yala Snow Mountain. Yala Snow Mountain Scenic Area My favorite snowy mountain! Very few people go to Yala. I've been there three times and it was almost deserted each time. This place is super close to the snowy mountain, with beautiful streams, and you can camp here. Waiting for the sunset on the golden mountain here is super romantic. Siye Yala Near Se'erkaka Village, there are also streams and meadows, and you can see Yala Snow Mountain up close. Compared to Gunong Village, it's basically deserted, and camping is free. Balang Shengdu The altitude is 4300. This place is very close to Yala Snow Mountain, and you can also see the full view of Mount Gongga. It's more off the beaten path than Yuzixi, with very few people. You can see both Gongga and Yala, about 20 kilometers in front of Gunong Village. Yala Snow Mountain Camping Base Streams, meadows, and a day under the snowy mountain - it's too romantic. Gaersi Mountain Heishi City At an altitude of 4300, when I first saw the full view of Mount Gongga, I was stunned. This was the closest I've ever been to Gongga! Heishi City is a must-visit in this lifetime. You need a car with strong off-road capabilities. ❄️Snow Mountain Circuit Recommendation Day 1: Chengdu - Kangding - Highway 434 - Honghaizi - Airport Road - Siding Lake - Xinduqiao (You can see snowy mountains all along this route) Day 2: Xinduqiao - Se'erkaka Village - Siye Yala - Gunong Village - Balang Shengdu - Tagong - Stay in Bamei Day 3: Tagong - Yala Snow Mountain Scenic Area (If you have enough time, you can make a trip to Heishi City) Return to Chengdu via Danba, or take Highway 434 back to Chengdu from Tagong. Note 1. The temperature on the plateau is low, with large temperature differences. Even in summer, you need to bring a thick down jacket. 2. As long as there is no heavy snow closing the mountains, there is no need for anti-skid chains. 3. Many snowy mountains can be accessed by sedan cars. The dressing table at Gaersi Mountain can also be reached by sedan. To go up to Heishi City, you need an off-road vehicle

jiuZhaiGou Beautiful Fairytale World

Jiuzhaigou is a famous scenic area located in Zhangzha Town, Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is named after the nine Tibetan villages within the valley, though only three of these villages are currently inhabited. The valley is filled with pristine forests and numerous lakes of varying sizes, offering unique scenery throughout the four seasons. Known as a "beautiful fairytale world," Jiuzhaigou is home to diverse flora and fauna, including rare wildlife like giant pandas. Its snow-capped peaks, untouched forests, crystal-clear lakes, Tibetan villages, and traditional cultural elements create a distinctive cultural and natural landscape. Key areas within the valley include Shuzheng Valley and Zechawa Valley. Jiuzhaigou's natural beauty and cultural charm complement each other, with each season offering unique scenery. The vibrant lakes and reflections of snow-capped mountains in autumn and winter are particularly captivating, providing visitors with a poetic and picturesque experience. The Nuorilang Waterfall is one of Jiuzhaigou's most famous landmarks, located in the Rize Valley section. It is one of Sichuan's largest waterfalls, standing at an altitude of 2,365 meters, with a width of 270 meters and a height of 24.5 meters. As one of China's major travertine waterfalls and the widest waterfall in the country, it presents a magnificent natural spectacle. Since Jiuzhaigou's opening hours are typically from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a two-day itinerary is recommended to fully experience the beauty and attractions of the area. Considering the vast size of Jiuzhaigou, with its widely distributed lakes, waterfalls, forests, and Tibetan villages, a one-day visit may not allow for a comprehensive tour. It’s indeed a bit regretful not to have explored all the scenic spots in Jiuzhaigou this time, especially given its breathtaking beauty and the unique charm of each site. However, this leaves something to look forward to for the next visit! #travelanywhere #jiuzhaigou #travelchina #travel #china

Strolling Ancient Langzhong: Charm and Mystery

#traveldiaries Located in the northern part of Sichuan Province and in the middle reaches of the Jialingjiang River, the ancient city of Langzhong is a famous historical and cultural city. Located in the southern part of Langzhong Urban Area, the Ancient City of Langzhong is the only fully preserved ancient city in Sichuan Province. Langzhong has a long history. During the Warring States period, it was the national capital of Ba State. From the Han Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, it was the center of astronomical research in China. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Langzhong was the temporary capital of Sichuan Province for 19 consecutive years. Due to its unique geographical location, Lanzhong has always been the political, economic, military and cultural center of Sichuan Province. This is the cradle of several cultures including culture of himba, the culture of geomancy, the culture of the Three Kingdoms, the culture of imperial examinations, ancient astronomy, religious directions, folk culture, culinary culture and etc. The ancient streets there are a treasure trove, which houses the ancient buildings of the cities of Ba and Shu. What is most remarkable is the ancient streets of different widths and lengths, just like in the poems, among which ancient courtyards, ancient houses and ancient trees are scattered. The ancient streets are so unique and exquisite that they deserve to be called an exotic flower in Chinese architectural culture. Combining the characteristics of quadrangular dwellings in northern China and gardens in the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta, the ancient dwellings of Langzhong differ in building styles - some resemble a string of beads, some look like the Chinese character "品", some look like the Chinese character "多". Surrounded by mountains and waters, Langzhong enjoys a reputation as a "picturesque land" and a "fortress of Ba and Shu cities." The long history has given Langzhong a magnificent culture and more than 200 attractions that still sparkle with brilliance. Langzhong has 4 key cultural relics sites under national protection and 13 cultural relics sites under provincial protection.

