Must go to the sea grass mountain even if the hand is broken! (Fractured hand version) ⛳Navigation: Qujing Huize Sea Grass Mountain 🎫Tickets: Scenic area tickets 35/person, scenic area sightseeing car 20/person Opening hours: 9:00--17:00 🚃Transportation: There are minibuses from Qujing Passenger Station to Huize, about 40/person, but the minibus cannot directly reach the scenic area, you need to transfer to other public transportation or carpool to go 🚗Self-driving: About 3.5h from Kunming, about 2h from Qujing. But you need to park the car in the scenic area parking lot and switch to a bus to enter tips: The altitude of the scenic area is between 3000-4000m, the climate on the mountain changes quickly, it is recommended to bring a thick coat! Do not exercise vigorously to avoid high anti-sun exposure, be sure to do a good job of sun protection! It takes a drive up the mountain from Huize County to the scenic area, drive slowly on rainy days, there are many bends ✨There are snacks at both parking points, if you are not used to it, it is best to bring some snacks Pets are allowed in the scenic area, you can bring your dog, away from the city hustle and experience the freedom of the mountains~

Take advantage of the grass not yet yellow, following the pace of autumn Get up early in the morning, and have a day trip with friends It takes about 3-4 hours to reach the destination from the center of Kunming The road conditions are very good throughout Especially after getting off the highway, the road up the mountain is absolutely beautiful In early September, it was a bit cold wearing a skirt and a jacket, friends who go later are suggested to wear more❤️ It's worth going, more surprising than I imagined

It takes about 3 hours to get to Da Hai Grass Mountain from Kunming, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. Address: Da Hai Grass Mountain, Huize County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. Transportation: After landing in Kunming by plane, I recommend driving or chartering to Da Hai Grass Mountain (We chartered a guide to go there, the guide was very good, introducing us at any time, arranging us to check in, if your driving skills are not good, do not drive, the road is hard to drive). Clothing Suggestions: It's very cold on the mountain, it's recommended to bring a windproof jacket, it will be better when the sun comes out, if you don't bring a jacket, you can rent one at the entrance of the scenic spot. Check-in Spots: Spot One: Internet celebrity check-in spot, Spot Two: Mongolian yurts and streams (These two places are must-check-in, but the mountain is really beautiful, it's easy to take good photos, there are also many sheep). Food: There are lamb skewers for sale on the mountain, very fresh, 3 yuan a skewer, roasted sweet potatoes are also delicious, if you don't like beef and mutton, you can bring some food. Accommodation: We went there and back on the same day, there is accommodation on the mountain, but it's super cold at night on the mountain, if you stay, be sure to prepare clothes, it's recommended to go there and back on the same day. This place is very niche, it's indeed inconvenient to go there, but it's really healing, take action during the National Day, if you don't go, the grass on the grass mountain will turn yellow.

First, let me share my "lazy" itinerary—the non-rushed version is truly amazing 🎒. Day 1: Arrive in Qujing and stay in Qilin District. In the afternoon, catch a breeze at Qilin Water Town and take photos at the South Gate. In the evening, head to Huake Night Market for steamed rice noodles and skewers 🍢. Day 2: Take a taxi to Zhujiangyuan in Zhanyi. Admission is 33 yuan, and the round-trip sightseeing bus is 25 yuan. A walk through the forest won't leave you drenched in sweat 🌿. Day 3: Choose one of two options. If you have average stamina, go to Jiulong Waterfall in Luoping. Adult admission is 59 yuan. To save time, buy the admission plus electric bamboo raft package for 78 yuan. Don't bother with the 128 yuan package that includes the flying carpet and slide. Walking for too long will be exhausting 💦. If you prefer meadows, go to Dahai Grassland in Huize. Admission plus shuttle is 53 yuan. However, the altitude is high, and it gets cold in the mornings and evenings in September. You'll suffer if you don't bring a thick jacket 🐑. Honestly, trying to visit both Luoping and Huize in one day is a bad idea; you'll just end up frustrated once you're there. For accommodation, just follow my advice if you want to avoid bad experiences 🏨. Qilin Garden, the South Gate, and Huake Night Market are the most convenient areas for shopping, dining, and getting a taxi. On Trip.com, economy hotels are about 100–143 yuan, and comfort hotels are 135–178 yuan. If you want a better night's sleep, choose a high-end chain near the South Gate for 190–269 yuan. The area near the train station is suitable for those catching early trains, while the Wanda Plaza area is perfect for lazy travelers who love watching movies and ordering takeout 🛏️. I don't recommend staying too far from the scenic spots. The round trip to Jiulong or Dahai Grassland takes half a day, and you'll be exhausted by the time you get back to the city at night. Before booking on Trip.com, check the ratings and cancellation policies. Don't just look at the cover photos; some homestays look so different in reality that it's laughable. Here is a breakdown of the costs for popular items 💰. A two-night stay in a comfort hotel in the city is about 270–356 yuan. Zhujiangyuan is 58 yuan including the shuttle. Jiulong Waterfall is 59 yuan for admission only, or 78 yuan with the bamboo raft. Dahai Grassland is 53 yuan, Colorful Sand Forest is 65 yuan, and Duoyi River is 40 yuan 🎫. Don't worry about food. A small bowl of steamed rice noodles is 9 yuan, and Zhanyi spicy chicken is about 60 yuan per person. You can get full at the night market with skewers for a few dozen yuan. Only eat wild mushrooms at reputable restaurants where they are thoroughly cooked, and avoid unknown varieties sold on the street 🍲. Overall, a three-day, two-night trip without shopping costs about 600–900 yuan per person. If you are taking the high-speed rail from Kunming and then using public transport, a budget of 1,000 yuan is safer 🚄. Don't be overconfident about your clothing choices in September 👗. In the city, daytime temperatures can reach 26–30°C, so short sleeves are fine. However, there are frequent showers, and temperatures drop to around 17°C in the mornings and evenings. It's even colder at Dahai Grassland. Layering is the safest bet: a T-shirt with a thin jacket, and a windbreaker for the grassland. Don't forget your sun hat and sunglasses 🕶️. The first time I went, I didn't check the weather forecast. It was sunny at noon and rainy in the evening. My shoes got soaked, which was a disaster. I swore never to skip packing a folding umbrella again. Finally, a few tips to avoid pitfalls ⚠️. At Jiulong Waterfall, don't trust roadside guides offering shortcuts; the official boardwalk is the most worry-free option. It's windy at the Colorful Sand Forest, so bring sunglasses, or you'll suffer from sand in your eyes 😅. There are no rapeseed flowers at Jinji Peak Cluster in September, but the peak forest is great for photos, so don't be disappointed by the lack of flowers. Book your tickets and hotels in advance on Trip.com for transparent pricing and peace of mind. Overall, Qujing is less crowded, food is cheap, and the pace is slow. It's perfect for lazy travelers looking to relax ☁️.

