Restaurant Augusta

My experience at Bar Augusta in Capri, Italy, was sadly disappointing. I opted for breakfast there, only to find the prices to be exorbitantly high for what was offered. What added to the frustration was the absence of a clear menu, leaving me in the dark about the costs. Attempting to navigate the lack of menu, I inquired about the drinks selection. To my disbelief, the waiter proudly declared himself to be the "walking menu," which seemed more like a clever dodge than a helpful approach. This led to ordering €8 cappuccinos and a €9 lemonade, both of which fell short of expectations in terms of taste and value. My culinary journey at Bar Augusta took a nosedive when I sampled their ravioli and vongole pasta. The clams in the vongole pasta were sandy, an unacceptable flaw that marred the entire dish. To make matters worse, the ravioli's texture was unpleasantly raw, resembling the taste of soy sauce rather than a flavorful Italian dish. In the light of my disappointing experience, I would strongly advise against considering Bar Augusta for your dining choices. The lack of transparency, combined with overpriced and subpar offerings, makes it a place I wouldn't recommend to even my worst enemy. It's a regrettable reminder that sometimes appearances can be deceiving, and the allure of a picturesque location doesn't necessarily translate to a satisfying culinary experience.