Just after leaving the house, I found a magnificent temple by the roadside... I checked the map and found out its name is Dongga Temple. Feeling inspired, I decided to go up the mountain. The scenery at the top is really beautiful, with a vast sky and clouds, offering an unobstructed view. The temple exudes a sense of understated luxury from the outside to the inside, with various statues of deities inside... There were also lamas chanting scriptures with great concentration. Although it has been around for 500 years, compared to the bustling F Academy, it feels a bit obscure... even a bit desolate... But I quite like it here, with its peaceful and serene atmosphere... The national road from Seda to Ganzi completely exceeded my expectations... No wonder some people call Route 317 the 'Road of Hell.' Not only is it at a high altitude, but it's also full of sharp, winding mountain roads with cliffs on one side and steep slopes on the other, making the drive heart-pounding... But the scenery is truly beautiful, offering an endless view at the peak... Snow-capped mountains, grasslands, lakes, surrounded by clouds and mist. I deeply regret not bringing my pocket camera to capture it all... The section from Ganzi to Dege was not favored by the weather, with some drizzling rain, so I couldn't capture the best state of Yulong Laco (Xinlu Lake) as I passed by... The rain got heavier and heavier, so instead of rushing, I decided to have a cup of roaming coffee ... Today's insights: * I didn't do enough research. After leaving Seda, I should have taken the Ganbai Road to see Yaqing Temple. I hesitated at the intersection but ultimately took Route 317, mainly considering the electric car's range... * The second hesitation today was at Zhashi Teling Temple, whether to take a detour to Cuotong Cui Lake. The guide said the road conditions were poor, and I was worried about tire damage from gravel and the low ground clearance... So I gave up, feeling a bit regretful... An off-road vehicle would have been better.

Instead of the popular Xichang, I recommend these less-known hidden gems!

In the mysterious land of Western Sichuan, there are countless astonishing hidden places. Whether it's the sea of flowers in spring or the greenery in summer, there's always a beautiful scene that makes people linger. Today, I want to recommend to you those hidden gems that are less popular and more charming than the internet-famous check-in spots. Whether you are on a long holiday during the Spring Festival or on a short trip, you can drive there to experience the beauty that is rarely known. 🔥【Off-season, less crowded scenic spots】 ✅Mount Siguniang (Xiaojin County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province) This place, known as the 'Swiss scenery', is definitely worth visiting with your family. The snow mountains in Shuangqiao Valley are close at hand, and there are exciting rafting projects for you to play. The snow covering the road in winter is breathtakingly beautiful. ✅Daocheng Yading (Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province) Daocheng Yading, a place that makes people yearn for. The unique mountain and river scenery here is an ideal place for girls to take pictures. No matter how others evaluate it, you should come and experience the wonders of nature. ✅Bipenggou (Lixian County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province) A summer resort in summer and a snow paradise in winter. The ticket is only 130 yuan, with high cost performance! The Shanghaizi Trail and the waterfall and swing under Panyang Lake are excellent places for photo check-ins. ✅Dagu Glacier (Heishui County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province) The Dagu Glacier in winter is dreamy and beautiful, with snow-covered peaks and distant blue lakes reflecting each other. The coffee house here is also a popular place for photo check-ins. 【Less-known hidden gems in Western Sichuan】 🌲Moon Lake (Kangding City, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province) Compared to the popular Xichang, the flow of people in Moon Lake is much less. But the scenery here is no less than anywhere else, with mountains, lakes, cattle and sheep, it's an excellent place for camping, hiking, and relaxing. ⛺️Gunong Village (Tagong Town, Kangding City, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province) Gunong Village is not a real village, but a beautiful camping site near Tagong Town, a 10-minute drive away. Here you can find streams, snow mountains, grasslands and Tibetan wooden houses, as if it's a gathering place of nature's charm. 🌃Siye Yala (Yala Township, Kangding City, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province) Although many people know about Muya Temple, the hidden gem of Siye Yala is rarely known. The camping site, which is only a 15-minute drive away, is an ideal place to take beautiful photos. In the evening, you can enjoy the spectacular sunset, and at night, you can look up at the brilliant starry sky. 🏔️Xiaze Tong Village (Litang County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province) This is the hometown of Ding Zhen, and also the location of a European-style log cabin hidden on the hillside. In summer, the mountains are full of wild flowers, forming a beautiful picture. There are too many astonishing hidden gems hidden in the land of Western Sichuan. In addition to the places mentioned above, there are also the Eye of Ge'nyen, Zebavillage, Gemu Village, Cuopugou, Seda, Mao Ya Prairie and other places that are equally beautiful. 🚗【Sharing a route to less-known hidden gems】 D1: Chengdu-Kangding-Airport Road-Xichang-Xinduqiao D2: Xinduqiao-Sequka Village-Siye Yala-Muya Temple-Gunong Village-Balangshengdu-Bamei D3: Tagong-Yala Snow Mountain Scenic Area-Mount Siguniang-Chengdu ⚠️Tips for playing Be sure to bring cash, many places in Western Sichuan have no signal. The temperature difference between morning and evening on the plateau is large, so prepare enough clothes just in case. It's best to drive a powerful SUV to Western Sichuan, because many hidden places have potholes on the road.