First time in Qujing? Take it from me: skip the group tours✨ I genuinely advise anyone visiting Qujing for the first time: don't be tempted by cheap group tours! Qujing's attractions are scattered across various counties, and low-cost tours are full of traps. You'll end up rushing through sights, spending most of your time in shopping stops, and missing out on authentic local food. Exploring at your own pace is the best way to experience this small city in eastern Yunnan! ❌ Why I don't recommend group tours 1. The attractions are spread far apart. Dahai Cao Shan (Dahai Alpine Meadow), Jiulong Waterfall, and the Colored Sand Forest are quite a distance from each other. On a budget tour, you'll spend most of your time on the bus, rushing through each spot just to meet up again. You won't have any time to quietly appreciate the karst peaks or alpine meadows. 2. Hidden costs. Many budget tours claim to be "no-shopping" tours, but they'll push Xuanwei ham, wild mushroom specialties, and extra-cost activities like horseback riding or scenic transport along the way. If you don't spend money, you'll be pressured. 3. Poor food experience. Group tours usually stick to set meals, so you'll rarely get to eat at the old, local-favorite restaurants. You'll likely miss out on specialties like steamed ersi (rice noodles) and Zhanyi spicy chicken. 4. Rigid itinerary. You can't linger if you find a beautiful spot, and mountain weather is unpredictable. If you want to adjust your plans, you have zero autonomy with a group tour. 🗺️ Relaxed 3-day, 2-night independent itinerary Day 1: Slow-paced city culture | South Gate + West Gate Old Street → Huake Night Market Arrive at Qujing North Station and stay in Qilin District for easy transport and dining. Spend the afternoon exploring the South Gate city wall and strolling through West Gate Old Street, which is full of local life. Be sure to try a bowl of intangible cultural heritage steamed ersi for breakfast. In the evening, hit the Huake Night Market to feast on grilled erkuai, fried potatoes, and xi dou fen (pea starch jelly) to soak up the city's nightlife. Day 2: Landscapes | Jiulong Waterfall Group + Jinji Peak Cluster Rent a car or book a ride-share through a reputable platform to Luoping. The Jiulong Waterfall Group is layered and one of China's most beautiful waterfalls. Hike slowly along the trail to feel the mist up close—the path can be slippery, so wear non-slip shoes. In the afternoon, visit the Jinji Peak Cluster to see the rolling karst landscape. Even outside of rapeseed flower season, the fields and mountains are magnificent. You can stop by the Luosi Tian (Snail Field) on the way; the free viewing platform is great for photos. Day 3: Alpine meadows | Dahai Cao Shan, return trip Start early for Dahai Cao Shan. It's at a high altitude with wide-open views, filled with cattle and sheep—often called the "Switzerland of Yunnan." It's windy and cold, so bring a warm jacket. Avoid running around to prevent mild altitude sickness. If you go horseback riding on the grassland, be sure to agree on the price beforehand. Head back after you're done. 🍜 Must-eat food list in Qujing ✅ Steamed Ersi: The soul of a Qujing breakfast. The rice noodles are soft and chewy, mixed with meat sauce, bean sprouts, and chives—savory, spicy, and fragrant. Locals eat this every day. ✅ Zhanyi Spicy Chicken: A famous Yunnan dish. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the chili is fragrant without being harsh. The sauce is perfect over rice. ✅ Fuyuan Pickled Vegetable and Pork Trotter Hot Pot: The pickled vegetables are tangy and cut through the richness, and the pork trotters are stewed until tender. Great for groups. ✅ Zhanyi Xiao Baba: An intangible cultural heritage pastry. The ham and rose flavors make great souvenirs. ✅ Grilled Erkuai and Fried Potatoes: Street snacks with rich seasonings. You can get a lot of joy for just a few dollars. ✅ Xuanwei Ham: Salty, fragrant, and rich. You can try various ham dishes, and vacuum-packed versions are great to take home. ⚠️ Essential tips for an independent trip 1. Transport: Attractions in Qujing's counties are far apart, and public transport is infrequent. If traveling in a group, renting a car is best. Solo travelers should use reputable ride-sharing or charter platforms—avoid unlicensed taxis on the street. Mountain roads are winding; slow down on rainy days. Do not take unlicensed taxis at the high-speed rail station. 2. Shopping traps: Don't buy "wild mushrooms" at high prices outside scenic spots; it's hard to tell if they're real. For Xuanwei ham and local specialties, stick to reputable shops in the city and spend rationally. 3. Mountain travel: Qujing has huge temperature differences between day and night. Even in summer, mornings and evenings can be chilly, so always keep a jacket handy. The UV rays are strong, so bring a hat and sunglasses. Dahai Cao Shan is high altitude; avoid strenuous running. 4. Food safety: When eating wild mushrooms, choose reputable restaurants, ensure they are fully cooked, and do not drink alcohol while eating them. Check prices before buying snacks from street stalls. 5. Scenic spot spending: For activities like horseback riding or scenic transport, clarify all costs before paying to avoid extra charges later. Please protect the natural environment and do not trample on vegetation. 💛 A final word Qujing is an underrated gem in eastern Yunnan, featuring waterfalls, karst peaks, alpine meadows, and tons of authentic Yunnan food. Traveling independently lets you control your own pace—stay longer if you want to enjoy the breeze on the mountain, or head straight to that old restaurant you've been wanting to try, without being tied to a schedule. If it's your first time, skip the rushed tour groups and take your time to experience the mountains, water, and local life of eastern Yunnan. You'll have a much better time!

