#hikingtime #100WaysOfTravel Hike with me and discover new findings. On my recent hike to Toru aux Cerfs, I came across this interesting blue weather station at a secluded part on the hiking trail. I came to realize that this is an importation weather station for Mauritius Meteorological Services to check for weather forecasts, patterns and tracking cyclones. It looked old from the outside but it is still working well. Since it is situated on a volcano so it is on a higher ground to monitor the entire island. Luckily there is a hiking trail and cars can pass through or else it will be a long walk for the weathermen to come here everytime.The views here are amazing as it look out towards Indian Ocean. #mauritius #traveltips #liveyourdreams #takethattrip

We had the pleasure of having Mr. Ro as our travel guide during our stay in Mauritius, and the experience was outstanding from beginning to end. After a rather hectic term at the university in Bristol, I felt a strong urge to escape to somewhere with a bit of depth, history, and a slower pace of life. Serbia had been on my reading list for some time, and it turned out to be just the tonic I needed. I started in Belgrade, spending my first afternoon wandering up to the Kalemegdan Fortress. Standing on those ancient stone ramparts, watching the Sava and Danube rivers merge under a soft, hazy sunset, was truly spectacular. There was a quiet dignity to the view. Nearby, an elderly gentleman was sitting on a bench, softly whistling to a stray dog whilst sharing his bread—one of those lovely, quiet street-corner moments that tell you so much about a city's soul. A short bus ride out to Zemun felt like stepping into an entirely different era. I spent a delightful hour by the Danube, watching the swans glide across the water. Just up a cobbled alleyway, I noticed a tiny, unassuming ice cream parlour with a long queue of locals. Naturally, I joined them, and was pleasantly surprised by a scoop of plum and cinnamon ice cream that tasted exactly like autumn. From Belgrade, I took the train up to Novi Sad. The highlight was undoubtedly the Petrovaradin Fortress. I was utterly charmed by the famous 'reversed' clock tower—where the large hand shows the hours and the small hand shows the minutes. Apparently, it was designed that way so fishermen on the river could read the hour from a distance. It’s a wonderful bit of historical pragmatism. Navigating the Cyrillic street signs proved a bit of a puzzle at times, but the locals were incredibly patient when I looked lost. I spent my final evening tucked away in a quiet Belgrade courtyard, sipping a rich local coffee and listening to the faint murmur of conversation around me. It felt wonderfully unhurried, a gentle reminder of how travel used to be before everything became so rushed.

I tried the chicken curry, accompanied by rice and local sides, which was absolutely delightful. Everything was well-seasoned and clearly prepared with care. The menu offers a good variety, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. Service was also very pleasant. The staff were friendly, quick, and always smiling, making us feel welcome without being too formal. They were easy to get hold of when needed, and everything was served promptly without feeling rushed. Overall, it’s a place I’d happily revisit.
