If you’re planning a 5-day trip to Japan, don’t just follow random guides! This super easy 5-day plan covers must-see spots, food, and tips to avoid pitfalls. Follow it to enjoy popular attractions without rushing~ · - You can choose two angles from history, scenery, and culture to write about, for example: Japan has Kyoto’s ancient temples 🏯 with a thousand years of Tang dynasty heritage, plus Kamakura’s seaside 🌊 with healing ocean breezes, and the lively atmosphere of street izakayas 🏮. No, let’s make it more casual and about 60 words: Japan has Kyoto’s ancient temples 🏯 with a thousand years of Tang dynasty heritage, plus Kamakura’s seaside 🌊 with soft, healing ocean breezes, and the lively vibe of street izakayas 🏮. Yes, this fits better, is casual, includes attraction emojis, covers history and scenery, and the length is right. A slight tweak for natural flow: Japan has Kyoto’s ancient temples 🏯 with a thousand years of Tang dynasty heritage, plus Kamakura’s seaside 🌊 with soft, healing ocean breezes, and the lively vibe of street izakayas 🏮. · - 📒 Suggested itinerary: Day 1: Arrive at Fukuoka Airport, choose paid 24H private transfer to hotel for rest Day 2: Mount Aso — Kusasenri — Aso Volcano Museum — Aso Shrine — Kurokawa Onsen Day 3: Shiraito Falls — Raizan Sennyoji Temple — Sakurai Futamigaura Couple Rocks — Keya Gate — Fukuoka Tower — Momochi Seaside Park Day 4: Free day in Fukuoka, no car or guide, arrange your own plans Day 5: Depart from Fukuoka, optional paid 24H private transfer to airport to end trip · - Must-see spots: 🌋 Mount Aso: One of the world’s largest volcanic calderas 🌋, the active Nakadake volcano is stunning! In Aso Kuju National Park, you can see grassland pastures, hike or bike, watch high-altitude drum performances, and learn about local herding and conservation. Best visited March–December for full experience ✨ 🗼 Fukuoka Tower: A super tall observation tower covered with over 8,000 mirrored panels 🪞! During New Year, enjoy fireworks, sunrise-themed light shows on a 15-minute loop, photo spots, and capsule toy red envelope events. The atmosphere is amazing 🎆 · - ✈️ Travel checklist: 📱 First, bring your passport + Japan tourist visa, get a phone SIM or enable international roaming in advance to stay connected. 🔌 Next, pack a plug adapter—Japan uses two flat pins—and don’t forget a power bank for emergencies. 👕 Finally, bring lightweight, breathable summer clothes. August in Japan is hot and humid, so sunscreen clothing and a portable folding umbrella are must-haves. · - This group tour in Japan was amazing. Grab your travel buddy and go make your own wonderful memories 🥰

If you've been to Japan a few times and feel like you know the country quite well, I think you should try going south.

Kyushu gave me a very different feeling about Japan.

The first time I saw pictures of Takachiho Gorge, I had a feeling: I absolutely had to go there.

And when I actually set foot in Kyushu, I realized that the most attractive thing about this place wasn't just the scenery.

It was the feeling of a more liberal, open Japan, less constrained by familiar rules. The pace of life was also more relaxed. And the nature… was truly breathtaking.

Kyushu is a geological area with many active volcanoes, so it has mountain ranges, gorges, lakes, hot springs, and magnificent landscapes created by millions of years of Earth's movement.

Mount Aso (Kumamoto Prefecture) and Sakurajima (Kagoshima Prefecture) are two of Japan's most active volcanoes.

Thanks to its intense volcanic and geothermal activity, Kyushu also accounts for approximately 35% of Japan's total hot spring (onsen) sources, with famous hot spring towns like Beppu and Yufuin.

Much of the island is covered by hills and giant caldera formations created after ancient eruptions.

In particular, it's a land steeped in Japanese mythology. There are places where you can not only admire the scenery but also feel like you're stepping into an ancient tale.

Initially, I planned to use the Seishun 18 Kippu pass to explore Kyushu by local trains, traveling through different regions. However, after researching, I discovered that the most beautiful places in Kyushu are often not located near train stations or with convenient public transportation.

The Takachiho Gorge, mountainous areas, valleys, and volcanic landscapes are often located deep within nature, requiring additional local buses or taxis for transportation, making it quite complicated. Therefore, I chose a day tour with private transportation.

If you're looking for a more unique Japan than Kyoto, Tokyo, or Osaka, try Kyushu. You might discover a Japan you've never known before.