Location: Huize Dahai Grassland is located in the main peak area of the Wumeng Mountains in Huize County, Qujing, Yunnan. It is about 40 km from Huize County, a hidden alpine meadow treasure on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. With a peak altitude of over 4,000 meters, it is a green gem in the Wumeng Mountain range. 🌿 Attraction highlights: The rolling meadows look like a soft, green velvet carpet dotted with flocks of white sheep. The mountain breeze carries the scent of grass and dances with the shadows of clouds. Enjoy wildflowers in spring, cool breezes in summer, golden waves of grass in autumn, and vast snowy landscapes in winter. You can even touch the soft clouds that seem within reach. Every photo you take is a stunning, filter-free masterpiece of nature. 🚶 Recommended route: We recommend a classic, easy one-day hiking route. Take the sightseeing bus from the scenic area entrance to the Jiucaiping parking lot, walk slowly along the wooden boardwalk to the Guanfo Terrace, and then head to the foot of Guniuzhai Mountain for photos. The whole trip takes about 3 hours. It is not too tiring and covers all the core meadow scenery. 🚌 Transportation guide: For self-driving, you can navigate directly to "Huize Dahai Grassland Scenic Area." It takes about 3.5 hours from Kunming and about 1 hour from Huize County. There is a free parking lot at the entrance. For independent travelers, you can take a direct bus from Huize County to the scenic area. There are scheduled departures daily; just buy your ticket at the bus station in advance. 💡 Other tips: The temperature difference on the mountain is much greater than in the city. Even if you visit in summer, bring a thick jacket. The UV rays are strong, so remember to bring sunscreen and a hat. Do not trample the grassland or chase the sheep. If you want to go horseback riding, look for official scenic area programs.

High upon the northern Yunnan plateau, Huize hides a moving autumn scroll. As the vast, cloudy sky stretches over rolling peaks, the endless rice paddies turn from green to gold, and the harvest scene in the basin slowly unfolds—this is the unique, gentle autumn charm of Huize. The plateau sky is always clear and bright, with large, fluffy white clouds drifting leisurely across the blue, their shadows wandering slowly over the gentle hills. In the distance, the silhouettes of the mountains are heavy and imposing, with slopes covered in a patchwork of vegetation, set against villages with white walls nestled at the foot of the mountains. The houses are arranged along the hillsides, quietly embracing the mountains, where the warmth of human life blends with the wild, forming a distant, timeless landscape painting. Large stretches of rice paddies extend into the distance along the basin. The rice ears have gradually ripened, and waves of yellow and green rice sway gently in the breeze, shimmering with a warm luster under the sunlight. The heavy, laden ears of rice bow their heads, having stored up the sunshine and rain of an entire plateau summer. Occasionally, the busy figures of farmers can be seen in the fields, tending to their crops in the autumn breeze; the cultivation on this plateau land is filled with the simple, authentic essence of life. This basin is not just fragrant with rice paddies; lotus ponds are scattered throughout. The lotus leaves are still spread wide, with a few remaining lotus flowers blooming sporadically, contrasting with the golden rice fields—one green, one gold, with distinct layers. Wooden walkways wind along the ridges, allowing visitors to stroll and feel the pastoral breeze up close. Standing on the ridge and looking out, you see rolling waves of rice nearby, quiet villages in the middle, and continuous green mountains in the distance. The world is vast, and the heart settles down along with it. Huize is not just about the profound history of its ancient city; it also possesses a vibrant, pastoral vitality. For thousands of years, the plateau basin has nurtured its people, with spring planting and autumn harvesting continuing in an endless cycle. The high mountains guard the fertile soil, the fertile soil nurtures the fragrance of rice, and new scenery slowly blooms on this ancient land. Walking through this wilderness, the wind carries the sweet scent of rice. Far from the hustle and bustle, watching the clouds roll and unfurl, and quietly admiring the magnificent autumn harvest of the plateau, you begin to understand the charm of Huize, which combines both grandeur and gentleness. The mountains are silent, but the rice waves have a voice. This pastoral scenery hidden in northern Yunnan quietly awaits every visitor to come and experience the unique composure and beauty of the plateau.

These 4 places have very different styles, making them perfect for a unique route that stretches from the southwestern plateau to the water towns of Jiangnan, and finally to the "Spring City" in the north. I have organized the activities and food for each, and included suggestions for connecting transportation at the end. 🏞️ Qujing: The "carb city" for summer escapes in eastern Yunnan Qujing is the "carb city" for summer escapes in eastern Yunnan, with an average summer temperature of around 19°C. Yangjatang Village is free; the light at sunset makes it look like a "Golden Potala Palace." · Jinyun Xiandu: The 170m Dinghu Peak, the "No. 1 Bamboo Shoot in the World," pierces the sky. It is a filming location for Swords of Legends. Entry to the scenic area is free; a combined ticket for CNY 90 includes shuttle bus service. · Yunhe Rice Terraces: You can catch the sunrise over the sea of clouds at Qixingdun at 5:30 AM. Entry to the scenic area is free; a sightseeing package ticket for CNY 195 includes the cable car. 🍜 Must-try food · Jinyun Shaobing (baked flatbread): Freshly baked and sold in the scenic area, the aroma of preserved mustard greens is mouth-watering. · Farmhouse dishes on Songyang Old Street: The pork intestine noodles with distiller's grains are worth a try. · Downtown Lishui: Try the marinated lean meat and sweet potato starch dumplings at Jiguang Street Night Market. 💡 Itinerary suggestion: Lishui's attractions are scattered in the mountains, so self-driving or hiring a car is most convenient. Explore the small alleys to find the real gems. 💡 Itinerary suggestion: Focus on the old town. For high-speed trains, Jinan Station is the best choice (it is close to Daming Lake), while Jinan West Station is far from the old town. The roads in the old town are narrow and often one-way, so self-driving is not recommended. Shared bikes are the most convenient. Visiting on weekdays will provide a much better experience. · -- 🚗 Transportation reference for connecting the 4 cities These 4 cities are quite far apart: Qujing and Weining are in the southwest, Lishui is in East China, and Jinan is in North China. Connecting them is better suited for separate trips or choosing a combination of 2 or 3. · Qujing → Weining: You can take a high-speed train from Qujing North to Guiyang North, then transfer to a bullet train to Weining (Caohai Station). The total travel time is about 3–4 hours. · Weining → Lishui: The distance is about 1,924 km, and driving takes 22.5 hours. It is highly recommended to transfer via high-speed train (e.g., via Guiyang and Hangzhou) or fly to Lishui (flights are limited). · Lishui → Jinan: High-speed trains are available directly. There are many departures from Hangzhou/Shanghai, making this the most convenient leg among the 4 cities. · Qujing → Jinan: There is a direct high-speed train, G3474 (departs Qujing North at 10:44 AM, arrives at Jinan West at 11:39 PM). If time is limited, we recommend the Qujing + Weining combination (southwestern plateau summer escape route) or the Lishui + Jinan combination (Jiangnan landscapes and northern "Spring City"), which will make for a much more relaxed experience.

