Calton Hill - Edinburgh ‘s Acropolis

Calton Hill is just a short 5 min walk from Edinburgh’s main train station - Waverley Station. It is 100m in elevation so It is a great place to see the city’s skyline. It is sometimes referred to as the Acropolis of Edinburgh because of the Parthenon inspired National Monument. However, it was never completed so there are only twelve columns as it stands today. The panoramic view on this hilltop is striking at any time of the day, but I thought it was particularly beautiful at sunset. #Edinburgh #urbanexplorer #scotland #unescoheritage
