Stayed at Mercure Carrara and had such a calm, relaxing experience. The atmosphere was peaceful, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and everything felt easy and stress-free. We spent time enjoying the facilities, relaxing by the pool, and just slowing down for a bit. The staff were lovely and welcoming which made the stay even better. Definitely a nice little getaway to recharge and unwind.

Arriving in Carrara, Australia, I specifically chose the "Mercure Gold Coast Resort" as my base. Staying right next to the golf course and away from the city hustle, it's absolutely perfect if you're looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway. The hotel features a massive pool and fantastic family facilities. Plus, it's dog-friendly! Having experienced it firsthand, I can confidently say it's the ultimate vacation spot to chill with your furry friends. Located at 64 Palm Meadows Dr, the environment is absolutely top-notch. Looking out the window, you'll see lush palm trees, clear blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and the sparkling pool—get ready to snap tons of incredible photos! There's plenty of parking (and it's free!), making it completely stress-free for road trippers. It’s only a 15-minute drive from the downtown area, so hitting up the markets, shopping, and finding great Instagram spots is super convenient. As soon as you walk into the hotel, you can tell it's packed with amenities: a pool, gym, tennis court, and a kids' center. The highlight is definitely the giant outdoor chessboard with big white pieces—it's a fun playground for both kids and adults to burn off some energy. The hotel breakfast might not be the best in town, but if you drive out, there are plenty of amazing local cafés to choose from at your own pace. 📅 Itinerary Day1:we hired a car for a day trip with the group to Byron Bay which is just over an hour drive from the air port. We stopped by Crystal castle on the way there. The place was so relaxing and peaceful. Day2: We made another trip to visit Burleigh Head beach which is one of the most popular beaches in Gold Coast. There is a restaurant and bar just across the beach so you can chill and relax after enjoyed the fun at the beach Day3: We enjoyed the facilities at the resort with many activities for the kids but adults can enjoy too. Soaked up in the swimming pool and heated jacuzzi. Kids have their swimming pool separated to adult pool with water slides and water activities which they loved so much. The resort also have tennis course and golf course. There’s a handful of restaurants for you to choose from. Nope this isn't Italy - this is in the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia! Emerald Lakes to be precise, with beautiful Italian architecture (with a touch of French), decorated with fountains, a waterside, beautiful staircase and even a replica of Michaelangelo's David!⛲ It was a beautiful day, so we took our time, exploring the beautiful scenery. The waterside made it look a bit like Venice, and/coastal Italy. It was incredible!💚🤍❤️ After a while, mummy took us to the other side, over the small bridge to a lovely little garden for us to sit and have a rest in the shade. There you can see the whole thing, and it's beautiful! We can't understand why this area isn't talked about! To cap off our lengthy road trip, we spent a night at Mercure Gold Coast Carrara. If a beach experience is what you seek, this might not be the spot, but for great value in a family-friendly setting with an impressive Bar and Restaurant, it’s ideal. We reserved a King resort room on the second floor with a view of the golf course. The resort shows its age, yet the roomy space was well-maintained, featuring a large bathroom with a tub and shower. The grounds are immaculate, and during my wanderings, I discovered a little herb garden. Lunch is offered at the Cart Bar and restaurant, with breakfast and dinner at the Green Restaurant. We skipped dinner due to a limited menu and our dietary restrictions. Lunch at the Cart Bar was enjoyable, with a variety to choose from, and light evening meals are also available. Both eateries feature nice indoor and outdoor seating with views of the golf course or the large outdoor pool. Breakfast is a buffet with a wide selection. This resort is perfect for kids, and there were a few tour groups, given its size. I recommend this hotel for a short stay, especially if you’re touring around.
