Chaoshan 3 Day Trip (Chaozhou/Shantou/Nan’ao)

A region well-known for their attention to detail when it comes to food, Chaoshan is the perfect getaway if you wanna go home with a full stomach and a happy heart. Not a ton of sightseeing but travelers are there for the food anyway! Nan’ao island is pretty impressive and I definitely recommend renting a car and drive to and from the island if possible! Be sure to call your hotel ahead to get the latest COVID updates and also whether they will accept your ID type (many cannnot accept non Mainland Chinese travelers) #tigeryear2022 Getting There - direct flight from Shanghai ~2hrs Attractions - Chaozhou: 牌坊街，广济桥 Shantou: 小公园，Nan’ao Island: 青澳灣 get coffee at Sea Candence! Hotels - I don’t recommend the hotels I stayed at Food & Restaurants - 雙生腸粉，老魏記杏仁茶，literally any meatball place Shopping - they don’t have a ton of interesting souvenirs so I settled for plums and canned olives 🫒!
