Spain Tossa Travel Guide
Hi! Friends, today I want to recommend a super niche travel destination to everyone - Tossa in Spain! This beautiful village has narrow cobblestone alleys, beautiful boutiques and gourmet restaurants, and is a very suitable place for vacation.
First of all, I recommend everyone to go hiking in Cala Llevadors. This trail extends along the coastline to Castillo de Tossa, and you can admire multiple bays and attractions along the way, ending at Codolar Beach. From the cliff, you can overlook the entire sea, the scenery is super spectacular!
Walking in the old town, you can see the ruins of the medieval castle wall that once stood here. There are cafes and delicious seafood restaurants in the castle, where you can taste delicious food while admiring the beautiful sea view.
In addition, don't miss the two popular photo spots in the town. One is the square stone gate, which is also one of the filming locations of Jeon Ji-hyun's 'Legend of the Blue Sea', and the photo effect is super good! The other is a iron door through the bridge hole, behind the iron door is the blue sea, standing here to take pictures, as if in a fairy tale world.
In terms of transportation, it is not far from Barcelona, and it takes about an hour to drive. I suggest everyone to go to Tossa for a day or spend a leisurely weekend, and feel the unique charm of this beautiful village!

Girona
Girona, Catalunya - Spain.
🏰
If you find yourself in Girona you must walk over the many bridges that cross the Onyar river. The photos show the views from different bridges, you can appreciate the river and also very beautiful houses of different colours. 📸
Another must when you visit this small city is going for a walk on the historical city center Barri Vell (Old Town) until arriving to the Girona Cathedral. The Old Town it is also famous because of being one of the filming spots of Game of Thrones.
Enjoy Catalonia!

- Punta d’en Pau (same scenic route): expect dramatic coastlines and open vistas—ideal for nature-lovers.
- Cala Pedrosa (Gerona, 17248 S'Agaró): a pocket-sized cove with clear waters and rocky backdrops, open year-round.
- Casa Sibils (17248 S'Agaró): Western-style architecture meets Mediterranean atmosphere.
- Mirador de S'Agaró & Plaça Mirador: unbeatable lookout points—sunny days are magic here.

If you ask me which European country I like best, Spain is the obvious choice! This is my Nth trip to Spain, but I recommend these cities that are always unique and enjoyable! ✨
📍Seville
The starting point for my Andalusian adventure. From flamenco to orange groves and the scorching sun—this city offers the most authentic experience of southern Spain.

A historic city, renowned for the Alhambra Palace. The landscape, a blend of Islamic and Christian cultures, is impressive, and the entire city is at its most beautiful at sunset.
📍Málaga
A southern coastal city with a perfect balance of city and sea. Close to art galleries, beaches, and the old town, it's a great place for a relaxing stay.
📍Nerja
A small coastal town near Málaga. Famous for its views of the Mediterranean Sea from the Balcon de Europe, this is a great place to enjoy the quiet sea.
📍Mijas
A quintessential white village. The view from the hilltop is breathtaking, and even a short stop is perfect for photos.
📍Madrid
The heart of Spain and its most vibrant city. Experience the daily lives of locals up close, with art galleries, plazas, and nightlife.
📍Toledo (near Madrid)
A city that retains its medieval charm. It's a great day trip, and every street feels like a time travel.
📍Barcelona
A city where Gaudí architecture and the Mediterranean Sea coexist. Enjoy sightseeing, relaxation, and art all in one! A must-visit on any Spanish trip.

Girona, lo
Girona, located in Catalonia, Spain, is a historic city that blends medieval charm with modern vibrancy, just an hour's drive from Barcelona.
Girona Cathedral: Famous for its Gothic nave, the second widest in the world, its magnificent 90 steps served as a filming location for the Great Sept of Baelor in the TV series *Game of Thrones*.
Colorful Houses and the Eiffel Bridge (Pont de les Peixateries Velles): The colorful houses along the Onyar River are a signature feature of the city. The red iron bridge spanning the river was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the architect of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
El Call: One of the best-preserved medieval Jewish neighborhoods in Europe, its labyrinthine alleyways exude atmosphere.
Medieval City Walls (Passeig de la Muralla): Strolling along the ancient city walls offers spectacular panoramic views of the entire old town. In the late afternoon of December, around three or four o'clock, the afterglow of the setting sun shines on the ancient city, making you feel like you're in a fairy tale world.

vall de núria — easy weekend from barcelona ⛰️🚞
perfect “mountains but no car” escape from barcelona. you take a normal rodalies train on line r3 to ribes de freser, then switch to the cremallera rack railway, the only way into the valley. the train climbs 12.5 km and more than 1,000 m in about 40 minutes with big windows and crazy views (^▽^)ノ
if you want it simple, look at the treNatura combined ticket: it includes round trip on rodalies from any station in catalunya to ribes de freser + rack railway up to vall de núria in one pass.
up in the valley there’s a hotel right by the lake, plus apartments and a small sanctuary. it’s open all year: in winter you have a small ski resort with a few lifts, sledding and snowshoe routes; in summer and autumn it turns into a hiking base with trails for all levels.
around the lake you can rent little boats or canoes, try the leisure park and mini-golf with kids, or just sit on the grass and stare at the peaks. (。•‿•)っ horse/pony routes and a cable car up to the viewpoints make it feel like a full mini-resort without cars or roads.
for a weekend from barcelona it’s very low-stress: train → rack railway → drop bags at the hotel → choose between hikes, snow or boat time, then watch the stars at night with zero city noise.

Fall in love with Girona, a hidden healing city outside Barcelona
Just 40 minutes from Barcelona. The moment I stepped off the train, I could feel the difference in the air. Girona is not a large city, but the entire place can be described with one word: 'tranquility.'
Walking along the Onyar River, the first thing that catches your eye is the colorful houses lined up along the river. The scenery, which I had only seen in photos, felt much warmer in person, and even the colors reflected in the river seemed like an integral part of the city.
The highlight of this trip was the Jewish Quarter (El Call). With every step, the cobblestone streets made a soft crunching sound, and the light in the alleys gradually changed with the time of day, creating a completely different atmosphere. It felt less like a tourist spot and more like a brief journey back in time. With few people around, I could fully immerse myself in the city's quiet breathing.
A visit to Girona Cathedral is a must. The stairs are a bit steep, but the panoramic view at the top makes all the effort worthwhile. Looking out over the entire city, I immediately understood why so many travelers to Spain recommend Girona. The red rooftops and stone walls come together to create a picture-perfect scene.
As I strolled leisurely, I felt as if the city's pace had adjusted to mine, bringing a sense of comfort. Sitting at a café with a cup of local coffee, gazing at the alleys, was pure healing—something you could never experience in a bustling metropolis crowded with tourists.
While a day trip is enough to explore Girona, I honestly felt like staying overnight next time. I couldn't help but wonder what the city would feel like at night.
Girona may not be a famous city, but it’s a place that makes you rethink the essence of travel. It reminds you of the value of 'slowness' and how a small city can leave such a lasting impression.
If you have plans to visit Barcelona, make sure to set aside just one day to visit Girona. Even on the way back, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and it will likely remain one of the most memorable destinations of my trip to Spain.
