Dazu Rock Carvings on a rainy day

To get there, you have at least two possibilities : - rent a car and drive there - take a train to Dazu and get a taxi to the scenic spot It was spring, so rainy days are pretty usual in Chongqing. However, we decided, that a little rain won't stop us. So we took our raincoats and drove to Dazu. It was a one and a half hour drive, mostly on highway, so no mountain road (only the very last part bug it is short). Getting around there is easy, as there are also signs in English. Although some locals did offer to hire them as our guide. We decided we will visit vithout the guide, cause our children can't really stand still until the guide explains everything to us. From the entry point we took a bus (additional fee) to the Rock carvings. On a beautiful sunny day we would prefer to walk, even if it is quite a distance. But on a rainy day it did not seem so nice. We visited the Rock carvings and the temple, and decided to take the minibus back to the exit. This way, on our way out we visited an ancient town with many interesting shops. Because we were off season, most of them were closed, but we did enjoyed walking through.
