Experience the joy of skiing at the Joy Ski Hotel: The excellent skiing experience cannot be overshadowed by the shortcomings
Let's talk about the shortcomings first:
🚩The room we booked this time is larger than the last time, but the floor is lower. The activities that start at 8:30 in the morning (often dancing) can be heard very clearly, and sometimes there is a bit of resonance, which has some impact on children with regular routines. Our child is still in the first grade and usually goes to bed at eight o'clock.
🚩The level of coaches this time is uneven. Although we met an older British coach who was very responsible, and a British coach named Michael (who looks like Ed Sheeran), it was not bad! But other young coaches are a bit casual, basically just let you practice yourself.
Now let's talk about the advantages:
🚩The price of this season is already cheaper than when we went last time. A friend said that the most cost-effective is to book a one-week ClubMed package including airfare. And this season, the business hours of Sahoro Village have been extended to April 10 this year, unlike last summer when it was not open.
🚩As a ski hotel, it is really recommended for people who like skiing! According to your skiing rhythm, if you miss lunch, there is a late lunch option, if you miss this time, the crepes at the bar are also a good choice. For those of us who are not so keen on skiing, apart from classes, we might feel a bit bored.
🚩The hotel is very friendly to children, especially those who like attention. As soon as my older brother arrived at the hotel, the front desk GO shouted: 'xxx is back!' Everyone knows him, and everyone will ask him how long he plans to stay here this time. The experience is really great! 👏🥳
If you have the chance, you must come to Hokkaido for skiing once
The skiing skills that have been dormant for three years have finally come in handy again.
The main purpose of coming to Japan is to ski. Originally, Hakuba was scheduled, but it was temporarily cancelled the day before because it was heard that there was almost no snow in Hakuba. I thought I could only stay in Tokyo because it's not very realistic for more than 20 people to book anything at the last minute. But unexpectedly, with the joint efforts of everyone, a trip to Hokkaido was arranged at the last minute. It's a good thing we went! This is my first time skiing in Japan, which is really different from skiing in Beijing.
The key is that the powder snow allows me to ski without any psychological burden; three years ago in Chongli, I was always cautious about the ice. Mainly because I had a big fall at that time, I was a bit scared. In short, skiing in Chongli is like eating shaved ice, while skiing in Hokkaido is like eating silky and dense ice cream.
⛷️Kiroro: Not many people (probably because it's not the weekend), there are 7-8 ski trails open. Both the pressed and unpressed black trails are worth a try, very exciting! The intermediate trail is suitable for practicing carbine. Most of the ski trails seem to close at 3:30. Lunch went to the cafeteria lumiere, with many choices and good ingredients! Highly recommended!
🏨A-Brand Hotel: It's a castle! It's a hot golf club in summer. It's less popular in winter, so it can accommodate more than 20 of us. There are four or five floors in total (the 5th floor is a 180°C glass-enclosed circular loft room. It's beautiful and cold). Because there are few people in winter, the heating supply is not enough, and there is no special person to make breakfast. The hotel facilities are not new. Except for the quilt being a bit small and the heating not being large enough, everything else is okay. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the ski resort. There is a special car and meals are included. The most important thing is that it is economical. It's already very satisfying to be able to find such a place where everyone can move freely for temporary arrangements. Everything that should be there is there! It's a choice, especially when many hotels in Hokkaido are full and expensive.
Once again, I marvel at the feel of the powder snow! I skied for three days in a row and felt it was not enough!

Club Med Kiroro Grand Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Great ski-in ski-out hands-free experience for families
Expensive but great experience at the new Club Med Kiroro Grand. Loved the bracelet system which also act as the room key. My 9 yrs old daughter happily explore the entire facility with her new found friends before returning to her room on own. Only caution - the onsen, swimming pool and gym/sport facilities is in the next building, so be warned about braving the cold when going over.