Stop focusing only on Altay in Xinjiang! Hidden in Qujing, Yunnan, is a severely underrated "Little Altay" — Dahai Grassland. There are no crowded throngs here, only rolling meadows, cattle and sheep grazing leisurely, and blue skies and white clouds that feel within reach. The September breeze already carries a hint of chill, blowing across the grassland, filling your eyes with healing shades of green and gold. If you are tired of the city's hustle and bustle and want to find a place to clear your mind, then Dahai Grassland is definitely your best choice. 🌿 Why is it called "Little Altay"? Because it has the same healing scenery Endless alpine meadows spread toward the horizon like a giant green velvet carpet. Herds of cattle and sheep are scattered throughout, and windmills in the distance turn slowly, creating a beautiful pastoral painting. Every snapshot looks like a Windows desktop background. Because it offers the purest sense of freedom Here, you can run freely, lie on the grass to watch the clouds roll by, and shout loudly toward the valley. No city constraints, no work pressure, just you and this vast world. Because it has the most romantic sunset When the sun sets, golden afterglow spills over the entire grassland, and the whole world becomes gentle. Watching the sun sink bit by bit into the horizon, that ultimate romance is enough to heal all unhappiness. ✨ Highlights Rhino Horn Peak: Climb to the highest peak, and the entire Dahai Grassland spreads out beneath your feet. The Wumeng Mountains layer upon layer extend to the horizon, and a sea of clouds surges up from the valley like a white ocean lapping at the foot of the mountain. The wind is strong enough to blow you away, and a deep breath is filled with the scent of grass and snow. In the distance, herds of horses are running, their hoofbeats muffled like drums, and their manes fluttering in the wind like flags. Drip Rock Wetland Valley: Walking down from the meadow, the stream hidden in the valley is clear and green. Take off your shoes and step in; the water is bone-chillingly cold. Wild irises bloom in patches along the stream, purple-blue, swaying in the wind. Find some shade and lie down; the sound of the stream drowns out everything else. Above you are blue skies and white clouds, and in the distance are sheep and windmills. The entire valley is filled only with the sounds of wind, water, and the occasional bleating of sheep. Dafeng Pass Windmill Road: Huge windmills turn slowly at the mountain pass, creating a picture of modern and natural fusion with the rolling meadows. This is an excellent spot for taking stunning photos, especially at dusk, when the silhouettes of the windmills against the sunset are breathtaking. Guniuzhai Scenic Area: As the highest peak of the Wumeng Mountain range (altitude 4,017.3 meters), this is the best place to overlook the entire grassland. Standing on the viewing platform, the 200,000 mu of meadows are all in view, and the sense of awe is indescribable. 🤔 Reasons to reconsider Of course, Dahai Grassland also has its "imperfections." Changeable weather: The weather on the mountain changes in an instant; it might be sunny one second and overcast the next. Be sure to bring rain gear and warm clothing. Strong UV rays: UV rays are very strong in high-altitude areas. Even on cloudy days, you must take sun protection measures, or you will easily get sunburned. Inconvenient transportation: The scenic area is far from the city center, and public transportation is inconvenient. It is recommended to drive yourself or hire a car. 🚶 Recommended itinerary One-day highlights tour: Morning: Depart from Huize County, drive for about 1 hour to reach the scenic area. Take the sightseeing bus to enter. The first stop is Drip Rock to enjoy the wetland valley scenery and taste freshly grilled lamb skewers. Noon: Walk from Drip Rock to the second stop (about 1.5 km), enjoying the scenery of grasslands, yurts, streams, and horse farms along the way. Afternoon: Take the sightseeing bus to Guniuzhai Scenic Area to overlook the entire grassland. Then head to Rhino Horn Peak to experience the awe of "viewing all mountains as small." Evening: Wait for the sunset on the meadow, watching the sun sink behind the Wumeng Mountains, and the meadow change from emerald green to golden green and then to dark green. The sheep are herded home, the sound of bells goes from near to far, and finally disappears into the twilight. Two-day in-depth tour: Day 1: Huize Ancient Town > Dahai Grassland > Rhino Horn Peak for panoramic views > Meadow for sunset > Stay in Huize or camp Day 2: Morning meadow for sea of clouds > Mountain stream hiking > Return trip 📝 Tips for those who want to go Wear bright clothes: Red, yellow, or white dresses or jackets look super photogenic on the green grassland! Bring enough food and water: There are fewer dining options on the mountain, and prices are relatively high. It is recommended to bring some dry food and drinking water. Check the weather in advance: Choose a sunny day to go; the scenery will be much more beautiful. Beware of altitude sickness: At altitudes above 3,500 meters, you will get out of breath if you walk too fast, and you may have a headache at night. It is recommended to stay one night in Huize County to adapt to the 2,100-meter altitude before going up the mountain the next day. 📌 Final thoughts Dahai Grassland is great, but it is only suitable for those who are willing to spend time and energy for the scenery. Because its beauty requires you to feel and experience it yourself. That feeling cannot be conveyed by photos and videos. If you also yearn for freedom and the distance, then come to Dahai Grassland. It may not amaze you, but it will definitely make you linger.

Take a bus from Kunming North Bus Station or drive for about 3 hours to reach Huize. The ancient town is free to enter. Bluestone roads connect the Jiangxi Guild Hall, Huguang Guild Hall, and other Ming and Qing dynasty architectural complexes. The upturned eaves and corners are filled with echoes of the bustling merchants of the past. The 39x enlarged "Jiajing Tongbao" copper coin sculpture in Huize Park is the city's totem. You must visit Dahai Grassland, an alpine meadow at an altitude of 3,500 meters. In summer, green waves surge and cattle and sheep scatter like clouds, earning it the title of the "Yunnan version of Altay." If you have time, head to Yizhuo Township and sit around a fire pit. Watch the small-pot roasted tea tumble in the clay pot, releasing its aroma. Listen to a Huize Haiqiang folk song. Intangible cultural heritage isn't found in display cases, but in the warmth of daily life. 📍Kunming | Dianchi Lake and West Mountain After returning to Kunming, catch a breeze at Haigeng Dam. The silhouette of the "Sleeping Beauty" of West Mountain lies quietly on the opposite shore of the lake. Stroll through Cuihu Park and walk around Kunming Old Street. Just slow down and enjoy the pace. 📍Stay | Hilton Garden Inn Kunming Railway Station South Return to Wujiaba and stay in the Longhu Times Financial Center, Tower A, above the 40th floor. It's a 10-minute subway ride from Kunming Station to Exit D of Wujiaba Station. The 52nd-floor sky lobby offers excellent views, and on clear days, you can see Dianchi Lake and West Mountain in their entirety. Enjoy a bowl of freshly cooked rice noodles for breakfast on the 52nd floor while watching the morning light spread across the city skyline. One route, one ancient town, one grassland, one Dianchi Lake. Finally, sleep in the clouds. A Kunming layover can also be an immersive experience.

