Calton Hill, Edinburgh

Calton Hill is included in Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is certainly not a difficult hike compared to Arthur’s Seat, but do come here to admire the city’s view. It is not merely a viewpoint, but also the seat to some of the iconic Scottish monuments such as the National Monument, Dugald Stewart Monument, Nelson’s Monument, Robert Burns Monument and the City Observatory. The National Monument is the national memorial to the Scottish soldiers and sailors that died fighting in the Napoleonic Wars and it certainly resembles the famous Parthenon of Athens.
