The Best Hotel on Margarita Island
Sunsol Ecoland isn't about flashy luxury; it’s all about the vibes. Picture this: you step out of your room in the morning, spot an iguana strolling by, and find yourself surrounded by lush palms and tropical greens. Just a few minutes later, you’re standing on a massive, golden sandy beach.
🌴 There’s so much to do here
The grounds are huge but laid out perfectly. You’ve got 7 pools (including one with salt water), 3 restaurants, a snack bar, 5 bars, a sports bar, mini-golf, and a volleyball court.
The coolest part? They have their own mangrove lake. You can hop in a boat and drift through, soaking in the nature. Iguanas are everywhere, and exotic birds fly overhead.
🌴 Now, let’s talk about the beach
This is where the hotel truly shines. We’re talking nearly a kilometer of wide sandy shore with plenty of loungers and free cabanas.
The waves here are lively, and the water gets deep pretty fast—perfect for those who love playing in the surf. If you prefer calmer waters, a short walk toward Hesperia leads to a cozy, sheltered bay.
You can even grab a kayak for free and explore the coastline.
🌴 What’s the food like?
It’s not fine dining, but you definitely won’t go hungry. They always serve meat, chicken, fish, and traditional Venezuelan dishes.
But the fruit? That’s where they won me over. Watermelon, papaya, melon, guava, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, and fresh smoothies. Sometimes there’s even seafood.
Don’t miss out on the local arepas, fried plantains, and black beans.
🌴 And then there’s the rum 🍹
You can’t have Margarita without it—it’s like a beach without the sea.
They serve it every way you can imagine: Piña Coladas, Daiquiris, Mojitos, you name it. They also have whiskey, gin, sangria, and bottled beer.
If you’re craving something bubbly, there’s a shop on-site with a great selection of Cava.
🌴 The best views are at sunset
There’s a lighthouse right by the hotel. You have to climb it at least once, especially in the evening.
The view of the coast is stunning, and the sunset is a show in itself. You can go on your own or head up with the animation team.
🌴 Traveling with kids?
They’ve got two pools for the little ones, a mini-club, a playground, and kids' entertainment before the nightly shows.
The grounds are flat and spacious, making it very stroller-friendly.
If you’re planning a trip to Margarita Island, I highly recommend this spot! 🇻🇪🌴