Travel tips to avoid pitfalls 🚧 If you come to Qujing in September, the worst thing you can do is pack your itinerary like a market day. Trying to cover Luoping, Huize, Zhanyi, and Luliang all at once will have you spending every day in a car, and you'll be exhausted. Honestly, don't try to do too much on your first visit. It's most comfortable to set aside one day each for the southern route (Jiulong Waterfall + Duoyi River) and the northern route (Dahai Grassland + Huize Ancient Town). Dahai Grassland is at a high altitude, and in September, temperatures can drop to around 10°C in the mornings and evenings. Bringing only short sleeves is a recipe for disaster—don't say I didn't warn you when you're shivering up there. The boardwalks at Jiulong Waterfall are slippery after rain, so wearing leather shoes is just asking for trouble. Ignore the unofficial guides on the side of the road claiming they can take you on a "shortcut" to avoid tickets; entering through the official gate is the most hassle-free option. At the Colorful Sand Forest, if the wind picks up, you'll get sand all over your face; you'll regret not wearing sunglasses. Wild mushrooms are at the tail end of the season; don't pick them yourself, and only eat them fully cooked at reputable restaurants—food poisoning is no joke. I don't recommend low-priced one-day tours that "include shopping," as you'll waste all your time in shops and your impression of the trip will be ruined. Packing essentials 🧥 In September, Qujing's daytime forecast is usually 22–28°C, but mornings and evenings can drop to around 14°C, and it's even colder in the mountains. My advice is simple: wear thin long sleeves or T-shirts during the day and add a windbreaker for the mornings and evenings. For the grassland, bring a fleece + a lightweight down jacket—don't try to tough it out. Shoes must be non-slip; Jiulong Waterfall, Pearl River Source, and Nizhu River all have rocky paths by the water, and you'll regret wearing high heels. Carry a folding umbrella, as there are many rain showers in September; if you don't have an umbrella, even the best photos will be ruined. The UV rays are strong, so don't skimp on hats and sunscreen. If you're going to the Sand Forest, pack a mask and sunglasses, or the wind and sand will ruin your makeup and hair. Don't overpack; the temperature difference in the mountains is large, but there's no need to bring clothes for all four seasons. Layering is the smartest approach. Must-visit attractions 🏞️ Adult tickets for the Jiulong Waterfall group are ¥60. The water volume is decent in September, and walking the wooden boardwalks along the ten-level cascading waterfalls is fantastic. The mist on your face feels like natural air conditioning, but don't stand on the lowest level for too long while taking photos, or your phone might get wet. Adult tickets for Duoyi River are ¥40. The calcified shoals, bamboo shadows, and Buyi ethnic customs make it quieter and more relaxing for seniors and children than the waterfalls. Dahai Grassland tickets + shuttle bus are ¥53. The alpine meadows are still green in September, and the windmills, cattle, sheep, and clouds make for great photos—just make sure you have enough energy and a jacket before heading up. Pearl River Source adult tickets are ¥33; sightseeing bus is ¥25 round-trip or ¥15 one-way. If you want to see the karst caves, buy the ticket + Caiyun Cave combo for ¥50. The "One Spring Feeds Three Rivers" site is best explored at a leisurely pace. Adult tickets for the Luliang Colorful Sand Forest are ¥65; the sand changes color with the light, and it looks most vibrant in the afternoon. Huize Ancient Town and Jinji Peak Cluster don't have rapeseed flowers in September, but the peak forest is free to enter and great for a casual stroll. Nizhu River Small Canyon is ¥38; the canyon is steep with many bridges, so be careful if you have a fear of heights. Lubuge Three Gorges tickets + boat cruise are ¥100; only go if you enjoy boat rides. Transportation guide 🚄 If you're coming from another province, you'll usually arrive in Kunming first, then take a high-speed train to Qujing North. Check real-time ticket prices and schedules on Trip.com or 12306 for the most accurate information, and don't listen to scalpers quoting prices for chartered cars. Public transport in Qujing city is cheap, and taxi starting fares are reasonable, making it easy to get to Qilin Water Town, the South Gate, and the museum. For trips to Luoping, Huize, Zhanyi, and Luliang, don't rely solely on public buses, as they are infrequent and take roundabout routes. For Luoping, it's best to stay in the county town so you can visit Jiulong, Duoyi, and Jinji in sequence the next day. For Huize, I recommend staying in the county town so you don't have to rush your trip to the grassland. If you're driving, be aware that it's rainy in the mountains in September, and there are many winding roads in Luoping, Xuanwei, and Huize—novice drivers should avoid driving at night. Booking a direct scenic shuttle or a rental car on Trip.com is more reliable than finding an unlicensed driver on the spot; the drivers will wait for you, and cancellation/modification policies are clear, saving you from many stressful moments. Authentic food 🍜 Start your morning with a bowl of steamed ersi (rice noodles); a small bowl is about ¥9. It's soft and chewy, served with peanut sauce and pickled chili—you haven't really arrived in Qujing until you've had this. Huize thin bean paste with fried dough sticks is a local breakfast staple that's warming and affordable. If you want to sit down for a proper meal, Zhanyi spicy chicken costs about ¥60 per person; it's spicy, fragrant, and goes perfectly with rice—you'll easily eat an extra bowl. Xuanwei ham skewers are about ¥5 for 3 at some shops, which is great for a snack. Near Duoyi River in Luoping, try the Buyi colorful rice and sour bamboo shoot fish; the flavors are unique and won't disappoint. At the Qilin District night market, look for roasted potatoes and papaya water—they're cheap and great for cooling down after spicy food. Honestly, restaurants inside scenic areas have high markups, so it's better to head back to the county town for a proper meal. No matter how much you crave wild mushrooms, only go to reputable restaurants and don't touch your chopsticks until they are fully cooked, or your vacation will be ruined. Searching "Qujing food" on Trip.com and sorting by rating is safer than blindly choosing a place based on a roadside sign.

