Kek Lok Si Temple

Address: Kek Lok Si Temple, Jln Balik Pulau, 11500 Air Itam, Penang, Malaysia Highlights: One of the most spectacular Chinese Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. Dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, this beautiful Chinese temple is situated on the hilltop at Air Itam Penang. Comprising monasteries, several prayer halls alongside gardens, and the beautiful giant Guanyin statue, overlooking George town and Penang. The best time to visit Kek Lok Si Temple is during the Chinese New Year. Plenty of interesting festive decorations adding to the tourism value of this attraction. Recommended to walk up the hills, traffic could be terribly jammed. There is a souvenir shop and a vegetarian restaurant where you can shop and dine there. Free entrance, donations are welcome.
