Zhenwu the Great is the god of the north worshipped in Taoism

"Juyongguan Zhenwu Temple" is located in the north gate urn city of Juyongguan, Beijing. It was first built in the Hongxi year of the Ming Dynasty (1425), and it is said to be built by General Xu Da because of the "frequent assistance of the real martial god" in the northern expedition. Zhenwu Temple is a quadrangle, and its buildings are all glazed tile yellow cut-edge roofs, which is the only temple in the North Gate Urn City. The Zhenwu Hall is the main hall of the temple, where the Zhenwu the Great (also known as: Xuanwu the Great) and the Taoist Zhenwu God's eight marshals, six Ding and six Jia generals, two generals of water and fire, and the statues of Qinglong, Baihu and other gods are worshipped. The current Zhenwu Temple was restored in 1996.