In late summer and early autumn, Qujing lacks the hustle and bustle of Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang, but it hides the most healing slow time in eastern Yunnan. Having been named a National Livable City 10 times, it is not a destination for "whirlwind sightseeing," but a hidden gem city perfect for strolling, savoring, and relaxing. I have always felt that travel shouldn't be a rush; staying comfortably and having fun is what really matters. I have put together a practical guide from a local's perspective—friends planning to visit can just follow this! 🚗 Transportation guide: What is the easiest way to get there? · Long-distance travel: Fly into Kunming Changshui International Airport first, then transfer to a high-speed train or bus to Qujing. The high-speed train from Kunming to Qujing North takes about 35 minutes. Intercity trains to Qujing Station are closer to the city center, taking just over an hour with frequent departures. Driving from Kunming takes about 2 hours on easy highways, making it suitable for families or groups of friends. · Local transportation: Shared e-bikes, buses, and taxis are all convenient. Cycling around the city to explore and eat is the most enjoyable way to get around. · County tours: Attractions in Luoping, Huize, Luliang, and other areas are scattered, so driving is recommended as public transportation takes longer. 🏞️ How to play? 3 routes to unlock the many ways to experience Qujing 1. City light hiking: An immersive experience of small-city life · Liaokuoshan Forest Park: The locals' urban backyard, open for free! No strenuous hiking required; just take a slow walk along the gentle trails. Enjoy the cool breeze in the forest and head to the observation deck at the summit for a panoramic view of the city. Listen to the birds and insects during the day, and chase the sunset in the evening. · Riverside trail: A great stop on the way down from the mountain. With clear water and a gentle evening breeze, it is where locals go for their daily walks. · South Gate + West Gate Old Street: The reconstructed Ming Dynasty gate is stunning at night and is a landmark of Qujing. When night falls, it becomes a sea of music and dance, full of energy. West Gate Old Street retains 500 years of local atmosphere without being overly commercialized. With its quaint alleys and dense shops, it is perfect for a leisurely photo walk. · Huake Night Market: Packed with snack stalls, it stays lively until late at night, offering the ultimate local vibe. 2. Healing slow travel: Qilin Water Town, the "Little Jiangnan" of the plateau A national 4A-level ecological wetland scenic area with 8,700 mu of wetlands, crisscrossing rivers and lakes, thousands of mu of lotus ponds, water forests, and reed meadows. It completely breaks the stereotype of a southwestern inland city, making it a true ink-wash painting secret of eastern Yunnan, with unique charm in every season. 3. Energetic carnival: A full day of fun at Happy World Focused on energy and stress relief, it has suitable projects for friends or families with kids: · For thrill-seekers: The five-ring roller coaster, giant pendulum, hurricane flying chairs, pirate ship, and high-altitude flight are thrilling and great for stress relief. · Gentle fun for families: The carousel, happy spaceship, shark island battle, and bumper cars are gentle and safe, perfect for kids to enjoy repeatedly for a relaxing family day out. 🍜 What to eat? This time, instead of choosing a chain hotel in the busy city center, I tried the Youxi Movie Hotel in Jiangjun Town. It is accessible by bus routes 9/28, making travel worry-free. I am so glad I chose it! · Convenient location: It is not far from the water town, the amusement park, or the South Gate, saving you from long daily commutes and giving you more time to explore. · Unique experience: Unlike ordinary business hotels, this is a courtyard-style hotel featuring movie-themed rooms. The atmosphere is perfect for couples or friends traveling together. · Thoughtful details: The rooms are clean and tidy with excellent soundproofing and comfortable bedding. The public areas are elegant, and the service is attentive. It offers much better value than other hotels at the same price point. With worry-free travel and comfortable rest, a great accommodation experience really doubles the happiness of your entire trip. 💡 Practical tips · Best season to escape the heat: July–August. Escape the heatwave and step into the cool Qilin City, with an average annual temperature of 19.7°C. · Best season to visit: Late summer to early autumn (September–October). There are far fewer tourists than in the summer, and the weather is cool, making it perfect for a slow stroll. · Travel tip: There are many shops selling steamed er-si. Look for the old, crowded ones frequented by locals for a more authentic taste. Visiting Qujing is never about rushing through an itinerary or checking off tourist hotspots. Only by strolling slowly, eating slowly, and feeling the local life can you truly understand the gentleness and comfort of this city. Have you been to Qujing? The highlights of these four cities are mostly free—save your money for food and drinks. One last honest word: you don’t have to fight the crowds in trendy cities this National Day. Chenzhou’s misty Xiao Dongjiang, Anshun’s Huangguoshu waterfall, Qujing’s Jiulong falls, and Zigong’s cold spicy rabbit—these places cost little but let you slow down and actually enjoy travel. My darlings!! Just got back from Qujing, and I have to say from the bottom of my heart—Yunnan is more than just Dali and Lijiang! This seriously underrated little town in eastern Yunnan hides China's most beautiful rapeseed flower fields, 200,000 acres of alpine meadows, and a breathtakingly beautiful deep-sea crevice! The key is that it's less crowded, cheaper, and you won't encounter any tourist traps. My WeChat Moments were flooded with questions about it after three days 😭 First, a key point: Qujing's attractions are very spread out (Luoping, Huize, and Qilin Districts are distributed in a triangle), so I've compiled all the routes, ticket prices, accommodations, flight options, and tips to avoid pitfalls, based on my own experience. First-timers, just copy my guide below 👇 🗺️ First, understand the layout (otherwise you'll be exhausted) A trip to Qujing can be divided into three parts: Qilin District/Zhanyi (around the city center) → Huize County (northwest) → Luoping County (southeast). The three places are all within a 1.5-2.5 hour drive of each other, so I strongly recommend driving or hiring a car. Three days is just the right pace. 🎫 Basic Information of Core Attractions Day 1: Qilin District & Zhanyi (Surrounding City Area) Qilin Water Town: Free or low-cost admission, idyllic water town scenery, perfect for strolling and relaxing 🚣 South Gate + Liaokuo Park: Free! Rapeseed honey: A specialty of Luoping, freshly extracted in February and March, sweet to the core. 