Sheffield was such a lovely surprise! 😊 I spent time exploring the city centre, wandering through peaceful green spaces, admiring the mix of historic buildings and modern architecture, and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. 🌳🏙️ The people were warm and welcoming, and there were plenty of great cafés, shops, and places to stop and soak it all in. Tucked away on Sharrow Vale road in Sheffield is Gilbert & sons; a three storey warehouse full of antique finds. This place is packed full off antique furniture, paintings, signs, taxidermy pieces, oddities amongst other trinkets and treasures… even a coffin! (See last photo) 🤣 I spent ages looking around the warehouse at all the different types of items for sale, every now and then stopping to have a rummage or peek into a cabinet or drawer. In the end I purchased a vintage wooden jewellery box, but left thinking about a little brass pig dish that I decided to leave behind 😢🤣 Tip: If you head towards nearby Ecclesall road there are several thrifty shops, charity shops and places to get lunch or a coffee 🥐🍰☕️ ♿️♿️♿️: please note that there are steps only to the different floors, at times these stairs are wooden and narrow so may not be suitable for all. Due to the nature of the antique store, there are items everywhere and sometimes pathways between items are narrow. Sheffield is a relatively low-key, but worth visiting city in the UK, especially when the weather is nice, it’s really good for strolling around the streets and feeling the rich western architecture and people. But having said that, the weather in the UK is not as stable as in Hong Kong, sometimes sunny and sometimes rainy and windy. So if you’re on a short stay, it really depends on the weather. This time I visited Peace Gardens, Weston Park and Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, all easily accessible and full of authentic character. 🗓️Itinerary In the morning, if you see clear weather, we recommend the first stop at Peace Gardens (Town Hall Pinstone Street, Sheffield S1 2HH), which is open year-round, any time of day. This garden is located right in the city center, next to the classic city hall building, fountain and green shade very European town feel. The sunlight shining on the slate floor takes all the architectural outlines, which is quite artistic. I saw a lot of locals playing football, resting and slowly feeling part of city life. You can then walk over to Weston Park (Sheffield S10 2TP), which is close to the University of Sheffield and is also a favorite retreat for students. Weston Park is open year-round from 8:30 to 16:00. If you have time, you can slowly walk the paths in the park, chat with friends on the benches, and admire the elegant modern architecture. Be sure to bring your camera and capture the western architecture and market scenery in a rather healing corner. The last stop is the Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul (Church Street, Sheffield S1 1HA), open year-round, open until evening Monday to Saturday, and will close earlier on Sundays. The church is a representative of British Gothic architecture. The light inside is soft and the space is high. Standing in it will have a feeling of mind-washing. Sometimes there will be an organ playing to feel the Western religious and cultural background. 🏖️ Environmental experience Each point underlines Sheffield’s cultural undertones and inclusiveness. #northerneurope This amazing museum is located in a magnificent building in Weston Park close to the University and the Children’s Hospital. It is free to enter but donations are always welcome. It’s very well laid out with lots of information about all aspects of Sheffield life together with other traditional subjects such as the Egyptians. Catch up on local history as well as ancient animals and historical artifacts. Would recommend for any parents with their children, young or teenagers. Lots of open space in Weston Park outside also. #sheffield

#northerneurope I really liked Sheffield and Sheffield Hall The hall is an incredible venue with amazing architecture and a lively atmosphere. It hosts a variety of events, from concerts to exhibitions, making it a great place to experience the local culture. The city itself is friendly and welcoming, What made even more enjoyable was the leg room I have long legs and for once a venue that i didnt have to sit with my legs to my chest. Ponds Forge is the international sports centre and perfect for swimming or diving. O#swimming ne of the premier sports and leisure centres in the country, boasting a wide variety of facilities that are perfect for everyone – regardless of age or fitness level. These include a 50m competition-standard swimming pool (which can be split into two learner pools), a 25m leisure pool and a diving pit. On the dry side, there’s a large, 10-court sports hall, as well as a spacious and well-appointed gym boasting 140 stations and the very latest fitness equipment. There are also two group exercise studios with a packed programme of classes.

#northerneurope A nice place to shop, eat and watch a movie. The parking sites are located conveniently and one can choose the location based on which shops one wishes to visit in the mall. Parking is free. There’s a reason why this whole place has been going for so many years now when in general a lot of high streets are struggling, literally everything you could possibly need here from clothing to toys to food to entertainment. Apart from the regular high street shops and food joints, there are other independent shops as well. #sheffield

#sheffieldtrip Sheffield's cherry blossoms 🌸 are in bloom The cherry blossoms near the apartment have bloomed, and it's also the first time I realized that there are cherry blossoms to see in the UK🇬🇧. So I searched and found that there are relatively more on the hillside behind the station, and the ones at the city hall are quite beautiful. Although it's not the kind of cherry blossom forest covering the hills, every tree is dense with flower clusters, a color that is white with a hint of pink, which is already very attractive🤩. I strolled around for half a day and saw all kinds of flowers in full bloom, spring is here!