🍯 📸 Photo Spots: A Guide to Creating Stunning Photos on Social Media Jinji Peak Cluster: The light is softest at sunrise, with peaks, flower fields, and morning mist creating stunning aerial views (February-March) 🌅 Jiulong Waterfall Group: Take panoramic photos of the ten-tiered waterfall from the viewing platform, and capture the mist and rainbows near the water's edge. Dahai Grassland: Photograph the rolling meadows and sheep at sunset; wearing a white/red long dress will result in amazing photos. Yulu Earth Crevice: Look up and photograph the "One Line Sky"; a wide-angle lens will make it even more breathtaking. Nianhu Lake: Photograph black-necked cranes and light mist from 6:30-8:00 AM (November-March); a telephoto lens is essential 🦢 Huize Ancient City: Bluestone alleys and red lanterns; wearing Hanfu/ethnic style will create a fantastic feel. 👗Outfit: White/red dresses are best for photos in the grasslands and flower fields; Yunnan has strong UV rays, so a hat, sunglasses, and sun protection are essential 🧢 💡 Useful Tips 1. Best time to visit: February-March (Luoping rapeseed flowers, only this season!), July-August (Jiulong Waterfall at its most spectacular during high water season), November-March of the following year (Nianhu Black-necked Cranes) 🍂 2. Transportation: Driving or hiring a car is strongly recommended! Qujing's attractions are scattered, and public transportation doubles the travel time; the high-speed train from Kunming to Qujing takes only 1 hour, and you can rent a car upon arrival 🚗 3. Altitude sickness: Dahai Grassland is over 3500 meters above sea level, avoid strenuous exercise, and bring a thick jacket (the mountaintop is 10℃+ lower than the city) 🧥 4. Sun protection: Yunnan's ultraviolet rays are extremely strong, sunscreen + hat + sunglasses, apply even on cloudy days 5. Tickets: Most scenic spots can be purchased on-site, but during peak season (rapeseed flower festival), it is recommended to book online in advance to save time. ⚠️ Avoid pitfalls (lessons learned the hard way) 1. Rapeseed flowers are only in bloom from February to March! 1. Visiting Luoping during other seasons only allows you to see the karst landforms; don't go empty-handed (check flower seasons before you go) 🌼 2. For crane watching at Nianhu Lake, arrive early: Black-necked cranes are most active in the early morning and fly away after 8 am, so you need to arrive around 6 am. 3. The weather at Dahai Grassland is unpredictable: It feels like all four seasons in one day on the mountain; a windproof jacket/light down jacket is a must, don't go in short sleeves and you'll freeze. 4. The Yulu Dadi Crevice is slippery: Wear non-slip sports shoes; the crevice is narrow, and there will be queues when it's crowded 👟 5. Don't buy "wild honey/ham" at the scenic area entrance: The price is significantly inflated; buy from supermarkets or reputable specialty stores in the county town. 6. Accommodation prices in Luoping skyrocket during peak season: Prices increase 2-3 times in February and March; book a month in advance, otherwise you'll have to stay dozens of kilometers away. 7. Jiulong Waterfall has low water levels during the dry season (December-April): To see the magnificent waterfall, choose the high-water season from June to September 💧 💰 Cost Reference (3 days 2 nights per person) Entrance fees: approximately 350 yuan + 2 nights accommodation: approximately 500 yuan (shared room) + chartered car/car rental: approximately 500 yuan + food and drinks: approximately 250 yuan ≈ 1600 yuan, significantly cheaper than Dali and Lijiang! My darlings, Qujing is truly a hidden gem – 800,000 mu of rapeseed flowers create a golden sea, 200,000 mu of meadows are dotted with sheep like white clouds, and the sky is just a sliver visible through the cracks in the earth. Black-necked cranes fly over Nianhu Lake in the early morning…🌾 The key is that there are very few people, so you don't have to fight for a good spot to take photos! Save this post and go during the right season! Ask me any questions in the comments section, I'll answer them to the best of my ability~❤️ Qujing Travel Guide My darlings!! In Qujing, enjoy Zhanyi spicy chicken and pea starch jelly. In Beihai, try the crab noodle soup and shrimp cakes. In Xiapu, feast on fresh seafood and fish paste soup. ⚠️ Travel tips Panzhihua has strong sunlight, so be sure to pack sunscreen. Qujing has significant temperature differences between day and night, so bring a light jacket. In Beihai, the coastal rocks can be slippery, so watch your step and check seafood prices beforehand. For Xiapu mudflats, check the tide tables in advance and wear non-slip shoes. The meaning of travel isn't about how many attractions you check off your list, but about setting aside the busyness and quietly enjoying time with the person you love.

Qujing is best explored at a slower pace, area by area. It’s not a destination for checking off a single attraction, but rather a highland journey where natural scenery, ancient streets, mountain villages, and local cuisine intertwine. We recommend deciding whether you prefer landscapes or cultural experiences, or if you want to combine both, before planning your daily priorities. If you love expansive views, consider adding Luoping to your itinerary. The golden fields during the rapeseed flower season are visually striking, with a rich composition of peaks, villages, and ridges. Even outside the flower season, it’s a great place to see karst landscapes and rural scenery. Try to set aside ample time for photography; the light is softer in the early morning and evening, and it’s easier to avoid the crowds. The Jiulong Waterfall Group is a great stop for a nature experience. The highlight of the journey isn't just the waterfalls themselves, but also the changing scenery of the forests, streams, and trails. Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes, and bring water and light rain gear, leaving some flexibility in your schedule in case of weather changes. To capture the mist and layered effects, observe from different viewpoints rather than rushing through. If you prefer history and local vibes, take your time exploring Huize Ancient Town and its surroundings. The ancient architecture, old streets, shops, and the daily life of the locals are worth more of your time than just snapping quick photos. We suggest a relaxed pace: explore the streets and buildings in the morning, and find a small shop to rest in the afternoon. Keep an eye out for local products and handmade crafts for a more complete experience. When it comes to food, don't just chase popular spots; the authentic local vibe is often hidden in neighborhoods where locals dine. Try rice noodles, steamed er-si, potato-based snacks, and seasonal home-style dishes. A "try a little of everything" approach helps you avoid disappointing meals and saves room for the next stop. Check portion sizes before ordering, especially if you're traveling in a small group, as sharing is a great way to sample more. The key to saving money and effort is to minimize backtracking between regions. Group nearby attractions into the same day, and prioritize accommodation in areas with convenient transportation and plenty of dining options for the evening. You don't need to visit every single spot in a scenic area; just choose the routes that interest you most. A three-to-five-day trip is ideal: include some natural scenery, some ancient town culture, and leave half a day of flexibility. This will make your journey more relaxed and increase your chances of encountering unexpected surprises✨ Tags:

Must-visit Qujing! Grasslands, waterfalls, and old streets—staying at this hotel makes the trip worth it Summer in Qujing is a true delight. This small city, dubbed by netizens as the top spot for "relaxed summer getaways," has an average summer temperature of just 19.7°C—it's basically a "natural air conditioner." It's only a 30-minute high-speed train ride from Kunming, and many people find they never want to leave. Qujing is the true source of the Pearl River and is known as the "First City at the Source of the Pearl River." It lacks the noisy commercial atmosphere of Dali or Lijiang, offering instead endless fields under blue skies and white clouds, and a steaming bowl of rice noodles at a local shop. Today, I'll walk you through the "must-visit attractions" and "must-eat foods" in Qujing, and at the end, I'll recommend a treasure of a hotel that you won't want to leave! 🌄 Must-visit attractions, each one worth a special trip 📍South Gate: A landmark every first-time visitor to Qujing must see. The palace-style structure with its upturned eaves is spectacular. At sunset, the ancient city walls are bathed in golden red. When night falls, warm golden lights cover the entire tower, and the glazed tiles shimmer—it's perfect for ancient-style photos. You can also overlook the dazzling night view of the old city from the walls. 📍Liaokuo Park: Qujing's "urban lungs" and a favorite walking spot for locals. The temperature in the forest is 5–8°C lower than in the city. The main peak is 2,160m above sea level, and reaching the top offers a panoramic view of Qujing. The Jingning Pagoda at the summit is known as the first man-made tower in Asia and is truly spectacular. 📍Pearl River Source Scenic Area: A national 4A-level scenic spot located at the foot of Maxiong Mountain in Zhanyi District. It features a unique geographical wonder where "one drop of water feeds three rivers." Standing by the Pearl River Source Cave, looking at the clear water at your feet—the zero-kilometer point of the Pearl River—gives you a sense of ceremony, as if standing at the starting point of history. With a forest coverage rate of 98%, it's a natural oxygen bar. 📍Dahai Grassland: Known as "Yunnan's Little New Zealand"! 200,000 mu of alpine meadows stretch to the horizon, with herds of cattle and sheep and spinning windmills. In summer, it's full of greenery and wildflowers. The area with the yurts is the best for photos. You must try the horse riding—it's a big loop for CNY 30. The freshly grilled yak skewers at the entrance are so sizzling and fragrant you won't be able to walk away! 📍Xihe Park: Located in Zhanyi District, netizens call it "Little Erhai." The water surface is vast and ripples when the wind blows. The park has no gate and no admission fee. In the evening, there's the only musical fountain in eastern Yunnan, 120m long with over 2,000 nozzles. 📍Ximen Old Street: The only historical district in Qujing's central urban area, carrying the imprints of over 600 years of history. The street layout from the Ming Dynasty remains intact. With its bluestone roads, old houses with red bricks and grey tiles, and various coffee shops and creative studios, the blend of ancient and modern atmosphere is incredibly charming. 🍜 Must-eat foods, eating 8 meals a day isn't enough Qujing is a low-key "food kingdom," with local specialties everywhere. 🍚 Qujing Steamed Ersi: Your first meal in Qujing must be this! The rice noodles are delicate and soft, smooth and chewy with a hint of resilience. The sweet soy sauce is rich, the meat sauce is savory, the pickles are tangy, and the chives are fragrant—the layers of flavor are distinct. You can find the most authentic taste in the unassuming little shops on Ximen Street for just a few yuan. 🌶 Zhanyi Spicy Chicken: One of the representative dishes of Yunnan! Local free-range chicken is stir-fried over high heat with 23 spices, including Yunnan's unique dried chili and black cardamom. The spicy aroma can drift for several streets. It's bright red, oily, tender, and flavorful, spicy but not drying. There's even a "three ways to eat one chicken" method (spicy chicken, braised chicken, and meatball chicken). 🥮 Zhanyi Small Baba: A provincial intangible cultural heritage snack with over 400 years of history! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, it has the savory taste of ham and the sweet honey of sugar syrup. In the 1970s and 80s, men would buy hundreds of these as engagement tokens. 🍲 Pickled Vegetable and Red Bean Crispy Trotter Hot Pot: A must-eat in Qujing! The trotters are marinated, fried, and then roasted to create a crispy skin. After being sliced, they are stewed in a pickled vegetable and red bean soup, making the trotters soft, glutinous, and appetizing. 🥔 Roasted Potato: A must-eat at Huake Night Market! Roasted until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, then dipped in chili powder. Simple but addictive. You must go to Huake Night Market at night! You can find almost all the local delicacies of Qujing there. Pressed duck, lamb soup pot, small-pot rice noodles... you haven't really been here until you've eaten until your belly is round. 🏨 Hotel recommendation: Heyang Hotel, stay here after a tiring day After a full day of playing, you need a comfortable place to rest. I visited Huize in Qujing, Yunnan, a while ago. I originally went for the "Wumeng Summit" village run and the Starlight Rice Wave Music Festival, but I ended up spending two days in Baiwu Village. Strolling from the old street to the bookstore, and walking from the field ridges to the stage, the slower I walked, the more I came to appreciate the significance of this thousand-year-old village. Yunnan Rice Wave Music FestivalMisty drizzle, gentle night, take advantage of the pitter-patter of rain to explore the thousand-year-old Huize Ancient Town by night. Compared to the romantic "Wind, Flowers, Snow, and Moon" of Dali or the lively romance of Lijiang, this hometown of the copper kings in northeastern Yunnan possesses a unique, understated tranquility and depth. The continuous drizzle falls lightly on the ancient alleys, moistening the blue bricks and dark tiles, blurring the upturned eaves. The entire ancient town is wrapped in a gentle night and misty rain, creating the perfect atmosphere. Warm yellow lights flow slowly along the winding old streets, and the bluestone slabs, brightened by the rain, look moist and clear. Walking through it, you hear no noisy crowds, only the sound of rain, the wind, and the lingering echoes of the ancient town's history. This was once a prosperous hub for copper merchants, where traders from all directions gathered, creating a unique cultural heritage in eastern Yunnan. Three-hundred-year-old Gan-style architecture is hidden deep in the alleys, with simple carved beams and silent stages. Every brick and tile is steeped in thousand-year-old stories of venturing across mountains and seas to build businesses. There is no noise from over-commercialization, only the quiet, everyday life of the old town. Drizzle falls on the ancient town, a cool breeze brushes through the alleys. In the hazy night, slowly come to understand the unique Ming and Qing dynasty charm and gentle character of Huize. This is the thousand-year-old time hidden in the deep mountains of Yunnan, low-key yet stunning 🌧️🌙
